  • Our coverage of the 51st running of the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals continues from Willowbank Raceway in Queensland. In this edition, we bring you all the action from Pro Alcohol. It’s a class known for its unpredictability, its wide variety of chassis (Dragsters, Alterds, Funny Cars) and close competition.
Heading into the final round of the 400 Thunder Drag Racing Series, Steven Reed is hoping to claim his second national title, 25 years after winning his first and so far only national championship to date.

The Aussie drag racing is fun to watch. I’m not used to seeing dragsters, altereds, and funny cars run against each in the alcohol class. The Pro Slammer class is my favorite; somewhat similar to the Pro Modified class here in the “Colonies”.

04:32 Look at the blower on the altered. Looks like it banged the blower but there's no liquids escaping. Did the engine mounts snap?

No it just banged the blower. It's just flapping around in the breeze by the straps.
