I used to find those white frogs in my outdoor grill on the 2nd floor of my condo in Asheville often. It got to the point where I had to check always before cooking.
The Copperhead used to be my favorite snake, due to how pretty they are. Then I met Bully, a 4 and a half foot long Gaboon Viper. Wow, the colors that this snake had plus it patterns, made it easily the prettiest snake I've ever seen. Now there are some snakes that look like a rainbow, depending on how the light hits their scales. Those are pretty too, but the Gaboon Viper is like this no matter how the light hits them. This doesn't mean I still don't love the Copperhead. There will always be a place in my heart for them. They are native to where I live, but due to all the new neighborhoods being built around me, I don't see as many as I used too. They used to be everywhere and now if you see one in a month, you are very lucky. Like always, great video. Take care and be safe.
Man, I thought that copperhead was about to get straight smoked! Awesome content as always. Alot of great species and good neighbors. Thanks for the effort you put into this and all other videos. Catch you on the flip-side. Richard and Heather from Arkansas

Nice kingsnakes, ratsnakes and copperheads. I didn’t know that mud turtles can have head variations too. Very unique eclypse herping, I am sure it has been never done, particularly on video.
Man, indigos and bull snakes are my favorite snakes. Have you guys ever caught a bull snake? Feisty snakes, I know. I know you guys caught a nice amount of indigos. Beautiful snakes. I would love to catch one and tame it.
I'm surprised you didn't see any five lined skinks out basking. My pet five lined skinks have been basking a lot lately. Especially all of my females. I think that some of my females are in the early stages of being gravid because they are noticeably gaining weight. There's still a lot of mating activity still going on too. That's why I love keeping them outside, because they go through the same natural cycle that the wild ones do. Too many people who keep them for pets keep them inside in an aquarium. There's not necessarily anything wrong with that as long as they are kept correctly but you are unlikely to get any breeding behavior because they get the same cycle throughout the year and aren't exposed to the natural seasonal cycles that they would get outside. I can't wait to get more babies to release on my property this year. Now I'm starting to see large adults on my property which is awesome. It's only been about 5 years since I've stocked my property with them. They are a beautiful native lizard in my opinion.
Have you tried going to local parks? Literally every park in Atlanta has Kingsnakes and other common species, they’re just not as easy to find as it look in these videos because years of work and experience are being condensed into a 15-20 minute video. The bigger the park the better, and the further from the city you go the more diversity you’ll see. Sometimes smaller parks are actually easier to find common snakes in because they are condensed due to development. I don’t condone sharing specific spots because they’ll be overrun with people, but be persistent. May is a great month. When we get into June snakes will become harder to find due to the heat.
Silly question. Is there some tin-flipping etiquette…? Your friend seemed disappointed that someone disturbed his stack. It’s not “ legally “ yours” I guess…. But at least they should have restored it to it’s proper position…?
My rule has always been, if I stumble across someone’s tin while hiking, I can flip it, but you should always put it back exactly as found - not only to be polite to the person who put it there, but also so as not to destroy the micro habitat for snakes that may be using it. Hope that helps 👍
“king” snake. they’e known for eating venomous snakes through constriction. (edit) i heard somewhere that they’re immune to venom from birth to death might be off tho.
That garter snake was a heckin' chonker! I've never seen one that big.
She's beautiful!

Nature with Gabe = good people. Cool to see you guys hanging. Wild observation with that king crawling through next to the copperhead.
That copperhead was not having a good day between getting uncovered by you *and* having that big kingsnake scare.
🤣 literally
It's like being woken up by a giant ripping your roof off, followed by a werewolf ambling out of your closet and yawning...
Agreed the copper was glad the King wasn’t hungry!
What even was that scene

It was almost a king snake having brunch… almost! 😂
The fringe tree at 7:09 is SPECTACULAR!
At 7:32, the butterfly appears to be an Eastern tiger swallowtail.
It's cool how at 15:28 you can see the actual shape of the eclipse in the lens flair.
Enjoying the nature walks here.
Great king - copperhead observation!

In the area around Cheshire bridge road, there are lots of snakes. I’ve encountered one that was at least 6 feet long. Even have a photo.
Watched the video for a good 15 seconds before i realized there was a copperhead in that shot
That has to be the biggest Garter snake I’ve ever seen
I don’t know what it is but you seem to find the most herps of anyone I’ve ever seen.

02:30 called the copperhead 😂😂
New herper in Atlanta too! How do you recommend handling herping through the summer months when it gets too hot for herps?
Avoid the heat of the day and stick close to water! Summer is a good time to get out of the city and drive quiet backroads at night too.
The white frog looks like a Cuban tree frog which is an invasive species that eats native frogs.
It’s not.
Not to sound dumb, but would the copperhead take out that other snake? Sorry I am terrified of copperheads! And do not know about snakes,
Copperhead would actually make a nice meal for the King snake, they constrict venomous snakes and eat them.
Sweet! Sunday upload :), random question, did you photograph the albino Cornsnake from a couple years back?
So if you want some more copper heads I got a few that need to be removed from my back yard 😅
Cute frog
Garter snakes get to be 6 ft long in our area
Every racer I come across doesn't like me being near. Always strikes. I'm in NC so we're basically neighbors
I'm so scared, everyone!
Friend, tell me, please! Why do you have sheets of iron lying everywhere in the forest?
Very cute
Hey! I live in Atlanta and Im trying to find good places for Herping. Does anyone have any recommendations? ANY would be appreciated

Noah you ever come across a king eating a copperhead? Or anything else? I remember the rat snake feasting
Haven’t seen a wild Kingsnake eating yet, hopefully one day!

How would the king snake kill the copperhead? Constriction? And is the king immune to copperhead venom?

Yep, constriction. And yes, Kingsnakes are largely resistant to venom from other snakes.

Have you ever seen a king snake in a marsh
Often! They love water of any kind
Please mention, for those not aware of it, when you see SFD and sanitize. We are lucky not to have much in my area, but many are not so lucky.
Much nicer to cook food than grab it with out teeth wrap our bods around it and then gulp it down
Why are there so many metal things out in the woods
They place the tin there themselves

Why is this mam giggling so much?

Just leave them alone.

Snakes that r no venomous need to b left alone. These snakes r part of natural ecosystem. Dont bother us.
Tf are you talking about, all snakes are natural and they can handle them as long as they’re careful and put them back where they find them
