Hey friends! I’d love for some feedback on the info paper in the corner! I was totally inspired by my friend @jacqueismaking when I saw something similar in her latest podcast (definitely check her out!) and I found it helpful to have the info on the screen the whole time. Let me know if you found the paper to be helpful or just distracting! I’m always trying to find ways to make this channel better for you, so I’d love to know! Thank you 💛 *oh and don’t forget that you can use code “Nora” for 50% off Kutovakika patterns until AUGUST 31st! (more details in description)
I like the idea of the little info paper in the corner, but that font and how small the info is make it hard to read. Maybe a non-cursive font in bold would help?
For what it's worth, I think the V neck on your Tolsta is super flattering on the back, and I like it in the front too! I see what you mean about wanting it to be a bit sexier, but I don't think it looks like an awkward depth at all, just more casual than you were imagining, but looks great on you :)
Thank you!! One of the cool things about filming these podcasts is that it gives me a chance to step back and see my garments from a different perspective. I actually like the finished object more than I thought I did after seeing it in the video! It’s definitely more of a work top than a date night option, but it will definitely have a place in my wardrobe!
I really appreciate the information on the project you are sharing on the bottom left corner of the screen! It’s very helpful. Glad you and yours are safe!!
If anyone interested in the tolsta tank pattern hasn't snagged it yet, Rebecca is having a 30% off birthday sale until Monday night on all her patterns!
Can i stop just one second to tell you how much I love that "however" intonation? I litterally use it in my everyday life when things seem not to go how I planned them to and English is not even my language😮
I agree completely with projects needing to be a little more complicated to zone out as you get more comfy with knitting. I've noticed that too. Take good care~ Kimberly
Hi Nora, Found the paper perfect. I have some trouble distinguishing words sometimes, especially names of people and patterns, so the "info in the corner" is great. Thx
Hi Nora, I personally really like the info paper in the corner and how you also indicate how much your finished project costs. With the thrifted yarn, maybe make a blanket for Osi. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Happy knitting 🧶 Karen
Thank you for the feedback!! I am glad that you also find the price breakdown helpful! I could definitely see the thrifted yarn turning into a little Osi knit! Great idea-thank you
I love everything about your podcast and all you do! May I suggest using that theifted yarn to make Char Char Hats by whimsy north! It is my go to gift pattern and I can knit it up in one movie at home! And it keeps my interest with the little bit of cabling💕
I love how versatile the Tolsta is - and most of crea bea’s patterns!! this is such a flattering knit & also a great layering piece as you enter fall. here in Australia we are entering spring & I am hoping to make a Tolsta tee very soon! 💛
When a knit fabric shrinks in length, it often will widen in width. I wonder if that is what is happening with your Clematis. If the back shrunk when you blocked it, it may have gotten wider and therefore gave you too much ease. At least you figured out a way to make it work! Love your podcast.
i dont mind the V neck on the tolsta on you at all! i think its really pretty:) for buttons on the clematis i would look for black or gray mother of pearl ones! i have a turquoise ready-made sweater with dark blue mother of pearl buttons and its such a pretty yet subtle detail, i love it! im loving the new lil cards with the info youve included this episode
I think the paper in the corner is fine, anything with pattern names written out are very helpful. I enjoy Knit Ink, a mother/daughter podcast, she writes cards out and holds them up when they come to the pattern/designer
I was not attracted to the Clematis patterns when they came out. Now I am thinking I might make the tank next year! 😀 I think it will look great on you! For your green baby alpaca yarn - the yardage would work perfect for one ball of standard lace mohair and that would really help with pilling. I don't know this yarn but basically all baby alpaca will pill a lot. Info in the corner is good 👍
I definitely think that the pattern thrives in more subtle colors (obviously totally personal style/taste!) I’m hoping it’ll just come across as a nice twist on a basic tank! Ooh I like the idea of adding a strand of mohair to the alpaca-maybe something a little more citrusy to make the color more my thing
I think maybe little pearl buttons would make the vest look really classy, like the kind that has the little post on the back instead of holes that go through. IDK, just what popped in my head!
A pattern you might want to check out for that thrift yarn is called the Big Chunky Comfy Hat, it's free and works up SO quick, I've made so many for gifts it's my most knit pattern! You could probably get one from each skein so one to gift one to keep if you wanted!
I don‘t know why, but i really love you 😍😍 Watching your videos is SO MUCH FUN! Thank u for all the work u put into your videos🫶🏻 Hope u never stop making these amusing Podcasts🎉
Nora, I’m glad you’re safe! On the Clematis vest, I’m not sure if you checked your actual post blocking gauge on your garment (sometimes, as we all know, swatches can be too small or our gauge actually changes once we’re knitting the pattern). Plant fibers such as cotton tends to shrink lengthwise and grow widthwise. That’s what I’m guessing happened 🤷♀️ Either way, your projects are all looking wonderful!
Thank you! I did check the swatch before and after blocking as well as the whole back panel before and after blocking and my gauge never changed. I’m thinking there might just be a little more ease built in to the pattern than I thought. Thank you!!
Hey Nora, you too! your podcast format! ❤❤❤. Your yarn acquisition, pilling test to happen on soft yarns, even on cashmere. Thanks so much for your knitting insights. Everyone in our fiber group loves
Alpaca is my favorite fiber. Those skeins will likely be pretty pilly because they are loosely spun but thats just something to be aware of. They'd make a better hat than mittens for example
Omg thanks for noticing how nursing friendly the best is! Now I want to cast one on since I won't have to wait till I'm finished nursing to wear it! Genius!
Well that worked out well on a rainy afternoon in the UK sat down for a cup of tea and there you are glad your safe extremes of weather are getting more and more scary so thank God for knitting distractions your Tolsta tank Looks great on you Nora love the icord edging
I liked the paper ! I’m dying for you to get into your fall knits and hoping you are going to knit a pair of the lounge pants you showed on another episode 😊. I’m dying to knit myself one of those sets but you go first and then I can follow 😝
I love the color of your Tolsta tank! It looks great on you. I think the tortoise buttons would be fabulous against the black - so classic. Also, maybe make a throw pillow for your couch or your bed with the baby alpaca. That way you could try the yarn AND have an emotional support pillow too :)
I also finished my Clematis Vest and I had was too much positive ease! I love the design so I plan on frogging, doing some math, and re-knitting. I knit the smallest size so I don't have the option of sizing down.
I’m loving the Tolsta Tank! Thank you for the tips as I am considering making it as you did. Only suggestion for you, when you have the mental capacity to deal with it again (lol) is maybe to redo the i-cords to see if you can get a better tension.
Thank you!! I actually think I’ll make another next year with just the vest back on both sides lol…it’s my favorite neckline option now 😂 I definitely plan to redo the I cords on a rainy day sometime soon hahaa
Glad you’re safe Nora! I lived most of my life near Redding CT and was absolutely blown away by the damage. Stay safe! Your knitting is fantastic and you’re one of my favorite podcaster. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Went and bought 6 Kutovakika patterns with your code 😅 honestly so worth it. I've been dreaming about a rust colored Salty Days sweater so that might need to happen v soon (Fall KAL inspired by her patterns maybe??) I also am so excited and intrigued to see how that skirt flows and falls once it has the full weight of all the yarn behind it. Is the Belle particularly heavy? And tbh I don't notice anything funky on your maroon Tolsta's arm holes! Looks just like a great basic tank.
I literally did the same 😂 I definitely see a Kika Kal in our future!! I am aware of the weight of the belle-it has a drapey-ness to it that does create a rather heavy fabric. But it was one of the recommended yarns for the project. So I’m going to be mindful of the weight as I go and I’ll probably block it when we hit about knee length to see what we’re really working with!
Great episode, as always! 😊 I found the "paper" in the corner a little bit distracting - but I think it's a case of getting used to it. Not a bad idea at all! 👍 One comment regarding the Clematis Vest and the sizing. I can see you're using Line which is a plant-based yarn (at least no wool in there) and it will grow more than a yarn which also includes an animal fibre. Could see that the original pattern is a 50-50 blend of cotton and wool, so I wouldn't think it grows as much as your knit naturally does. 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you so much for the feedback! Such a great thought about the Clematis. That could 100% explain the issues I’ve had! Always a good reminder that different fibers make a big difference. Thank you!!
Nora, I'm looking at your notes on the Clematis Vest. at minute 37:17 you talk about positive slack which is big. I want to tell you that the length of the armhole is also important, it will be under your bust! If you allow me, I will tell you that you must unweave up to 10 cm of strap. and from there start the increases in armhole. It should give you a strap height of 22 cm. no more! with the total width of 42 inches in back chest circumference and 44 inches in front chest circumference. It is more important to control the measurement in inches than the number of points. you have control. I love you!
I like the idea of the paper in the corner, but i did find it a bit distracting. I think maybe because it's partially covering you? Maybe it would be better in the corner above your head?

Maybe the upper right corner? But I didn't find it distracting and love that the info is there the whole time
I agree with moving it to the right side so it’s not covering you, but I do like seeing the project details in writing on the screen!
Also a little feedback - on mobile the watch bar covers up about half of the bottom line. Not a big deal, but thought you might like to know!
Love it! So helpful for taking notes! Love @JacqueisMaking too!
As someone with dyslexia, I love it but maybe use a lighter paper and a little bit of a more readable font 🙈
I like the idea of the little info paper in the corner, but that font and how small the info is make it hard to read. Maybe a non-cursive font in bold would help?

😂😂😂 I never even noticed! How funny!!
I agree completely with projects needing to be a little more complicated to zone out as you get more comfy with knitting. I've noticed that too. Take good care~ Kimberly
So interesting! Thank you!!
The paper in the corner is a great idea! It shows the words better to my eyes.... Enjoy watching your weekly podcast.
Thank you for the feedback!!
You just look so stunning in warm browns ❤
Thank you!!! 🥰
Love the information on the paper in the corner. Thanks
Hi Nora,

Definitely a great layering piece and it’s so nice to have that versatility from her patterns! I’m eager to try more from her
You're icords look fantastic.
Thank you!
I have been blocking as I work through my sweater, which definitely makes for a better fit.
Great job, Nora.

You have just inspired me to try something out with a vanilla vest 🤩 I love how you think outside the box!
Yayyy! Thinking outside the box ox is my specialty!
I was not attracted to the Clematis patterns when they came out. Now I am thinking I might make the tank next year! 😀

Great podcast!! Would you do a short on instagram showing how you maneuver the twist carry up of your yarn in your skirt?
Such a good idea! I’ll try and get it done soon!!
I think maybe little pearl buttons would make the vest look really classy, like the kind that has the little post on the back instead of holes that go through. IDK, just what popped in my head!

I love the new vest. Perfect neckline, gorgeous color, great fit! You go, girl!
Thank you thank you!! 🥰
Good afternoon! Ready for another podcast. I like the idea of the paper in the corner!
Hello hello!! Thank you!!!
Hi Nora. Thanks for another wonderful podcast. You make my day. Love all that you make. Love you Nora. Such a great personality. ❤😊
Thank you so so much 🥰
Love your thrift shop purchase! I used that yarn to make some mittens for myself and a baby hat. The mittens are awesome on a cold winter day.
Omg thanks for noticing how nursing friendly the best is! Now I want to cast one on since I won't have to wait till I'm finished nursing to wear it! Genius!
It’s the most stylish nursing top ever!!
I’m so glad you are ok! I wasn’t aware of the terrible weather Connecticut has been experiencing.
Thank you! It’s been wild but in grateful we’re alright 🥰
Good Morning! Coffee and knitting ready for my favorite Podcast! Oh my gosh Great Thrift!!! Really soft and warm!
Woohoo!!! Thank you so much for being here 💛 ☕️
Well that worked out well on a rainy afternoon in the UK sat down for a cup of tea and there you are glad your safe extremes of weather are getting more and more scary so thank God for knitting distractions your Tolsta tank Looks great on you Nora love the icord edging
Woohoo! Thank you so much 🥰

Thank you!! Hahaha I am trying to stay strong and finish what’s on my needles but then it is full steam ahead on fall knitting!
I love the color of your Tolsta tank! It looks great on you. I think the tortoise buttons would be fabulous against the black - so classic. Also, maybe make a throw pillow for your couch or your bed with the baby alpaca. That way you could try the yarn AND have an emotional support pillow too :)

That’s really really good to know! I wonder if there’s just a little too much ease built in. I’ll be curious to see how it works up in the end!
Always look forward to your posts. Great energy ❤
Thank you!!
I actually liked the little paper, and I didnt mind it in the lower left-hand corner. That leaves the rest of the screen for photos.
Thank you for the feedback!!
We love you Nora!! ❤ Thank you again for another wonderful episode!
You are right about blocking as you go, keep trying on and tweaking it. I’ve knit sweaters that I just knit and when I’m done, it doesn’t fit.
Glad you’re safe Nora! I lived most of my life near Redding CT and was absolutely blown away by the damage. Stay safe! Your knitting is fantastic and you’re one of my favorite podcaster. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
It is so so crazy out there! Thank you!! 🥰
I use the same row counter. However, I used it for cables so far.
Went and bought 6 Kutovakika patterns with your code 😅 honestly so worth it. I've been dreaming about a rust colored Salty Days sweater so that might need to happen v soon (Fall KAL inspired by her patterns maybe??)

My tops knit in Drops Belle are also shrinking with blocking!! I expected the opposite and went for a tighter gauge beforehand. 😭

Clematis; all vowels are short and the emphasis is on the second syllable.
Anyone have recommendations for light weight buttons? For a lace cardigan
Maybe a thin shell button? 😄 can’t wait to see what you’re making!
Why are there so many ads during your podcast?
