  • Hi friends,
In this video Meghan and I drove 2.5 hours from Denver to Rye, Colorado to see the amazing Bishop Castle. We were so impressed to go from reading about Bishop Castle to seeing it. Jim Bishop has built what, we seem to think, is the largest one man structure. Bishop Castle is a feat of engineering and an ode to one man's true genius. If you are ever in Colorado this must be a site you visit. Hats off to you Jim Bishop...

We met Jim in 2019. He's eccentric for sure but man everyone should see and appreciate this. :)

The stained glass was all so mesmerizing in the sun! Jim makes it very well known around the property that this castle is built by the people for the people.

Correction, the stain glass was done by other artists, but he installed the windows, everything else, Jim did it all by himself, no body helped him at all ,!!!! in the build if it, NOBODY, HE DID IT ( ALL BY HIMSELF )

I've been going there since the early 80's. Talked to Jim and Phoebe many times. Some of your "facts" are not quite correct! Nice job on the pics, tho...👍

Our “facts” come straight from their website.

Jim didn’t build it, God did. That should answer your proto doc questions.

it’s a liability issue, a tv show features him and gets more people to come, some dummy gets hurt, lawsuit. That’s why only youtube and social media is showcasing this. Personally I think it’s awesome and I plan on visiting one day, but alas we live in America, a very litigious society lol

Come sooner than later. Jim's not looking so good these days and especially after Phoebe passed. There's no telling what kind of access we'll have to the property after he''s gone.
