In this video, I will search through a box of wheat pennies that I purchased from my coin dealer. I was able to purchase these coins that had small cents that included a few Indian Head Cents for only 2x face value! My Silver Dealer knows the things I like and sold all of his extra coins to me for a great deal. Since I usually purchase all the old silver and he knows I like copper too, he let me get it all! I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. Hopefully you all enjoy this video! I am continually amazed by your ability to just put your head down and plow through hours upon hours of coin searching. My neck and my back could never put up with it. Another great video!
I saw the video was 25 minutes long - and I said "sweet"! Two-times face for wheaties is an incredible buy! Those steelies were amazing! And those 1941 DDO's - unreal!! Another great video!
In the 70's I paid my friends 2 cents for every wheatie they had. I thought that was the way to go then. Maybe, maybe not. I'd do it in a heartbeat today.
That must have been an absolute BLAST to go through. It was certainly fun to watch! I probably could have sat with you for the full 10 hours of searching and scoping, watching over your shoulder! Epic!
@@NandiCollector to be honest, I was disappointed the video was a short as it was. I could have watched another half hour, watching RFT pull and scope all those teens, 20s, and 30s wheat cents!
Very interesting. I used to collect years ago and we don't get much in the UK from America. I had a few Morgan and peace dollars with a few eagle halves and Kennedy halves and a clad dollar.
I only got six wheats in my bag of pennies from New Hampshire yesterday but one of them was a BU 1956P just like you got a whole roll of. What a coincidence!
More than decades,do you separate each year also? I do each year from 1940 to 1983 in quart containers. They take up alot of space. The thirty's and older are by decades. Watching these videos keeps me going to the bank and keep getting boxes of pennies to go thru.
That 58-D is machined, they look like that after they've been popped out of those aluminum lucky penny tokens! I've probably gone through 500 pounds or more of wheats at my job, gets boring sometimes but if I was doing it for myself I know that would be a blast. Plus a rare coin comes out once in a blue moon.
I have a cent much like that damaged 58 you showed. Like the same exact type of damage. I think it’s from one of those “lucky coin” holder things, at least from what I’ve read online.
I have a hat box full of rolled cents all 40s-50s. I sort earlier and keep them separate. I think copper content is 2.5 cents per coin these days, so 2x face is great.
He gets all the nickel and copper stuff at face value. He offers 2x face for that stuff for me, BUT he does tell the customers that they are welcome to take it to a coin shop. This is usually after he has agreed to buy whatever silver/gold/etc they have.
Hopefully you find some good stuff for your book! Even put a book together from what you find from your silver dealer! (Commenting before I watch this)
They are saying it was a good luck coin but looks to me like the collar was closed when that penny was struck making it a struck through collar/broad strike but only way to know is more research…. That’s a crazy good deal thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏼👊🏼
I went thru a similar size penny hoard and also found a 'rimmed' cent like the '58-D shown here. I would like to understand how it might happen. Let me know if I can help or if you get a definitive explanation of this type of coin.
This video reminds me of being a kid and getting rolls of pennies at the bank and you would’ve occasionally find wheat pennies in regular bankrolls and filling out about 80% of a collection of Lincoln sense from just looking through change
looks we both got a 1941 fs-102, found mines last week after buying a bag of wheat cents, had the same doubling on the motto. this makes it my first variety ever (:

Been wanting to get one of your penny hunting mats.... Finally did it. Lol If you're interested in trading a $25 box of pennies from Virginia for a nickel mat is love to trade with you.
Very cool idea to ask you silver dealer to get you. Love to no what he gave. He could not made much of anything. As well how the dealer even find these ppl to sell so cheep?
Many commenters say it is a penny from a lucky coin holder that was removed. I have a few of the Lucky Coin Pennies and without removing them from the holders, it does appear to have similar "damage."
Hello Rob, I have a 1983-D that weighs 2.91 grams. In your opinion what do you think I have? Too heavy for zinc, but under copper weight. Can you please direct me how to see if this is of value? Thanks Dennis
There is no easy way to search bulk penny hoards if you're looking for Varieties. 750 rolls or 37,500 pennies takes me about 7 days working everyday. That's about 5 gallon plastic bucket. What was your total count?

Wow! That was a lot of work. Great hunt Rob!
HI rob how are you
A lot of album fillers!
Where can I find hoards/lots like the one you found?
Did you ever find out what was up with that odd looking 1958-D at 22:48?
I am continually amazed by your ability to just put your head down and plow through hours upon hours of coin searching. My neck and my back could never put up with it. Another great video!
This one did take its toll, but the fun kept me going.
I just checked my pennies and nickles to see if any could go into my books I spent like 30mins and my back was killing me lol
My back hurts just reading these
Now this is a treasure hoard of wheat pennies it must have took you hours of not a couple of days to go through all those so cool.
Talk sbout feast or famine! A roll of 1943-D Bu pennies is quite a find. Congratulations!
I saw the video was 25 minutes long - and I said "sweet"! Two-times face for wheaties is an incredible buy! Those steelies were amazing! And those 1941 DDO's - unreal!! Another great video!
That 1958-D was an encased "good luck" penny that was removed from the metal ring.
Makes sense!
I found my first ever w quarter in my grandma's purse yesterday
In the 70's I paid my friends 2 cents for every wheatie they had. I thought that was the way to go then. Maybe, maybe not. I'd do it in a heartbeat today.
Fantastic. And only twice face? Wow.
With the btjing
That's awesome wheat penny collection I found a 1893 Indian head penny in my pocket change today thanks for sharing Rob
Couldn't sleep so Rob to the rescue! That was so much fun to watch. Love your videos❤
That must have been an absolute BLAST to go through. It was certainly fun to watch! I probably could have sat with you for the full 10 hours of searching and scoping, watching over your shoulder! Epic!
*Same exact thought mate. These long-coin hunt videos are just amazing & enjoyable to watch. :)*
@@NandiCollector to be honest, I was disappointed the video was a short as it was. I could have watched another half hour, watching RFT pull and scope all those teens, 20s, and 30s wheat cents!
I agree, but I'm not sure RFT could have hunted them as well with you over his shoulder... would have been a bit creepy 😆
🤣🤣@@Seeker-Recordings Just a bit!!

Wow I couldn't imagine getting to go through that many coins! My eyes hurt for you Rob. thank you Ray
Thanks for taking us with you! Excellent video as usual.
Awsome to find b.u roll of 1943 steel cents !
Wowza, talk about the hunt of the year. Fantastic, scores.
Appreciate all that hard work Rob. That was pretty awesome!

I do. I only keep the nicer ones AND the better dates though.
Just found a 1910 very fine condition in a bankroll yesterday it was pretty great
Wow! Great hunt and finds! Thank you for sharing your hunt.
Have some grape juice, you deserve it! My all time favorite video of yours...so far!

That was awesome Rob👍
I wish I was lucky enough to have a silver dealer like yours.
This is how I like to hunt pennies. I’ve cleaned out a few coin shops around here.
I have a cent much like that damaged 58 you showed. Like the same exact type of damage. I think it’s from one of those “lucky coin” holder things, at least from what I’ve read online.
Glad you had fun going through them. Thanks for sharing.
That was an awesome hunt Rob, thanks for sharing your good fortune with all of us, congrats on the nicer stuff you got in that collection brother 👍
That was funtastic! Quite the hall 👍 Thanks Rob only you ( The Man) could go through that collection and know what to be looking for. Great Job

If you bought them for $.02 I wonder what your coin dealer got them for?
Enjoyed the video 👍

What an awesome hunt Rob! Lot's of fun, keep em coming! Happy Hunting! Stephen
This might’ve been my favorite Hunt of all. Thanks again, Rob.
Great hunt Rob! 😊
Now that looked like a fun hunt and a nice bunch of finds!
It was brother! It was!
Hopefully you find some good stuff for your book! Even put a book together from what you find from your silver dealer! (Commenting before I watch this)
Fantastic bunch of wheaties!
Hi Rob... I hope you're updating the penny hunt book!!!! Go on... we give you permission!!👍😁
LOL - I wanted to!
Love these hunts, never know what’s gonna pop up.
Thank you!
Always fun watching a penny hunt.
Lots of wheats

Congratulations on the finds. That is awesome to watch you sort so many pennies. Nice video.
wonderfully exhausting work on your part, thanks Rob, enjoyed it all
Wow major hunt! Thank you for sharing!
Wow! That was a lot to go through. Very nice!
Wow Rob, this seems like a ton of work! Loved the video
looks we both got a 1941 fs-102, found mines last week after buying a bag of wheat cents, had the same doubling on the motto. this makes it my first variety ever (:
And I thought my box of 600 wheats sitting around is a lot haha. Damn! Definitely a cool video.
A very nice 1941 DDO, Rob!!!
You could probably fill a lot of spots in your dansco album 😊
I thought about it, but since I didn't get them AT face value, I could not count them...
Great video! I’d love to see more like this when your dealer gets them in.
looks like a very fun search through pennies, also bet your eyes felt like bleeding at the end as Well.
Fun indeed, nice work RFT!
The one 1958-D looks like it may of been "broadstruck"...maybe worth submitting to PCGS!
I went thru a similar size penny hoard and also found a 'rimmed' cent like the '58-D shown here. I would like to understand how it might happen. Let me know if I can help or if you get a definitive explanation of this type of coin.
That's a lot of wheats nice hunt Rob.
That was a really nice bunch of coins rob was probably really exciting to look through that many coins
It was, especially after 2 key moments: The BU Steel Cent roll, and then after a few handfuls realizing we had some old ones in there.
Wow, Thats really amazing. I wish I could search wheat pennies like that...
Whew! You even wore me out. Fun!
NICE STUFF!!!!!
I love these penny hunt videos.
THAT BEING SAID, an incredible wheat penny collection!
Been wanting to get one of your penny hunting mats.... Finally did it. Lol
If you're interested in trading a $25 box of pennies from Virginia for a nickel mat is love to trade with you.
Thanks brother - just shipped it. Always GAME for a trade of that kind.
We'll definitely work it out brother 😊
Another great hunt! Thanks 😊
2x face, I wish I could get a deal like that.....
I really did enjoy this video. Thank you!

Lots of Wheaties coming up for auction soon!
How can I get a board like your to work on. I'm new and just got a scope so excited to learn about my new hobby.

Dennis
Take it to a coin shop for an in hand inspection and likely needs to be sigma tested for its composition.
What a great lot!
What a great lot for less than melt!
Awesome video. Just had to say that FS102 looks like it mabey has a slightly rotated die. Mabey just the way you flipped it in your hand?
Just rechecked it. It's normal. Probably how I flipped it.
Wow! Loved it❤
WOW!!!!! nice haul i loved it
I once found a 1924 D in ebay rolls
Thanks for the video!
I don’t subscribe to many coins but I actually enjoyed your video I hope you make more.
I'm thinking pmd, probably in a good luck token or pendant.
There is no easy way to search bulk penny hoards if you're looking for Varieties. 750 rolls or 37,500 pennies takes me about 7 days working everyday. That's about 5 gallon plastic bucket.
What was your total count?
It ended up being equivalent to almost 6,500 wheaties - not fully accounting for the lighter steel cents.
My grandpa collected wheat pennies and left me 15 coin banks full and two old cans full
Hey Robs, Your videos are the BEST!!- Just wondering what do you do with the '82 pennies? Thanks
I was really looking forward to this one
Awesome video Rob! Hey quick question, why do you save the 1959 pennies??
Great hunt Rob. About how many wheat pennies do you have now in your collection anyway.
Well, I sold a lot of them over the years, but I estimate that I still have at least 25K left...
@@RobFindsTreasure sweet
When I was a kid of around 11 years old there was a contest to collect wheat pennies. I had a whole cigar box full. Should have kept them...😢
What a score!
Awesome 👍👍❤️
I hope some of those 43-d's will be for sale...
Maybe... Hard to break up the roll!
...they would make great GAWs...
This is going to be fun 😁
About halfway through the video, hoping you find a 22!
Are you going to get the best 1943 steel cent graded??
Where do you find a place to sell them for the copper or the silver weight?
Awesome video Rob!
Boom 💥
