How you felt about William Petersen (Gil Grissom) leaving?
OSSA I was sad he left but I still watched the whole series.
When William Peterson left the whole tone of the show changed. I still watched up until the middle of the season where Ted Dansen came on.
I missed grissom. In fact when marg left also i missed her. Barely watched CSI after that
I was so distraught that I stopped watching when Gill left. 😖
I loved the show with Gil Grissom's character & may be the odd ball out by saying it only took a couple of episodes to get use to Ted Danson being on the show, I enjoyed his character as well. It remained my favorite show to the end.
I liked the chemistry of the original cast and even though Grissom's replacements are exceptional actors, it was never the same after he left.

When William Peterson let CSI it was heartbreaking because I loved how grisam always spotted things others missed
Stephen Patrick; yeah, for sure like when he calculated the asmuth between two peaks in the background of one side of a lake wherein he sighted the asmuth line drawn to the exact location of the cabin where bodies were buried in the place known as 'black mesa'. The episode is named after the creep who was coaching others to do his criminal bidding at the cabin and the entire CSI went to the location and saved one young college girl from being killed. Best episode with all the dead bodies exposed under the flooring of the cabin.
When William Peterson left the show, I left. He’s the only reason I watched it to begin with.
To me, the most tragic moment was when Warwick Brown was shot. I still watched the series, however, It was never the same without Warwick. Grissom leaving the show was the nail on the cocffin for me. It was never the same without him. :-(

I love csi and when Peterson left I cried because he made the show whole! The other actor that took his place were amazing but not as good as Peterson also nick aka George is my fav FOREVER
Loved all the cast members in their roles. The show never was a let down when it made cast changes. Best drama on TV at the time even if it took reality a bit too far. It was just fun to watch. Even now it's my favorite show to binge watch.
William Peterson as Gil Grissom was very charismatic. I was very disappointed when he left the show.
They should have bought Warwick back from the dead and left Grissom on the show. The original cast had the best chemistry. I wasn’t into the other cast on CSI
Yeah, Peterson was the best when he always had some offhand comment to make, like when a restaurant had a whole arm stuck in a meat grinder, when he says, 'I need a hand here,' then everything stops and goes to the credits with 'The Who' playing in the background.
Grissom was the one character i looked forward to when watching CSI

When William Peterson left CSI it was never the same. Peterson played the main character Grisham so good. He was CSI.
I tried to keep interested after William Petersons exit and they did bring in a few pretty impressive replacements but I stopped watching shortly after Grissom was written off the show. It just didn't work for me anymore.

William Peterson left to get married and concentrate on family life, as well as the theatre. I liked Laurence Fisburne as a replacement but he didn't stay long and nothing was the same without Gil Grissom. I watched a few episodes with Ted Dansen but I've never been a fan.
i just binge watched all 15 season within two months and yeah, i agree...when gil left, it seemed slow! but i made it though, and i enjoyed all the seasons
Tarantino directed two episodes in season 5 episods 24 and 25, Grave Danger 1 and 2. The reason that he took the job was because Grissoms caracter, he said in an interview 🙂
There will never be another actor in the same league as William, full stop. He was the greatest actor that has ever lived IMO

When Gil Grissom left CSI the heart of the show went with him. The relationships did not gel as well afterwards. Plus the marriage of Sarah & Gil was never carried through.

George and his ex-wife are friends. He took her and their daughter to the Bahamas. There is no animosity there, which is good for their daughter.

Things are never the same when original cast members leave the show. I have watched all 3 CSI franchises loved them all. Only had a couple of dislikes for some characters. Thank goodness for reruns they'll be forever in my world:-)

When I found out life was imitating art with Dourdan, the drugs and all, I was really disappointed.
William Petersen shouldn't have left the show. It wasn't the same after he left. He and Jorja Fox's characters had good chemistry.
I agree with what you said about the show not being the same after Petersen left. But Grissom and Sara definitely do *not* have good chemistry. They were a horrible couple.

Eric Szmanda is gay. He's been with the same guy for like 20 years. The woman pictured was never his girlfriend. She's a fashion designer and close friend.

After Grissom was gone I felt like the show lost it's heart and soul and I just couldn't watch anymore. (also just a totally random side note...love the cameo of Ryland Adams in this vid lmao)

Only watched up to end of Season 11 plus the Season 15 finale....Whilst Ray wasn't Grissom, he did bring more to the table than DB did. However Danson seems to be more stable and likeable in real life though.

Yeah, Peterson was the best with his off hand comments. Like, 'I'm going to need a hand here,' when he finds one arm in a meat grinder which he has to pull out, with the background 'The Who', music comes on with the credits for that particular episode comes up.

I pretty much stopped watching the show when William Petersen left. I was devastated.
The show was still good after Billy left, but it wasn't great. Some of the storylines were pretty contrived and sometimes dumb though I am still a fan of the series, in fact, all 3 series. I was, however, disappointed that he left, you just don't leave a show that is that great.

I thought Ted Danson breathed new life into CSI...after Peterson left I quit watching the show but started again after Danson started and fell in love with the show again. Never could see the Gil and Sarah connection...didn't feel genuine. Sorry it went off the air.
