Super random but thanks for consistently keeping the channel PG with language. I enjoy sharing these with my 4 year old and hopefully my younger kids as they get older. We enjoy herping in our property!
I'm just amazed how you see all these snakes. I live in a wooded area and rarely see snakes in my yard or in the woods. But, I know they see me. Awesome video!
I would plan a vacation around having you guys take me out looking for kings and indigos in either Florida or Georgia, whichever one works. We’re talking bucket list. I grew up in southern Florida and spent most of my childhood herping, so the nostalgia for me would be amazing!
I've seen two this year, which is HUGE considering I've only ever seen four. Finally found some good cruising roads this year though, I used to do nothing but flip.
@@typicalshenaniganz yea cruising has definitely been paying off this year. The first Mole King I found was a flip find though. Kings seem to like the time before and after storms. Haven't quite pinpointed it, but warm overcast days tend to be better for finding snakes in general.
"A cool day of only 77 degrees..." 😆 No amount of herps would make a southern life worth it for me. Love the fresh shed ratsnake - the black ratsnakes with lots of pattern retained in adulthood are best.
Just got a tally of 5 copperheads at a place I’ve never seen a snake at before hahahaha. Also saw some fellow herpers there looking for em too. It was a great evening and then I found out you uploaded. Perfect
Congrats for getting over COVID! And for saving those turtles; always love to see that, my dad would stop every time he saw one (NW FL/Panama City area, lots of species but we saved a ton of Boxes and Gophers in particular) and I'd skitter out of the car to move whatever turtle was out in the road. Man, that really was a pretty Copperhead-- loved those spots!
Damn bro, sorry to here you got covid. I'm glad you're back up and at it. Great video. I always say that but I don't think I have seen you put out a video that wasn't great. I hope you enjoyed your Arkansas trip. I live right next to Little Rock. I'll be sitting g here finding out to see the next video you drop. Thanks for the content. I'll catch you on the flipside. Richard and Heather from Arkansas
Garter snakes used to be so common where I lived in Western Washington in the 60’s and 70’s, I’d catch as many a I could carry by the tails (bring them home, put them in a bucket and they’d escape to live another day)
I was sitting on my back porch about a month ago and noticed something odd swaying on my fence, it looked odd because it was so light colored at night, it ended up being an albino rat snake, that was a very cool find. I let it go and now I wish I had kept it.
your so lucky!! but i would never recommend taking a wild snake from the wild- there so used to eating outside, living outside, etc. it would be almost impossible to keep it in captivity. As they would probably die. But don’t get me wrong, i would too
I would have to have a lot more confidence in my vision and a snake's unwillingness to bite before I would go herping in Copperhead and Timber habitat with open toed sandles. This was another excellent episode. Those first two box turtles were really vivid with their wet shells. Also, weirdly I don't see the upvote button for this video, only the thumbs down button is visible.
I know I think about that every time he goes out wearing those and shorts, especially with vipers under the tin he’s flipping or just walking through the woods. Those heatseeking pits aren’t just for looks
Plot Twist - The OG Rat Snake wanted to join you on the bike to warn you of that mean Corn Snake. That snek was a douche. I love Box Turtles. For a laugh, type in "Family Guy Box Turtle" lol Take care
I wonder how many things you have to flip in a day to find snakes? I've flipped a lot of rocks in my region of GA and found nothing but salamanders and bark scorps.
I’ve flipped hundreds and found nothing some days. Other days I’ve found many. Mostly common stuff but some good. If you are not flipping anything move to another spot. And keep moving till you do find something. The best flipping is in cooler weather like spring or fall. Early mornings or afternoons. I’ve been with Noah on days where we both flipped hundreds of rocks and found very few snakes. While covering about 7 miles of terrain in the mountains. Good luck and don’t give up!
@@davidfield23 It's crazy how easy he makes it look in these videos. I imagine if he live-streamed a day of hunting it'd be a ton of nothing huh? There's a river near where I'm flipping with lots of rolling hills. I figured I'd at least find ringnecks, but nadda so far. Guess I'll keep at it!
Exactly. Yesterday he did eleven and a half miles and found a few. He works his butt off. Sometimes the snakes are mostly on one side of the hill and not the other depending on what side is wetter or dryer, what side gets morning or afternoon sun, etc. Sometimes it’s an extreme difference. I’ve seen mountain sides where one side will have a ringneck and maybe a garter but the other side will be covered with timbers, copperheads, garters, and more. I’ve hunted for days in the Sandhills without finding anything and the next time I go I’ll find 10 in a day within just a few hours.

Some real nice specimens Noah. That Garter is a screamer.
That is a HUGE garter. I had a small one poop/musk on me yesterday 😂 Blue Dawn is my best remedy, works like a charm.

At least the garter snake musk is a good smell test. Also nice timbers and corn snake.
Some of these harmelss snakes be like, "Put me down!" and pull a Snips! This is hilarious.

Beautiful snakes ❤❤❤
Great stuff! That’s how my wife and I go to all our snake areas that are far from the parking spots. That’s a nice stick! Did you make it yourself?
Box turtles missing toes are often males who lost them during fights with other males during mating season.
Man you should sell snake hooks as a side hustle with all the sick herping videos
Another great video, informative and entertaining good job

When you flip tin, do you have spots on public land or are they mostly private?
I've never seen such big garter snakes. Growing up they were always slender and small (maybe I only ever saw babies??).

Noah do you know anyone in ellijay that can come move a bunch of copperheads for me - just curious man I’ve tried asking everywhere else

for the love of potatoes, get some boots. making my anxiety go through the roof.
