    Hai John. Nice Explanation!. Can this method be applied in managing layer or atribut manager in archicad?

    Exellent. Would it be possible to show us this with squaremters and volumes? I have a Problem myself with the listing .

      For metric, it's important to change the calculation units and dimension settings that show up on interactive schedules. I have a few videos in metric, including the 60 minute challenge video, the last live stream I already sent over:) Thanks Ulrike!

    Great. But something to ask: in your template it is posible to change $ in any other currency? Can you calculate the costs for example in € or £?

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  3 года назад +1

      Definitely! I'd always recommend to input in whatever currency you work in, but I've created some tools to also help convert from USD-Imperial Units to Metric-International currency. It's pretty easy to setup some expressions to do all the work for you. On the excel side you just have to change the currency symbols...

      @@nemeseduard4736 That might take a little more work. There are some tools to help translate within Excel but it's a bit of a slow process. What language are you trying to use?

    This is great for cost estimating, but the quantities seem to be too abstract, unless there is something I'm missing! Is there a separate list that includes specifications to all those materials?

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  4 года назад

      Hi Marian. Sure all the information can be reported in an endless amount of ways. For quantification and cost estimating, you don't necessarily need ever detail. But it's easy to include additional fields for any model element in a project, all comes from the same source!

    • @mariansdraila
      @mariansdraila 4 года назад

      @@CONTRABIM I know you can, but I was wondering if you have such a list that includes material specifications!

    Thank you so much for this great video.
    I’m just wondering about these formulas you used to link it to your template.
    I’d like to get it, I have GFA deductions and unit counts In separate sources from Archicad but I couldn’t rearrange them to the master stats sheet.
    Thank you

      Hello, thanks for the comment! Yes this excel file is setup with lots of formulas. I'm going to do a top "formula" cheat sheet download soon which contains my favorites. Look out for this coming down the pipe!

    Amazing! First of all, excellent process development. I followed through but have "teeny tiny" question/ comment; How do you make sure elements from hidden layers or other hidden Boolean Operator elements are *totally* excluded from any final count. I understand the standardization in templates and all but during modeling, some caution is thrown out of the window. Could we do a layer-based/ ArchiCAD element type (you mentioned materials) summary?

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment, and great question! I often run the check for duplicates as one way to perform QA/QC. I also constantly am highlighting listings from the schedule in 3D, to make sure that the scope of work is as intended. I also use different "Audit" reports to ensure quality. As part of the reporting, I tend to avoid any layer based criteria, and focus more on assigned properties based on the trades I'm trying to takeoff and price. This helps in the listing so that it's a bit more purposeful, than by layer assignment which can be easily misplaced. The great thing about running reports in Archicad, is you can report the same content a million different ways. So yes! We can do a summary be layers, to check proper layer assignment. We can do a summary by type. We can do a summary be materials (in component reports). We can do a summary be CSI Codes, Uniformat Codes, sky is the limit. All of these referencing the same elements, just through different reports.

    is there way to use elementary AC24 things to create costs and calculations without your personal commercial template.....its too much complex to follow.....

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  3 года назад

      Hi Silvio. Yes you can always run interactive schedules based on any criteria you set to organize the the elements, and you can setup expression based properties to run some cost calcs directly in Archicad. You may be interested in the next version of my workflow, which is much simpler, more automated, and easier to use. About 20 reports instead of 60! I'll start showing it in a few weeks:) Thanks for the question!

      Thanks Rodrigo! Yes it definitely can, the system I demonstrated was based on CSI Masterformat and Uniformat coding. What classification are you using? I’m very much interested in providing a version customized for Latin America

    • @geekarchitect
      @geekarchitect 4 года назад

      CONTRABIM , thanks! Actually there isn’t a system classification assigned for Latinamerican BIM users, but, we tend to use Omniclass, Uniclass and Masterformat. In my company we are planning to develop a localized system based on Masterformat and Uniclass but we still have a long way ahead. Would you be interested in any translation and adaptation collaboration with us? We will love to be part of what you are working on, it looks solid, as anything in this world, this could be better and better in the future. Very promising work! (
