Just by initial impressions alone, I figured this game would be a great lightweight game, and you're teach and playthrough has solidified it for me. Thanks for all you do and safe travels to Indianapolis for Gen Con. Hope to see you there!
Very good video. Many thanks! This game looks like a lot of fun! Only one remark: At 30:00 you get the coin from the green free spot and not the red one. In the end it doesn`t matter but I`ve just wanted to point it out that benefit relies on connected buildings and not color region you are in, right?! At least that`s how you`ve explained it....
Thank you for the teach! I was introduced to this one on BGA and immediately enjoyed it but didn't quite grasp what was going on immediately. Very helpful!
What a pretty game. I love the snappy turns with enough analysis and strategy to really make you think about your next turn. Definitely a buy. Thanks guys!
I have been wanting to learn this one. It looks beautiful and I have a few friends who know how to play! Thank you for this teach and playthrough! It will help me win hahahaha!! Also, I hope you enjoyed the all-dressed chips. I am eating some right now :)
This is a surprise game of this year since I only found out about it from several best game of the year videos. So I did go to my FLGS today and they did have a copy of it. Plus I love the LoFR setting. Though the game only has 4 out of the 8 Clans and I would had love to have my Clan (I.E. Dragon) in the game. So maybe something for an expansion later. But a good over review and play through of the game. Also the components and great and the price point for the game is also great. Quite simple to learn but has some depth to the game.
After almost coming to a halt buying new games after the well known first phase of going down the new hobby rabbithole im really interested in the game. Superb explanation as always from you guys.😊
Great Job! The only thing I would recommend is the set-up procedure (different amount of players) and a close up on cards and tiles when your talking about them.
As a kiwi your cadence in the play through is easy to understand, but I struggled in the teach section. Bloody enjoyed that you carried on the teach in the play through - so big big thanks.
I've got a couple of plays under my belt on BGA but this teach & playthrough really helps me understand what I should be looking at! Hopefully my next game will score higher. :)
Interesting take on the L5R universe, but really stoked to see they brought the Mantis Clan back. Looks pretty fun! Thanks for the great explanation :)
Great play. It's a good game and I have always love the lore of L5R since I used to play the card game. Monique flush with koku most of the game LOL. Great job Naveen.
Oh, this board game is set in Rokugan (the setting for the CCG and later TTRPG Legend of the Five Rings). I think it might have been worth mentioning that in the beginning, even if I'm sure most people watching this video probably haven't heard of it. The game itself didn't grab me, but I'm not a fan of track and area majority scoring so that's hardly the game's fault. Thanks for the video! Edit: I see Naveen can, indeed, swim (this is a joke that only makes sense if you are familiar with Rokugan)
I want to know who thought you could trade money for goods. I saw an accusatory finger point. So I think I can guess…. LOL. GREAT teach. I got this one for my birthday and I am very excited to try it.
@@andrewimpellezzeri3886 This was a good question, but the rules say that a player does not gain any influence for placing a second marker on a building. Influence is only gained by the building player when it is first built.
Seems like a number of similarities in the theme of this with le Havre - how would you compare the two games or which game would you recommend owning if you could only choose one?
Nice play through as usual. Why did Monique get one more turn after Naveen ended the game? Monique was first player right? so she got an extra turn. I assume thats in the rules, but it seems odd.
Hi, I think it looks more intense due to the shine down of the studio lights. When viewing the board at playing level, a lot more of the blue from the river comes through. Hope that helps!
i appreciate your teach of the game. this game has been added to BGA recently and your tutorial helps a lot!
So glad we were able to help out! We’ve tried the BGA implementation and it does a great job porting it over.
same for me 😊thanks
Watched the video. You made everything so clear. Love the content keep up the amazing work

So happy you found our video helpful! Hope you’ll get to try this one out soon! 😀
I am pleasantly surprised by this game. I hadn't heard anything about it. Thank you, as always for the impeccable teach and playthrough!
Thank you so much for all your support over the years! We really appreciate your kind comments. 😊
Superb, clean teach. Well done! I am outta here for today but I will come to watch your playthrough. 😀
Hope you enjoy!
@ I did!
Great teach! This game looks great. Thanks for showcasing it!
Thank you very much! Hope you can try it out.

Hope you enjoy it!

I'm always amazed with Monique's "today" entonation!
Haha 😂
true :D it should be set as a morning alarm
This game looks so pretty! We'll have to put this on our list of games to try!
Thanks for the great playthrough! I'm playing this on BGA and this helped a lot 👍
👋 Thanks so much! Hope you’ve been doing well!

This game looks like a lot of fun. I love the adjacent dice tray with the ship too!

Excellent teach and playthrough as always guys.

@@BeforeYouPlay Now the game needs a german publisher ^^

Wow, I was so wrong on how this was played...thanks for the understanding..now to find someone to play with over on BGA!
I've got a couple of plays under my belt on BGA but this teach & playthrough really helps me understand what I should be looking at! Hopefully my next game will score higher. :)
Glad to hear that! Hope you've been having fun!

We haven’t played LotFR so the joke flew over our heads lol!😂
Enjoyable game definitely want to play
You guys are playing all the right games right now 🤧
Thank you!
This game together with Amalfi Renaissence are My two favorito games on bga now. Nice play !
That’s great to hear! We still haven’t tried either version of Amalfi.
@@BeforeYouPlay oh I love it. Try it! It is a medium game really good.
Feels like a blend between monopoly, castles of Burgandy, and something else
I want to know who thought you could trade money for goods. I saw an accusatory finger point. So I think I can guess…. LOL. GREAT teach. I got this one for my birthday and I am very excited to try it.
this game is amazing.....luv it!
Love your dice rolling trays that you use in these play throughs, where do you get them from?
nice game
That dice tray is very pretty. Anyone knows where is that from? Where can I purchase it?
You forgot to take 2 rep at 25:10 in zone 6.
Also I am not positive but I believe when you put that first monk on that building you would have gotten 4 more rep as well

Great play through. So much fun. It made me want to get the game immediately, but I can’t find it anywhere. Will it be more readily available in 2025?
It should be widely available again in March

At 51:00 Monique didn't get her 3 coins for her shrines when davine landed in the zone 1 spot :)
Reminds me a little of Ulm
Hi. Thanks for the video. Is it right to play two? Thanks
Hi there, yes we feel you get the full experience at all player counts + turns are relatively quick.
I bought this. Now I need friends. 😅
Haha
Really great playthrough - even if Scorpion won 😅
Thanks you so much! Excited to see what else you come up with! 🙂
At 25:00, shouldn’t she have also gained two influence?
They missed a lot of rewards in this, but yes

The first person to place the last tile from Era 2 immediately scores 5vp, then every other player gets 1 final turn.
Thank you
🙂👍
😃
I understand why the River has so much yellow/gold all over it, but it is so visually disruptive for me.

Not just me then. :)
