So, punk is not groove-based?? 😜
@@sz1341 haha, you know what I mean!
You should put on a suit and play drums. Title the video, "Conan Obrien slays drums!" I note the left foot hi hat work. Sickness.
You might be onto something there...
Anyone should be glad to have Jeff play the drums for them.
Thanks Zsolt! Hope you’re well man.
Depends on the genre
Sound is on point and great chops! Love it !
I have been playing punk/hardcore music since 1986 and that was just freaking awesome man...you crushed it
That snare 👌
That was fun! Nice little intricate breaks and the hi hat accents were spot on. Your video sound was really crisp. Nice job.
Punk rock is a very underrated style of drumming. Anytime someone says it's easy ask them to play Josie by Blink 182 without going off the beat or switching to quarter notes 🙂
Your drum sounds are always so great! Noticing the cymbals for some reason this time - good Noise! For me punk drumming was always sort of like pushing a rock up a hill (esp when the song wasn't that great) because the energy is anti-groove and volatile meter, it's more like rebellion against everything. So you have to be kind of pissed and push cement blocks around, which is easier when you're 16-25 and really *are pissed.. :-o
Genius!!!!!!!!!!
Holycrap! This is amazing🎉
This is fantastic! As always, thanks Jeff
Thanks Jan!
I love these type of videos where you just play.🔥🔥🔥
Glad to hear it! They’re a lot easier to make. Haha.
the perfect one take recording well done man!
Sick skill and sound man 👌 killing it, we wish you all of the best 😁
It's a great help. .. thank you Jeff.
Really freakin rockin Jeff!! Sounds great and awesomely played!! Got love some punk!!
Really cool and some tasty fills.
Dude this rocks
Punk rock FINALLY! Beautiful job, mate! 😎🤘🏻🥁
Great song! Awesome drumming!
Rock on, bro! Keep it up!
Great suff. I wish I had your timing. Just loved the fills
Snare sounds is awesome, as always!
Thanks bud! 14x6.5 brass is my absolutely go-to snare drum configuration for that reason.
Great fills, great sound, awesome!
Thanks very much!
So many great transitions in this
Thanks Emmanuel!
Sounds great!!
Thanks Jake!
If you reeeeaaally want to push your Punk Rawk drumming, listen to Lagwagon - Hoss or Trashed album. Some heavy and inspirational grooves right there!
I’ll check it out for sure!
@@JeffRandallDrumming Dave Raun rips on so many levels. Technically and playfulness is top shelf! "Move The Car" and "Rifle" will make your ears tingle :D
Great job man, I love jammin' out to punk rock drum tracks as well. Bad religion is one of my favorite drum track to play. You should try it 🤘
Punk drumming is some of the most fun you can have on the kit!
For sure!
Great track enjoyed it 👍
Saw you in Nashville on Broadway over the weekend nice solid playing just like this video. Keep killing it bro 😎
Jeff is Kickin Ass and Takin Names! 🥁❤
Thanks John!
Grande
Nice bro 🔥🙌🏻
Thanks Jean!
Awesome drumming there Jeff!
I started fiddling around with “Bop Gun” by Parliament.... it seemed like a good song to work in some of those kick patterns. 👍
Big thanks Paul! And yes, “Bop Gun” is a great song to practice those patterns with. Looking forward to our next lesson bud!

Hey Jeff! Great playing! And I love how you were able to have the drums fully illuminated and the black ambience. How do you get that?? Looks cool!!
Punk rulez 🤟
God your drums sound so good. Fuck.
Much appreciated.
Great stuff. I 2nd the suggestion to check out NoFx!
Hey jeff just want to say youre bloody fantastic man keep it up love your style theres a song by an aussie band called avalanche the song is called killer instinct its got real solid rock n roll drumming would love to see you cover it brother love from sydney australia🤘🤘
That was some pretty epic playing. What are the two cymbals you use on the right side of your kit?
Thanks! All my gear’s in the description box.

👌
🙏🏻
Are you using a controlled sound or an emperor x drumhead on the snare? That snare sounds phenomenal Jeff. You are such a talented drummer! Love your vids👏🏻💯🔥
Thanks Raul! It’s an Emperor X Coated.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great stuff, isn't that stuff fun to play? I love it. How about a gear walkthrough - whatchoo got there?
Super fun to play Rob! All of my gear is listed in the description box if you’re curious bud.
@@JeffRandallDrumming sweet! I had not expanded it (I know, I know). Thanks!
All I gotta say is: INSTANT HEADBANG!
Thanks dude!
Good stuff. Those off beat cymbal crashes with the left hand are so fun to play and sound great. Would you play a faster tune? Lagwagon 'may 16' or NoFX 'its my job to keep punk rock elite' for e.g..
Nofx beats are slayer esq. So fast.
A faster tune?! Haha, yeah man. One day...
@@beau5296 I saw an Instagram post from Erik Sandin (Nofx drummer) and he said he came up with the 'nofx groove' by playing Iron Butterfly 'in a gadda da vida' faster and faster until it was like 200bpm double time. Convergent evolution maybe with slayer.
@@mrbtapir that is awesome! I appreciate that comment letting me know. I love both bands!
@@beau5296 no probs mate!
Do you use Rimshot for every accent on the snare drum?
Yes, I do.
Are you use crashs for hi-hat?
my mans loves a fat snare
Yessir
Rat Scabies of The Damned is a great punk drummer to check out
Copy that!
wow ,if there was a camera on foot....it would be nice to sse your foot speed
I’m working on that man! I actually had a foot cam for this video but hated how it looked. I do have 2 videos on foot technique that you can go check out however! They’re a month or two old. But I’m using the techniques I described in those videos. The “heel-up” and the “slide”. Hope they help you out!
Anything below 260 bpm is slow for power metal and death metal drummers ^^
2 dislikes??? C'mon!!! Get lost!!!
