CAN YOU DOUBLE TAP THE WIRES, SHOULDN'T YOU PIGGY BACK THEM?
I'm an HVAC Tech 30 years even though you shut of the breaker you should verify with your volt meter,
You're right. He should also have rubber insulating hot gloves and insulating hand tools but most HVAC techs aren't trained properly. One of the worst assumptions is that no one gets electrocuted except for electricians, electrical safety is treated as electriCIAN safety. HVAC techs are exposed to the same hazards all the time yet they get no electrical safety training or PPE.
Always Lock Out/Tag Out before working on electrical systems.
How about the Y1 wires???
Hi there can you guys please make a video on how to install a Intermatic AG3000 surge protector on a furnace unit.
GREAT JOB!! THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME MONEY !!
The instructions that come with the device say attach the black wires to load side. From the manual: “a typical installation of the compressor defender connects to the load side of the electrical service panel…”
Good morning! Thank you for your inquiry! Unfortunately, for that information and set up an assistance of an electrician is needed as we are only knowledgeable on our items with the provided specifications. That particular inquiry will depend on the set up in person. Please let us know if you have any questions or need any assistance with our products on 1000bulbs.com!
Where did the black wire go that comes out of the bottom towards the compressor?
If you have any questions regarding installation, please speak with a licensed electrician. This video is from Intermatic, republished on our channel.
When you link out to the CD1-024R 24 VAC Contactor Wiring Diagram (www.intermatic.com/-/media/inriver/13821-12366.ashx/CD1-024R%2024%20VAC%20Contactor%20Wiring%20Diagram), you see that the "lead" splits out into two wires. The current Y1 wire on the contactor comes off and is attached (wire nut) to the Y1 (RED Wire) on the CD1-024R Lead. The Y1 CDP1-024R (Black wire) connects back to the contactor where the original Y1 wire was.
Not really sure why this point was not brought up in the video seeing how simple it is to do.
@@erichoward5565 just purchased this and was wondering if you could elaborate on where the 2 wires go that attach to the compressor
My icm517 has 2 black, 1 white and 1 green. Now how to wire the white?
L. GT you don’t use the white just cut it off
Where do you connect the black&red wire on the compressor?
