Looks like a 457/12. Years ago I bought one at an auction in pieces due to heat and string tension. After reattaching the neck among other things it made a very unique sound. Heres a video link to mine with a more conventional style song. ruclips.net/video/b84B7Pr7wi0/видео.html
Seems like true brilliance doesn't need to beat you over the head and say: "Look at me I'm brilliant!!" you don't need klingon ears, you just need to use your human ones. Use them to find an artist you can understand.
Moving random chord shapes up and down the neck against open strings, that's all I'm hearing... am I missing the "brilliant" part? Idk, maybe I need to ditch my human ears and acquire Klingon ones or something to really get it...
Incidentally, one of these guitars is available on Reverb.com right now for $5000.
Great now all the hipster kids are gonna be driving the prices of Hofners up.

Are you kidding me! A Nels Cline/Julian Lage duo tour! damn, where's the footage folks!
very cool, he makes it sound like some kind of japanese instrument at times.
Oh boy, there`s the patented Ralph Towner chord at 4 minutes-Gorgeous stuff
Good stuff. I love Ralph Towner on the 12 string or anything else. John McLaughlin moved it a bit wouldn't you say?

Nels Cline came to Fucking Fall River and I missed it? Shiet.
See kids if you know the guitar you don't have to plug in
Wow. sometimes it reminds me the sound of a portuguese guitar :-)
he looks younger than most people in their 20´s nowadays, steroids and hormones can f u up
Wish we could get Nels to the Guitar Masters series in Germany where I first saw Ralf Towner. This mojo would fit that groove.
love it where i can i get one
I could listen to Nels talk about guitars for hours. I could probably talk guitars with him for hours.
It sounds just like portuguese guitar.
coincidentally, Fall River/New Bedford, MA has a LARGE Portuguese-American community
