This week's Adam Savage video has a walkthrough of the IT server room/complex, including showing the card mockup models. The room with all the lights, where Bernard was talking with Meadows about the Order, is called the "Algorithm Room", and it houses an AI virtual assistant (interesting!). The servers are in a different room that you need to pass through to get to the algo room. Also visible in the models is a massive room beyond that, with bookshelves & spiral staircases. They pointedly ignored it in the video, but I suspect that's Solo's hideout from the book. They just didn't put it below the servers. Maybe we'll see that in episode 5? Also speculation: they have this AI become the big bad in future seasons, rather than Silo 1, which would neatly circumvent a lot of the stuff in Shift...
Some spoiler talk, first wth regards to shift, i think that will be its own show, and that the 4 seasons will only cover wool. It will require a whole cast of new characters. Like a prequel with maybe a cameo or two of characters from silo 17/18. However it’s not a true prequel since there is some current time info also, a lot of time jumps back and forth between different times… I am trying to figure a way where Lucas will fit in, in the show, no point in having him here if he is only going to be in the mines, and he is a pretty big part of juliets motivation. Since the judge meadows story is not in the book i can only speculate. I think Bernard will call Lucas to a private meeting, ask him about the conversation he had with meadows, where he will tell him he figured out the ball earth ect… and Bernard will figure out how smart Lucas actually is. Probably comparable to meadows, at least in Bernards eyes, so thats his opportunity to find out whats in the letter. He will make Lucas his shadow so he can fix the hard drive disk and than decifer the letter that meadows figured out, and didn’t tell Bernard, or us, what it said. There needs to be a point of the letter being mentioned in the first place. The letter will vaguely and i mean vaguely, explain why everyone is in the silo, I don’t want to say why so I don’t reuin it for catfish! 😂 (he can’t handle the truth!). He will be working on that letter the whole time also while takling to juliet during the seasons on the radio, and the letter will be revealed to julet or Bernard in the end or near the end of season 4 so we can introduce the new Apple show “shift” the histery of Silo! If the real under water walk to drain silo 17 happens on episode 9 as you said from that preview reviewer said, then that means episode 10 will leave Juliet to discover the injured Solo and may or may not reveal the kids as a cliffhanger for season 3…. That is my theory time 2cent guess! Ok 5 cents….
I think Silo 1 will be revealed as the mysterious higher power Bernard must answer to at the very end of season 2. We will probably get a scene after the return of Julia to Silo 18 which shows the control room in 1, with Donald & Thurman watching the action (with great concern) as she returns. It will be a "Who the heck are THOSE guys? And, OMG, they've been watching everything all along!" - leaving the question to be answered in season 3. Although clues that there is some higher authority that has Bernard at its beck & call, as well as the power to at least interfere with what's happening in 18 (or even "kill everyone in the silo") appear at some tense moments during season 1: Bernard's key to the server room lights up with no explanation when something important is happening, & the monitor cameras start blacking out with no explanation as Sims & the raiders are closing in on Sim's apartment where they presume Jules to be after locating the hard drive there. There is certainly a way to reveal the back story, why the silos were created, in season 3, in an abridged version, perhaps one or two episodes going back in time, & then go back & forth between 1, 18, & 17 in the "present" day.
@@DoublePMedia I haven't gone there. But I don't see how the story unfolds much longer - or makes sense - without some reveal of Silo 1. I do think the clues pointing to its existence in season 1 are indicators the writers will be putting Silo 1 into the last couple of episodes of season 2, maybe first with more unexplained clues as in season 1, & finally showing us the "controllers" themselves - Thurman, Donald - etc. as they observe the goings on in Silo 18 once Jules returns. It will be more of a "teaser" scene, leaving a fuller explanation of what we are seeing for season 3. (Just as the last scene of season 1, the panoramic view, & revelation there was not just one, but many silos, was a, "If you wanna know what this all means, come back for season 2!" teaser, they will do the same with Silo 1 as the very last scene in season 2.) Btw, in season 1, episode 9, I immediately thought, "Donald is shutting down the screens!" when they went black. It points to an eventual Silo 1 reveal. Anyway, that's what I'm hoping! I will be disappointed if we don't get at least a few glimpses of Silo 1 by the end of season 2.
I think at the end of season 2 Jules is gonna talk to Bernard over the radio. Then season 3 and 4 would include flashbacks with the founders and stuff?
My theory for how they'll emd S2 is some kind of vague introduction to Silo 1. Then S3 will likely be intercutting Juliette's return with Silo 1's origin
@ I felt like the silo blueprint with the tunnel was leading to something and I can’t wait to see which of us is correct. I love the book series and I watch every week with anticipation to see what is gonna happen.
Do you guys already have any theories about what could be in Salvador Quinn’s letter? I have two ideas: 1. It might be about the origin of the Pact-not something the residents of the silo came up with, but something established by the authorities in Silo 1. It could also reveal the full truth about the rebellion. 2. He might have written about how much longer they’ll need to stay in the silo. Like in the books, where Supply calculated that the resources and spare parts would last for roughly another 300 years. The judge might have been so frustrated because she realized she would never see the outside world with her own eyes.
I put my long winded comment seperate, but i think it will be a the short answer of the reason they are there, this upset Meadows, (as well as Catfish) and will be the set up for the new Apple show “Shift”
I’m not sure how exactly they’re planning to finish the season or what the critics have been writing, but the full OST is available on all music platforms. Judging by the track titles, it seems like the storyline of the show will follow the book’s plot completely.
The names of the Tracks in OST: 1. Save My Silo 2. Sea of Skulls 3. Silo 17 4. Solo 5. On the Inside 6. Mirror Mirror 7. Ambush 8. Something to Believe In 9. Solved the Code 10. Ice Cream 11. Underwater 12. I Get It 13. Rebels Caught 14. Factor You In 15. Wish Me Luck 16. Deep Dive 17. Turbine On 18. What Did You Say to Bernard 19. Opening Silo 18 20. *Burn to Death*
I think you have book reader's bias re: the pacing of the rebellion. your statement "everyone knows there's gonna be a rebellion, just get on with it" reflects that perfectly. Not everyone knows that for a fact. They were hoping maybe Juliette could stop it in the nick of time.
@@Hobodeluxe007 I disagree. episode 3/Solo laid it out for them. A rebellion is happening. Non readers may not be impatient like me (and I said that) but they know it’s coming
@@DoublePMedia not all of them. or to what extent it will be carried out/successful etc. I think they're saving the latter portions of the whole transition part to be interlaced with flashbacks to give us the pre-apocalypse plot stuff from shift. I don't think they will spend an entire season or even many entire episodes in the past. It will be given to us as flashbacks as the others find out.
Adam Savage of Myth Busters fame has several videos with the staff of the Silo TV series. Interesting content about FX and set design and construction you might enjoy.
I think they will do flashbacks of shift interspersed throughout the 3rd season until it coincides with present events and then male a big reveal of communication with silo 1 as the final connection bringing everything to the present as the end teaser of the 3rd season then the 4th season will be Dust.
I was happy to see Lucas back, his reduced role is the biggest deviation from the book imho. I think they probably should have changed things combined George and Lucas on the show. I think they can make it work but they need to get moving. I don't see this Bernard and Juliette taughting each other but we'll see. I hope they do finish the first book this season.
I felt like past of Silo 17 is not that important for story. But i definitely want to see everythin realted to building of silos and what happened before and stuff with Donald and Thurman. I will be really dissapointed if they somehow skip that.
The silo series is the wool book only. No shift or dust. 4 seasons for just one book.....then make fans beg to get the other books made into a few series. Or movies.
What are your book spoiler thoughts on SILO episode 4?
