My guess is that Solo is the sheriff’s son that brought the letter from mechanical. The sheriff has another man take him and told him to keep him safe. I think that Solo is that boy. That is why he knew the school room so well. I think he was raised in the vault and that is why he is childish. The other Solo, the one in the picture, may have been the IT person and gave solo his name. Living alone probably messed up solo.

Oooh..I like that theory. Would explain why he's so educated (studying everything in the vault), but still so childlike.
