If the Gorosei are actually immortal and don't age that would be really kinda weird considering they are public figures. Someone like Dragon or even Cobra should be aware of the fact that they have been around for many generations and don't age. Yet the revolutionaries are speculating about the immortality-surgery only with regards to Imu as if it's not something they've ever considered the Gorosei to have received.
Who said they are public figures?
The Gorosei are not immortal, they are replaced over time. That's why Shepherd Ju Peter doesn't know about the Nika-Nika fruit.
They are not public figures. The few people we know that saw them in person was King Cobra, Sabo, Vegapunk, Shanks, Wapol and the Admirals. They are far from being public figures.
nice icon brother ;) , also nice theory
We don't know how known the gorosei are, the most logical assumption imo is that people know they exist but no one except few people (kings and celestial dragons) have ever seen them.
Imu Nerona
Nerina is a girl’s name meaning “sea god” and is of Italian origin. A Latinized form of Greek Nērinē, from the name of the sea god Nēreus.
Imu backwards Umi is sea. Nerona sounds like more foreshadowing for Imu as the the sea devil and the origin of devil fruits.
But Imu is a guy according to Ivankov
@@Serocco Could be why it's Nerona and not Nerina.
And Nero is one of the mad Emperors of History
Either way, getting clapped… by Luffy,Robin,Nami,Blackbeard…etc the reign is over. “And NeW 👑🏴☠️💭…D for DooM for Imu lol
don't forget they refer to imu as mother nature which is gaia and the ocean is also nature in this. Also mary geoise translates to holy lady or something
A nice parallel that might be true as the Figarland family representing the moon might be that it starks as a contrast to the Kozuki. Both are symbolic to the moon while the Figarland are the dark side (standing with Nerona Imu) and Kozuki the lighted part (standing with Joyboy). Maybe they're destined to clash?
Hopefully Shanks and Luffy take down his dad. It would be a giant disappointment if it came down to Shanks and Luffy fighting.
It looks more like shanks grandpa than father
@@nestosomething7736 don’t forget shanks is 39, this Garling could easily be late 60’s early 70’s
I actually thought the rivals were Nefertari and nerona
Nerona represents the night
Nefertari represents the day
As alabasta is known as the country of the sun
@@memebrain2177 it still doesn't explain why Imu hates Joyboy. Especially the mystery surrounding Lily D Nefertiti was she the one who founded Amazon Lily? Was there some sort of love triangle between Joy boy, Lily, and Imu?
I doubt Vegapunk made the Mother Flame intending for it to be used as a weapon. Most likely, the Mother Flame was just his attempt to create the everlasting flame that Lilith mentioned early in the Egghead arc, not thinking about the possible ways it could be used to hurt people - in the same way that he never thought about the problems that Punk Records could cause, only the possible benefits.
I still think Enel is the key to the energy source as seen on the moon. Seeing as Luffy seems to win over those around him and even those he defeats we could see Enel comin back as a good "God"
Makes sense because the way how the Gorosei and Imu talked about this mother flame weapon, they were unsure of what it would do since it was their first time putting it to the test. This could indicate that it's purpose was for something else, not to destroy islands 💀
I agree, my guess is that the Mother Flame is not the weapon itself but an energy source that is needed in order for Imu to activate and use Uranus; that would also explain why the World Government had never used it before, they simply were unable, and that also explains why Imu is so eager to test if the ancient weapon is functional at all.
Hard to think the most intelligent man in one piece wouldn't have thought of the negatives of his creations
@@kazamaclan447but that is very oda to write him that way. Don't you think? We've already heard and seen vegapunk only seeing things from his perspective such as mentioned above w punk hazard as well as with sharing information with everyone, Franky even points out potential problems but he basically says that to further science he can't consider certain potential negative impacts. Kinda like if he thinks like that then he couldn't invent half of what he does is what i got from that exchange. Remember he also has literally parts of his personality removed so that I'm sure plays into it.
Nerona is written in "ネロナ" in katakana. And by combining these three letters, you can make one kanji "神" (can you see?), which means "God". Also the katakana form of Imu, "イム" makes up a kanji "仏", which means "Buddha". So "Nerona Imu" literally means "God" and "Buddha"!
Fitting for someone who is a God-Emperor Shadow Dictator of the World and God of Gods Celestial Dragons who consider themselves Deities...
@@user-ns2ku3zz7p goda does not miss🔫
😮😮😮 BRO that reminds me of Journey to the West. A Monk/Buddhist frees a punished Monkey Sun Wukong from under his rock and they journey to India to find scriptures. Sun Wukong obeys because the Buddhist gains a golden head band that keeps the monkey under control from the Goddess Guan Yin. Sun Wukong before being punished under the rock for 500 years had the title "Great Sage equal to Heaven" and had the ability to use powers of other animals. He also led a rebellion against the "Celestials" of the story.
@@troll1321 And in there Buddha was depicted as the Omnipotent Omniscient All-Powerful All-Knowing All-Seeing Top God God of Gods. And being the Only Entity/Character/Opponent that even the Mighty Monkey God-King himself CAN'T Beat or Defeat Overcome... A very Magical Being who can fight with the entire army of Heaven's Gods and go rampant on Heaven, can't even defeat or come close to the Enlightened One Being...
@user-ns2ku3zz7p Thats why I think it is very interesting that Imu's name is "God" and "Buddha"
Don't think the Gorosei are immortal, when the nika fruit appeared they didn't know about it, they said it was even a legend for them, so they could not have been there in the void century. They only knew about the name change of the fruit.
Who said they didn't know about the fruit when it appeared? Who told about legend was Who's Who, not the Goroseis. The name of the fruit didn't change. The name more appropriate to describe its power was kept secret, that's it.
@@giselaandrade5627 Chapter 1037 last two pages, they refer to the time they changed the name of the fruit as an era they never lived in.
@@martynmr True.
@@martynmr well presumably Imu established them as his devout followers after he led to power. So at the time during the void century before things went south they also weren’t informed about the Nika fruit displaying Imu’s desire to completely eradicate it from history even amongst his closest retainers as it’s presumably Imu’s biggest fear
@@martynmr they never said they didn't live back then. Just that "the Fruit is a Legend now, even to us".
Which could also mean that they just never get told about it, as to fully erase it. "even to us" is also a strong hint on them being very, very old.
Basically: "We're old and leading the Government for 100s of years and still know almost nothing about it."
And I believe that the OP-OP-no-mi vanishes for a few years (like a cooldown) before respawning after the surgery was performed.
That's why the Gov. is so after that fruit and didn't kill off law to get it. They can only make 1 Person immortal in a century. So Imu 900 years ago, Warcury 800 years ago, V. Nusjuro 700 years ago, etc. Which would imply Ju Peter to be at most 400 years old which is only 50% of the time between present day and the Void-Century.
Which also means that Warcury was made immortal ~100 years after the Void. So that's why it could be a legend as well to him.
(Reallife Example of a Legend 80 Years ago. The N*zi-Gold. There are heaps of legends of them having tons and tons of gold from their "appropriations" never been found after the war.
And we have fairly good coverage of that Time-period compared to 800years ago.)
Ok so here is a thing I noticed: Oda very weirdly chose the seats for the 5 elders this chapter. If we look at the panel of the introduction, the 2 on the right panel have their names as the actual planets, while the 3 on the left are puns on the planets, which makes me think that Saturn and Mars are older than the other 3.
It would also allign with them having gone through the perenial youth operation and explain the incosistency from chapter 1037, since in that chapter, the ones that thought the Nika fruit is a legend are very conveniently the same 3 Gorosei on the left with the planet names mispelled, so the younger ones
Yoo this would be cool...if true
@@zigzag9972 It kinda makes sense, 'cause it's hard to imagine they got the fruit so many times within the void century
Nerone ( which sound pretty similar to the Nerona family) was a Roman emperor, famous for burning down his very own capital city in order to rebuild his own estate. He is also considered an authoritative ruler, almost a tyrant, whom killed almost anyone near his person in fear of being betrayed and ended up closing himself up in his palace, only dedicating to arts, while leaving his subordinates to supervise his dutys as the leader. In the end, everyone abandoned him, even the army (read the marines) went against him. I believe there might have been some inspiration here from oda. He would have never just copy pasted his character, but he may have taken inspiration
Remember Vegapunk's dream of providing eternal energy and his wish for eternal flame that he could harness for this purpose. He didn't build a weapon - he built a prototype unlimited power plant that was turned into weapon by the world government similar to nuclear energy (though without the proper power source it is not complete and the gorosei comment that they can't use it as they please).
Ok but going back to Imu´s Den den mushi...
Can you imagine this dude or dudette going to the Gorosei after the Denden mushis got invented
And saying "I need someone to go to the store and get me a crown for my snail."
i think Vegapunk giving the world government the "mother flame" is a reference to Albert Einstein contributing to the creation of the nuclear bomb against his own wishes. Vegapunk could have created some energy source that can be used to power the ancient weapon Uranus as many have speculated.
What you missed: Mother Flame also refers to Mothership which is the main spaceship of a space fleet
6:13 I can imagine the awkward Figarland family reunion between Garling and Shanks and his daughter Uta.
Your theory of the UFO even make sense with the space theme of all tenryubito (space like suits, name of planets and satellites)
I'm gonna comment this in basically evry OP related videos on this days: NERO is not the actual name of the roman emperor, that's just an english traslation (i dont get why personal names gets translated tbh), the real name is NERONE, so its actually even more similar to nerona even without adding enything to it. If you really wanna speculate to that you can say that Nerona is the female version of Nerone...
No, both names are seen as valid - but interestingly Nerone is the "translation". "Nero" is the most used name in the original latin sources and usual scientific standard (even the italian Wikipedia pages doesn't mention Nerone once as his original name). We know that "Neron" (where Nerone likely derives from) was used in his title as pharao of Egypt where he ruled as "Autokrator Neron...." (many more words follow) which could have been based on his greek name or the genitive form of "Nero".
@@f.carasind4188 Dude i'm literally italian and i can assure you here he's ONLY referred to as Nerone (litearrly in every literature). Nero is just and only the color black, Nerone is a proper name and also an adjective meaning something black. In fact he gets that as sort of "nickname", he didnt born with that name.
@@andreacortesi5480 I know that Italians refer to him only as Nerone but you complained about some nations using his "original" latin name. He was born with another name and chose Nero which for most linguists isn't related to the italian word "nero" at all (which is based on the latin word niger) but to a word from the Sabine language (closely related to latin as well) meaning "strong" - which also would make more sense for a self-given ruler name. "Nero" was also not an unusual naming choice at this time, i.e. the father of emperor Tiberius was called Tiberius Claudius Nero.
I just hope Imu will also turn out to be a goofy character like Luffy but the dark version of it. It would be such a typical Oda thing of making your final bad guy be a wacky cartoon character.
Imu is the Phantom Blot, then?
Here... you welcome...
[strong spoilers ahead]

Please no leave that to Luffy
@@djentlee9064 plz Imu like luffy

Could it be that Imu stands for the primordial void out of which all Greco-Roman deities spawned from? Chaos. After all they addressed themselves as Mu (void)
I like that.
Sounds right. Afterall, we have "the void century" and "the empty throne".
17:41 hmm, a devil fruit based off of a mythological person who happens to be still alive and Blackbeard who happens to have said fruit, fascinating
you're a legend. not only you provide accurate analysis of the facts, but also the content is entertaining!
I think Imu ate a mythic devil fruit and it is another Hito Hito no mi. The two biggest questions for me are what was the dripping off of Imu’s tail (sea devil?) and also how in the world did Imu wound Sabo so badly. Was it Haki or was it a devil fruit cancelling ability. Like … ah… Blackbeard.
like this opinion.. Hito Hito no Mi; Model Sea Devil is more match againts Hito Hito no Mi; Model Sun God Nika.. Seal vs Liberation..
Sabo still has armament haki, it doesn't need to be shown like all black body, it's just there just less haki concentrate through whole body. Imu must've strong haki.
@@nestosomething7736 imagine a dude improving his Haki skill for CENTURIES!
Thanks Artur! Always a treat when you pop on the feed.
dude this theory is aweesome i love these videos they are so much better than a decent portion of the op youtuber theorists, most of them just kinda tie random things together and call it a theory but you actually connect your points and make sense of them.
This channel is essential for all non native speakers interested in the variety of possible translations Oda uses in his wordplay. Ur a real one Artur.
Also interesting to note: the word nero in greek (νερό) means water. Which is (of course) what the sea is mostly composed of. ( Imu = Umi)
I don't think Oda knows greek. Nero is 99% becouse of evil Roman emperor. Also Imu backward would be mui if you wright it in Japanese
Well, I actually think the name Nerona is a pun on… Verona, the italian City home of the Romeo & Juliet tale (notice the castle filled with hearts in the reveal of IMU’s name?).
Also, the symbol of the Capuleto family literally looks like… a spaceship… or even like a… strawhat!
Been waiting for this!! Let’s go!
Artur just cooking with all these theories. Love it!
Finally.... I was waiting for this upload for a long time
I would love for this to go even further and see Imu being the boy that emperor Nero had castrated and made to act like his old wife because of their striking resemblance...it would make sort of sense out of the fact that Imu seems to hate Vivi more than most people, if she was the reincarnation of the person that Imu was first enslaved because of....
Your theories are very incredible. Especially the connection between Luffy and Joyboy and Blackbeard and Imu at the end.
i always thought that imu is the sea devil himself. Doesn't even have devil fruits, just pure his power. That's why all devil fruit user is lost ability to swim, or even weak to sea waters. I believe that's how Imu defeat joyboy. Maybe he lures joyboy to eat the df, but failed. And then with lily, it's different. Imu makes Lily to makes joyboy eats the fruit. Just like adam and eve story. And i remember this quotes "the biggest devil's lie is that the devil isn't exist". That's why imu hiding behind his chamber and no one will ever know that Imu exist beside gorosei
Much love. Great video ❤
such a wonderfully constructed video!
The end of all your videos give me chills
every time i watch your theory i feel there's no better way to write this story than what you've speculated, especially the luffy's true dream one that brought me to tears
That is a great point. Teach’s fruit could be the hito hito no mi model Imu. That would be a great twist.
Interesting.
Damn, this could also be a possibility. That's why Imu is very interested in Teach as shown in a panel where Imu is holding a poster of Teach along with Luffy and Vivi. Maybe Teach's fruit was his original powers and thus he will make Teach his vessel since as suggested in the video, Imu has no form.

- You know Figarland Garling reminds me of "Crescent-Moon" Gally the Pirate that Luffy fought in the first Romance Dawn one-shot
- With Neroma meaning black & the planet theme I can’t help but think of Nibiru a hypothetical 9th planet which was theorize to destroy Earth

He's just so into detail that he might be wrong but you don't care because the way the video is structured is awesome!
Favourite one piece RUclipsr 🔥🔥
If this is true, my bet is on a modified sky island turned into a flying ship, similar to how Moria modified Thriller Bark.
That would also explain the distance conundrum, if it had to use clouds as support.
This video is so good. So many great connections. I didn't even know about the Figarland Shanks thing.
Tremendo video te has sacado otra vez! Por cierto, esa OST del final es de zero escape no?? No sabia que conocias la saga pero me alegra jajajaja
Oda introduced the counter pluton into the story, what if that was also done bc he always wanted Imu to have a counter uranus, that's basically just a UFO.
My other thought would be that it could "just" be a UFO, an ancient relic from the people who left the moon, with Vegapunk supplying the energy source with a "failed" 'eternal flame'(Battery) that needs a little recharging or something.
bruh we litteraly shown by enel flying ship by thunder power, then its possible other energy source can do that too
@@misugilala2748 bruh, something Vegapunk made called 'the mother flame' was literally introduced last chapter in connection to the thing that destroyed Lulusia, but go off.
@@Phantasmen bruh i just want to tell that something already done by someone, but that person dont exist in one piece surface coz he from sky

@@misugilala2748 then you might wanna hold back the "bruh", cause it seemed like you came in here like a knowitall, disrespecting what I wrote.
Yeah, it gets harder and harder to connect the last few dots, since we cant know which parts are direct or indirect parallels.
But her having a fruit similar to Morias and to a lesser extent maybe even Perona is rather likely imo.
Thank you for your work Artur. I just have to say about the idea that the Gorosei being eternally young, when the Gorosei were discussing Luffy's devil fruit in Wano, Shepard Ju Peter was asking why the WG would conceal the name of a devil fruit 800 years ago, as if he and the others were not there.
Loving the Metroid Prime music man! great vid
glad you're back to your health in these times. We all would be missing out without these insights
I think the mother flame is the power source to an ancient weapon that the WG already had.
I mean he was already trying to create an undying energy source. Is that the mother flame?

I cannot thank you enough for the contribution to the OP community! Love your analysis and theories! Btw Nero means water in greek language, concerning another theory of Imu representing mother earth, as water surrounds Earth and is covering 71% of the surface.
Might be either Earth Moon and Primordial Void.
So the supposed giant Strew hat that lies in the vault could be the same massive object that sabu described explaining why it was frozen for so long and being kept like that until the time to use it came but if so then how vagapunk create it?
I’m 99% sure that what blew up lalusia is what sucked up Capone gang bege’s ship in the cover story
Called the title of the video. Great vid by the way.
Wow artur. What an episode!
There's a reason Artur's videos are the GOAT. The first 7 minutes blew my mind.
WAAAAA i cant stress enough how excited about this
I can't believe it took me this long to subscribe. Artur just pumping out knowledge the rest of us non Japanese speakers completely miss.
Some random Mr. just mocked the names so thank you for providing context. Liked and subbed.
Another thing that checks out is, that devil fruits were told to come from the dreams of people, then if the Moon was located un god valley, this could suport the idea that god valley was were the fruits were bornwith the Moon, night, being the ruler of the dream islnad
Why is this guy such a genius in theories and creating videos
Are we sure the book that iva is showing is the devil fruit enciclopidia? It could be the oficial book of the begining of the world government to show sabo the name of imu
To me, the word on it looks like genes.
It might be both. Genesis and Genetics.
To build on your theory, the mother flame powers the ufo the ufo is the giant “straw hat” that was shown already. Also could tie into the theory that vegapunk didn’t make it something that destroys but teleports it. Like an abduction. Just throwing it out there
I do not think Ivankov was trying to say Im is an ancient weapon, it seemed pretty clear they said Imu would make sense to possess an ancient weapon due to being alive for 800 years
Artur is the best. I wish you the best in health and life! That get together in Barcelona sounds amazing i wish i could make it my first trip out of the states.
Love this analysis!! On an unrelated note, seeing as planet names are getting more n more relevant, i wonder if Enel will ever come down from the actual moon and fuck around ahahah i kinda miss him 😂😂 need a throwback!!!
There's another possibility, the ship part of Uranus could be what remains from the Void Century era and the creature part of it would be a dragon. Imu needed either someone with the powers of Kaido or Momonosuke, or one of the artificial dragons that Vegapunk created. It makes a lot more sense suddenly why Vegapunk was creating dragons, if they're important to Imu and thus the WG asked/ordered him to make them, or to try and copy Kaido's fruit.
Given how Garling is moon shaped he could be the user of the blood devil fruit because of the lunar phase known as the Blood Moon or has the fear paramecia due to the moon of Mars being called Phobos
Your channel is unique. I appreciate the insights you give.
The only anime that has soo many channels speculating theories. It’s awesome to listen to all of these showing how everyone is so eager about the plot. I’d not say all but some theories came to be true but the real beauty is when Lord D. ODA shatters all the theories and delivers content much greater than what we expected ❤🔥🔥🔥
My thoughts & opinions:
1. At 1st, I thought Mjosgard was playing do-gooder just to trick the Fishmans in to a false sense of security. But it looks like Otohime truly changed his way for the better! So much so that even I wished he lived long enough to help Luffy in the final battle however he can! I even bet Sabo, Koala, Hancock, and even Jinbe would be surprised by this if they ever learn about the Celestial Dragon's selflessness from Sai, Leo, and Shirahoshi!
2. When learning more about the Figarland Family, I do wonder if Luffy will one day learn about Shanks's true ties to them whether or not Saturn reveals it in front of him! Perhaps it might affect Luffy's view on his idol/fellow Emperor for better or worse.
3. I am now questioning whether Vegapunk is really an ally worth having, unless he gains a redemption arc where he make amends to those he has wronged until now. Such as Bonney, the Kuja tribe, and the surviving citizens of Lulusia.
On your 2nd point:
I don't think it would matter to Luffy. For the whole manga until now, we know Luffy bases what he think of people not by a title or on what the character was supposed to be. He likes or dislikes people on what they do. Only if Shanks does something against Luffy's ideals, I really don't think would care about his descendancy
@@TheVinnom you maybe right. But what about people who has a reasonable grudge against the Celestial Dragons, Like Hancock or Jinbe. What do you think will stop them from thinking Luffy was being manipulated by Shanks (who is one of them) the whole time without ever realizing it for himself!?
I’m pretty sure Jinbe is very well acquainted with Shirahoshi
@@ryananderson1887 what I meant to say is that Jinbe would be surprised if he learns what a Celestial Dragon did to help Shirahoshi.

THE WAY THIS VIDEO ENDED!!!! BRA FUCKING VO!!! 🎊💐💯 SPECTACULAR! I rewinded that part so much
wait that was actually such a good cliffhanger ending to the video. MAN both Oda and Artur got us on the edge of our seats.
I love ur theory on the ancient weapons. For so long a person and a ship and creature as the ancient weapons felt so disconnected but the idea that each ancient weapon is a ship, a creature/creatures, and a ship would be epic. Could you imagine a battle with all 3!? The noah's ark and the sea kings lead by wimpyhoshi (but not wimpy lol) alongside momonosuke, zunisha and pluton vs imu and uranus with some insane mythological bird race would be insane!
Oda is not the author’s name, it was lost in translation
I hope Arthur can tell us the true name soon! Hhahhaa
It's Goda, the whole manga is just one massive hint towards that realization
It's O D. A
Return to Reverie: *reveals the names of Five Elder Stars and their titles*
Oda: "Two can play at that game!" *reveals the names of the Five Elder Planets with much cooler names and epithets*
I love how if you say "St.JayGarciaSaturn" it sounds like Sega Saturn a little
This video was kind of goated no cap
It's a reference to a person in history - specifically Nero. Many of the Celestial Dragon family names are references to people in either history or fiction.
Nefertari references a Pharaoh. Donquixote references a classic book protagonist. Figarland references a Final Fantasy villain. Jaygarcia references Jerry Garcia.
Unlike every other instance of 'ph' in the English language, the one found in Shepherd is not pronounced as an 'f'. The word is a contraction of 'sheep herd', so the 'p' sound is maintained.
But the weak 'h' sound is usually silent, and most people pronounce (and often misspell) it as Sheperd.
The blackboard connection at the end needs its own video PLEASE
Can't sleep without watching something about one piece
Thank you Artur, we not Japanese speakers really benefit from your breakdowns!
It's the hat from Imu's freezer. It was a ufo all along.
that ending was amazing
Artur Nero is water in greek probably a reference to Mother sea
0:04 I can't wait to see Oda reveal the rest of God's Knights members debuting with their awesome and unique character designs after Figarland Garling appeared.
Anyone else kinda notice the ship on top of lulusia looking like a ufo coincidentally is shaped like idk....A GIANT STRAW HAT 💀💀
I like your theory but to expand on it: Dr. Vegapunk talks about an "everlasting flame" for a power source that could fuel the entire world with infinite free energy. He calls it like their own sun or something. So instead of being a weapon that Vegapunk created, Mother Flame could just be a prototype of this power source that Imu is using to power "Uranus" or whichever ancient weapon the World Government possibly has right now. Like you were saying, Zou may be needed to power Pluton and the Sea Kings may be needed to power Neptune. Maybe whatever is needed to power Uranus is dead or they don't have the person that can speak to it on their side, it's been pretty clear that you need both the creature and the person that can speak to them to power the Ancient Weapons.
That could explain why they already had an assassination force going to Egghead before they even knew that Luffy was there. The whole world having infinite energy would basically give each nation it's independence and they obviously don't want that. They just want enough powerful energy to run these ancient weapons.
I'm not convinced the book Iva shows is a book of Devil Fruits that opens to the page on the Op Op no Mi. Rather, it sounds like they are opening a book of history turned myth on the page of the founding dieties! It would make sense if Imu and the other Celestial dragons literally turned themselves into myths of gods, rewriting history. Something that would be recorded in a Book of Genesis.
