My family's played OblivAeon once so far. We had to spread it out over three days, and we lost with OblivAeon in his final form at 2 HP. That was the most painful moment of my Sentinels career.

Oblivaeon is essentially Sentinels' version of Crisis on Infinite Earths and the Anti-Monitor.
That would make sense, though I know nothing about that saga. Am looking forward too seeing CWs portrayal of it next year though in the Arrowverse
@@TheBrokenMeeple, Well the long and short of it is that you had a being (the Anti Monitor) who began destroying various alternate universes. So all the heroes from different timelines and alternate versions of the same heroes had to come together to defeat him across space and time.
What do you personally suggest is the best strategy to keep track of all the information? Do you have any great apps to suggest? (You mentioned something about a psychic app at 20:07). I also really liked your strategy about each player keeping track of an aspect of the game (scions, aeons, enviornment etc.)

Love the vid. I've been playing SOTM for about a year now and have gone all in on this game, even getting The Cauldron and even looking forward to Sentinels of Earth Prime. Out of curiosity what kind of sleeves did you use and do have any recommendations for how to protect the oversized villain cards?
I just used basic standard size sleeves, no premium stuff, just too many cards. I haven't actually protected my oversized cards, they don't get used often enough individually to matter too much.
Great review thanks, the KS took so long to get out I have not really played SOM for a while with so many other games to play. Going to have to get in a bunch of regular games again before i attempt this.
It's good to see someone else notice Legacy is best compared to Captain America rather than Superman.
Yeah if you listen to the letter's page podcast ep about him it becomes very clear that he is cap with some of supes abilities
I would say he is mixed between both Cap and Superman.

Is there a way to play Sentinels from the beginning, all the way up to Oblivaeon in a canpaign like, story-telling, method? From the heroes fighting individually, to teaming up to brcome the Freedom Five or the Prime Wardens, and then clashing with Progeny, and building up towards Oblivaeon?
Not that I know of - unless some fans on BGG have come up with it. You could just simply play several games in order - use a mixture of the Freedom Five gang at first, then do a 5 v 5 Vengeance setup, and then move on to Progeny, then Oblivaeon?
@@TheBrokenMeeple it would be interesting if they created storybook content where some games are setup in specific ways to emulate a story ala Marvel's 10 year MCU journey. Something similar to what they did with Nemesis' Untold Stories. That's more content for the game and revenue. LOL

The problem is, it would be too long. And so much setup. Plus with my camera I would have to scroll around the whole table while piloting 3-4 decks, that's just too much.

excellent vid dude. only got into SOTM base game 2 weeks ago and hoovered up a few big box expansions already. aint ready for this one tho. Question, where did u get the custom tokens from as the base game ones dont really track alot of things? I live in Scotland btw so would be good ro know where u got them. Cheers mate.
I don't think I have any custom tokens per say. The Collector's Box that I have I think came with updated tokens so maybe that's what you're thinking of.
If tracking is hard I recommend the SIDEKICK app on iOS, that helps a lot with tracking HP's. I'm usually good at tracking effects by now from practice. BGG might have some files as well submitted by users that could help.

Can't wait for my copy to come in the mail. I have been debating sleeving everything but looking at your set I think that might be an issue. Do you think they would fit if you sleeved the rest of the new content? I only saw the 2 foam blocks being used and everything else was quite full.
TheDarktater I eventually bought the rest of the sleeves I needed, everything fits fine. However note I'm using standard thickness sleeves not premium.
Great, thank you! I don't think I could afford to drop the money on 3000+ premium sleeves, so standard would be the way to go anyway.
what sleaves do you use? mine does not fit like that sleeved. (not all cards are in the box).

@@TheBrokenMeeple thanks. also thank you for the video. its great to hear a other persons perspective. the keeping track off stuf is to mutch with team games if i have to do it by myself, so i dont know yet about oblivaeon. altough spirit island is more of a brain burn, not so mutch to keep track of stuf but to do the optimal path with all the powers going off.
mabee some fans changed rules for oblivaeon to shorten it? the problem with shortening it, does it do so by sacrificing the feel or a part of the ballance?.
ill probebly plan a day for oblivaeon with people that played this one a few times, and see what happens.
Should be fun. As a side note, you should really do yourself a massive favor and order the cauldron sets online. They have gtgs blessing, (and a cut,) to have them printed on demand and they are seriously some of the best characters for the whole game, both conceptually and in terms of interesting mechanics. Good stuff. Personal favorite, Titan, the totally-not-hellboy char.

21:00 I've never found any epic game that meets up to the play length indicated on the box. All of them are at least 1 to 2 hours longer than what's said.
For anyone who may stumble across this, the game is being revitalized in the form of a miniatures board game, (much better than Tactics) by Arcane Wonders and published by the originators of the game... and it looks absolutely amazing! Is there a way to get all of the expansions in one purchase?
They had a KS for this expansion which gave you the option, otherwise, best look at various stores online.
Where did you get your custom bags made?
Also what tab is between Kagara Warfang and Kismet?
D4N0GG1N The bags used an image file from BGG and then I used a voucher on ArtsCow.com to do a bunch of bags for many games.
Off the top of my head the tab might be the special arena title deck for Warfang.

I really wanted to like this game. Unfortunately I could never get into Sentinels. Mainly because of the bookkeeping... And the art even though not horrible... It's a hit and miss with me. I would have liked something closer to Freedom Force (videogame) that had a kirby-esk style that looked amazing. That said I may looked again into it again after all I have come a long way in boardgaming since I tried Sentinels... Cheers

I've been afraid to fight Oblivaeon. 10,000 hp in the first phase, 3 phases to deal with. It's intimidating.
You don't actually take down 10000 hp , it's just to highlight he's indestructible until you take a shield down which then moves him on to Stage 2 .

@@angrytheclown801 don't get me wrong, it's a long scenario, and your choice of shield he gets will impact that, definitely enjoyable but one for die hard Sentinel fans.
