Excellent video. You are a very good teacher. Many thanks for sharing
Im a local to the Black Country but my boyfriend is not, so I took him to the Black Country museum yesterday, and they had lots of beautiful castles and roses painted items in the gift shop. It's a style ive seen a million times but like a bell ringing I was like "... I bet with the know how, thats pretty simple to do" so now I'm here learning how to do it! So thank you! A little bit of my Black Country Heritage to add a bit of depth to my art! Wonderful tutorial and beautiful work!!!
Check out "Rosemaling" it's a very similiar style from Norway and during my research I found it very helpfull, all the best from sunny Scotland!!
Beautiful thank you for sharing
Thank you for this. I was getting a bit confused with how to put these pieces together but this is clear and concise and I'm going to give it a go now!
Excellent video
Amazing!! Thanks so much for uploading this.
My Granddad uses to call it the Cut instead of the Canal too lol.
He was one of many families who grew up on the canal working with my great grandparents so I've always been to boat shows and as I've got older I've got more and more instrested in the Rose's and Castles boat artwork.
You're very calm and informative, thank you. 😁👍
❤
Brilliant! thank you. You make it look so achievable. I can wait to get started! X
Fantastic! My lovely Mother has sold her house to buy a canal boat. She has asked me to decorate a few things in this style for her (definitely not a style i am comfortable with as a surrealist sketch artist) but this tutorial was very clear, easy to follow and the end result is BEAUTIFUL xx
Totally brilliant demonstration, thank you
Love the painting, 👍
Very very good tutorial. Thank you
Best tutorial yet. Thank you
top notch😊 thanks!
Thank you for the information and instructions so helpful. Just wondering how you set out your design on black base? Love the green you've made too, thx again
Maravilhoso , obrigada por compartilhar ❤
Absolutely fantastic.
Absolutely amazing can you make more of these videos … love your work ❤️your explanation is wonderful thank you
Great video, thanks. I've been asked to paint some plaques for a friend, and I wasn't sure how to do it. This is very useful. Thankyou.
Thanks Kerri, your video has inspired me to have a go at my own roses. Are you going to create a video showing how to create castles? I'd love to learn. Many thanks and stay safe
Your brilliant and funny thanks for teaching me youd an inspiration
Enjoyed! Thank you!
This art is truck art in grate pakistan u r nice artist safeer ali sign artist
Fabulous. Very clear video. Very cheery and relaxing. I am watching sign painting videos in preparation for painting my first shop sign - for my first shop. Very exciting. Kerri, I notice you paint wth your paint tubs open. Have you seen the technique where some sign painters use a screw to pierce a hole in their paint tin? They unscrew the screw and squeeze the tin to get paint out into a cup. This allows them to keep it closed and allow very little new air in. Apparently makes paint go a lot further. Anyway, thats how to suck eggs! Loved this video more than most. Love the whole attitude to art. Very skillful too. Thanks
Very good! thank you
Fantastic video Kerri. Thank you for sharing this. X
Glad you enjoyed it!
When you are "adding a bit of depth" to the white rose shading, here you did this in black.
My question is, is that step always to be black or does it depend on the colour of the background, which in your case IS black? If the background for example is blue or green, does this 'depth' need to be blue or green respectively?
❤
Lovely tutorial thank you. Any hints for painting direct to gold leaf, Should I paint direct or apply a clear acrylic first? Thanks very much x
Hi Kerri, love your demo. I teach to group of elderly folk with limited Fine Motor skills. I would like to replicate your demo for them is that ok?
Very interesting canal painting. Seems most is what we call comma strokes.(US). Love this... clear and no fuss. Going to do this..are there other patterns of flowers? Thank you soooo much
It's like listening to a friend... Such a good video. You say it's not a tutorial, but it teaches a whole load of stuff! Brilliant, am inspired to give it a go. On every single surface in the house!! Bless you for this, it's really lovely! Did NOT lose the will to live, either!
Hello lovely. Found this great demo thanks. Had a go. The whole pushy down pulls up with acrylics is really hard. Fine on paper. Right mess on pot. Enjoyable tho!
Trust me, the more you practise the better it gets. I've just about got this, 4 out of 5 times! (The 5th time it's really pants, though! XD )
Are there patterns for placement ? Lovely gotta do this. Are colors traditional. I'm sure they were bright to identify boat.
Hello . Very informative video . I live on a narrow boat and want to start painting things on our boat . What basic colours do you recommend and use please ? And can i get the brush cleaner you use from the same supplier ? . Thank you in advance . Ian .
Talk too much..just do it.!
I am glad she talks a lot; without the benefit of a face-to-face teacher, her talking is really really useful! You can always turn the sound off, I'm glad to listen!
Me too.. that's part of it. Sheesh
I’m new to this so just starting out I can’t get on with the brushes and acrylic paints I have , could you recommend
