Okay hear me out if you attempt to translate Uruoge to Japanese you get Uroge and if you mix up the letters it become Rogue their was a real pirate group called The Rogue pirates in Cuba often called Rogues, they operated on the Seven Seas during the early 18th century. The difference between them and other pirates was that they openly violated the Code of the Pirate Brethren by slaughtering their victims. Some of them even attacked other pirate ships, which led to the confrontation between the rogues and the Brethren Court. He’s actually most famous for being exposed to the Brethren Court by Hector Barbossa and the real jack sparrow before escaping execution with the help of Boris Palachnik.

It's cool that Urouge visited Raijin island, a lightning island in the New World, and that it's the same island that Luffy wanted to go to after the Fish-Man arc.
The Giants we have seen (Dorry, Brogy, even Jaguar D Saul) all laugh and smile, which could be their faith in Sun God Nika and laughter is their way of showing their beliefs. Laughing in the face of danger is the ultimate bravery of a great warrior of the sea.

The temple at 15:50 Is highly reminiscent of an Aztec temple design which established an Aztec connection with the sky races. The Aztecs believed that the world was originally inhabited by giants, but that the gods destroyed them as punishment for not worshipping them. This reminds me of the giant straw hat that Imu has, and honestly parallels the idea that Joyboy could have been a giant or a giant sized person (who was punished by the “gods”/celestial dragons) for defying them.

I think Oda showed the mad monk watching Kaido try to commit unalive from the clouds to tell us he is above all the typical pirate shenanigans but still an important part of the story, end game material basically. His history is tied to one piece history at its core and to unveil him too early would spoil things, his character must be waiting for a specific moment to join the fray.
Personally, I think Urouge will tie back in during/after Elbaf, connected with the other entrance to Skypeia through the world tree/beanstalk

I too think that the story of One Piece is a metaphor for spiritual awakening. It's even in the name "one piece" my interpretation is that it means the whole of existence is one thing. And the D laugh or smile at the moment of death because they realize this fact at the end of their life. I'm don't think Oda is literally gonna explicitly state this in the story though.

Now that ive seen the full video, thanks for connecting points ive been mulling over for a long time.
Big theory here. Imu created the devil fruits, trapping the dreams and desires of the people into the fruits. Anyone who eats a devil fruit is basically enslaving that desire/soul to use it for themselves. When awaken, the soul is not a slave anymore and actively works with the user. The sea is punishing anyone who enslave those desires.
Now I'm thinking that laugh tale might be near the consciousness/heart of the sea, which makes any devil fruits users sick. But an awaken user might be accepted.
By the end, I see Luffy freeing all the desires and dreams by somehow destroying the source of all devil fruits. Freeing the seas from the grand line, freeing Imu who could be ''trapped'' in his own shadow.
One other thing I was thinking is that I think the opposite of dreams is not Fear but doubt.
It’s what holds you back. Fear might be the trigger for it. But the lack of belief in yourself or others is what really prevents dreams from being fulfilled.

They in fact embody doubt in humanity (or other sapient races). As well as doubt in peoples ability to pursue their dreams. Due to a belief that unchecked dreams are too dangerous to the status quo.
So doubt has lead them to not only devalue life, but also the pursuits that give life meaning.
I would not be shocked if Imu was once a figure full of Hope and dreams. But lost them over time. As a result of trying to control the world in order to try to prevent reliving some trauma they experienced in the void century.

Being consumed by fear which lead to an overwhelming doubt in humanity or their dreams. And a belief they need to control them.

Real life Uruoge was the brother of Hajrudin (Khairudin) Barbarusa. Those two Muslim brothers were the admirals of the Ottoman navy in the 16th century. They defeated every navy so that Hajrudin was named king of the sea. The west claims they were pirates to tarnish their reputation, but they were not pirates. Not sure how much this will contribute to their roles in the story of one piece.

Yes. A good chunk of mangakas use popular religions as material for world building. I've read dozens of mangas that do this, some like D.Grayman that are literally just about the Church fighting Noah. Even dozens of JRPGs use it as well, Grand II, most Tales Of games, FF15, Xenosaga. etc.
The fun part is that they are usually the bad guys in the narrative. You'll notice that most of the symbology in One Piece associates directly to the World Government. Impel Down is Dante's Inferno. The Empty Throne is shaped like Saint Peter's Square. The first ruler to reject the world government was named Lily (aka Lilith). The people cloned from Lunarian blood are called Seraphim.
Kuma's jacket looking like a Celtic Cross. Laser blasts seem to have the same shape when fired. Of course, his name, Bartholomew, is one of the apostles.
The most hilarious part being that the thorn in the government's side being devil fruits, which we know a fruit played a major role in Genesis. Giants in the bible were the product of the rebellious descendants of Seth and Cain. The idea that Giants are opposed to the World Government sets this further.
I just realized something. I'm not sure if Oda used Nika for a double entendre, but IC XC NIKA means Jesus Christ Conquers. The Christogram is usually shaped with four circles in a cross arrangement with a center connection, and IC XC NI KA around them. Kind of like the World Government's symbol.
When Enel attacks with directed lightning, the attack looks exactly like Imu's space attack, the one fueled with that "eternal flame".

the theory about the story repeating itself makes a lot of sense how the world reconstructs and gets better and there were a lot of nika fruit eaters, it will make sense with gol d roger's story as well, it was said that they arrived at raftel too early, that it is not the time and in the future someone will get there when the time is right. Another thing to point out is that maybe urouge will have the rematch with enel when he is brought back, that because he was defeated by enel, now enel makes hes appearence back in elbaf and urouge will get to fight him again to be god of skypea one more time
It would be sick if we find out at the end of one piece that the narrator was urouge all along and he’s like telling the story to a future generation of pirates to spark a new age of piracy

Since the other Supernovas appeared back in Sabaody, we've pretty much met and learned more about each one with each arc following Fishman Island. Like we pretty much learned Law's backstory back in Dressrosa and how it related to the events of that arc, and currently we have Bonney and us learning about her story and how it connects to the events of Egghead. Urouge is the only one we know nothing about, and I feel we're going to meet up with him again VERY soon, likely at Elbaf or whatever the next arc is.
urouge's tattoo is very similar to the ones in the Kalgara flashback during skypiea.

Excellent theory video! I particularly liked your comparison of Enel's 'god is fear' line to Urouge's potential belief system. To throw my own hat in the ring, I think it is more likely that Urouge served the previous god of Birka rather than being god himself. Both Enel and Gan Fall do not have wings after claiming the title of God. It makes more sense imo with his title of Mad Monk that Urouge was the previous God of Birka's priest.
Another stray question that kept ringing in my head during this video: What if each Sky Island's God represented one of the gods we were introduced to in Noland's flashback? As an example, if the god of the Birkans was the God of the Sun while the god of the Shandians was the God of the Earth?

Devil fruits being power sources makes sense with vegapunk trying to figure out the power source they used in the ancient kingdom and the giant robot activating with luffys drums of liberation
In last night episode, luffy rubberized the cloud and grab it to jump back higher to hit kaido. And grabbed lightning to continue hitting kaido. I believe when luffy finally knows what his devil fruit is really are, he will be unstoppable against anyone. He will be able to rubberize even water
If true, then he was praying to Joyboy when Kaido threw himself off to die.
Urouge is kinda like a fallen angel. What if he ends up being a Lucifery character? Like a crazy twist where he ends up being a final villan lol. Or maybe nakama? hmm, he'd be a good match up for Jesus Burgess (kinda ironic) or San Juan Wolf. His DF is similar to both. I really like the theory about Urouges god being Nika And Nami having lineage of Birkan royalty.

Some time ago I had an insight about Urouge's role in the manga as well. Though I focused more on the Ancient Weapons.
I was thinking of how each of the AW are in different "realms" - Poseidon on the bottom of the sea with the Fishmen, Pluton on sea level in the hands of humans allied with Joy Boy - and it seemed logical to me that Uranus would be in the sky and related to the winged people.
It's my head canon that the Mother Flame Vegapunk's created is a ripoff of Uranus, since the World Gvt either doesn't have it or can't use it. Right now after seeing your video I believe that Uranus is a massive island wiping flying cannon or sth which used to be in the hands of the Birkan, allies of Joy Boy. And, fittingly, the person who could operate it would only be their God... the one with the powers of the Gura Gura (kind of like how a certain somebody designed a flying ark named Maxim).
I think that Urouge stepping forward into the main plot would have to have something to do with explaining this and maybe retrieving it, and maybe that would mark Enel's return...

I believe that Kizaru may be used to power the mother flame .
Light is an aspect of the suns power. Kizarus lasers are studied and replicated by Vegapunk. The mother flames blast looks like a laser beam.
I think Luffy is part of Uranus , just like Shirahoshi is part of Poseidon and Momo is theorized to be part of pluton.
Kizarus light is a fraction of the suns (Nika) power, and therefore he can power the mother flame but not to its full potential.

No giant was present when Roger with his ship appeared or the Sunny.
We only know that this wood is sold on the black market for a very high price. For the shandians some trees are holy to them, so the same could be the case with the giants and the Adam tree. Even with Elbaf beeing Shanks territory this island should be friendly for the straw hats and we need some conflict there.

Why are people thinking that Skypeans are from the moon? Imo mural shows how they sent automata and may be others to the moon as the sea levels were rising. Lunarians are probably the Skypeans that came back to Earth and their wings became black because the lack of sunlight cause they lived under the surface of the moon.

Details like Urouge's wings are so obvious that it's not even speculation and doesn't need to be confirmed, just like the connection with the mushroom man and Vanderdecken.
As far as "cyclical history" goes and Poseidon's powers being generational, it's pretty clear that all ancient "weapons" (quotations because they are living beings and not objects like the very definition of the word) reincarnate. That's exactly why Shirahoshi's parent's don't have the power to command the creatures, the exact same reason Momonosuke's parents' don't have the same power either but he does because he's Pluton.
Uranus will be revealed to be a winged person who commands dragons and there are already many hints:

- Lunarians were "gods"
- The Shandians worshipped "gods"
