Apparently test audiences didn’t like her and that’s why Holly didn’t survive the shooting. I wonder why, she seemed a decent character to me. Can’t imagine CSI without Sara’s character though.
Doesn't the Holly chick, who you're supposed to sympathize with as the "new" CSI, get killed in the first episode or something? I remember even as a kid finding that to be a crazy twist. In retrospect it seems like they initially cast her to be a star of the show but she quit really soon after lol
They only film the pilot at first, and if it gets picked up then they start on subsequent episodes months later, so who knows if Holly had wanted to keep going after that much of a wait.
So I am rewatching the series. First off Holly getting hired that easily with all her fears is unrealistic. If it were that easy I would work for the Elite CSI unit. Then the comment by Catherine about cops not knowing a fingerprint. Cops at least work with effed up, creepy, ass hole living people. Working with the dead is nothing compared to that. Sure they have Masters and phds which is honorable. But to rudely downplay what Detectives and Cops due is prickish. Law and Order does that too about the uniforms being stupid. Hollywood loves to make everyone look like pompous jerks. Which only confirms that many successful people are....pompous jerks. Anyone can get a degree if they WANT it. Some people choose to "just be" a Detective.
I have the companion book Investigating CSI, which contains essays about the first three series some of which were written by actual crime scene people: after the show came out, one crime scene tech got mocked by a beat cop, asking her where her helicopter was. And then, coincidentally, a helicopter landed nearby.
Season 1: CSI level 1 Gribbs was armed. She acted like a kid. Season 9: CSI level 1 Langston was unarmed. He is the new guy and he dare acting like the whole world turn around him. Film 2015: CSI level 1 Lindsey knows the basics. No fears but not acting like the whole world depend of her. The only CSI level 1 who succeeded for me. The 2 others sucks.
Rachietwinrox that happened to be season six if you notice he wore for like 3 weeks and ended up getting rid of it.. I didn't mind the mustache but I also think he wore it and season 4..
It was anything but. There were four spinoffs, computer games, board games, tie-in novels, toys, and even an interactive attraction that used to travel but is now at the MGM Grand.

I think the Turkish series called "Arka Sokaklar" is inspired by these series. Looks like a super series. I hope I can find sometime to watch it.

I have the entire series on DVD. Willows is so sexy. Grissom,Warwick and Sara the best. Brass is hilarious.
