I just discovered Colin Lawson. I really like the sound he gets from his keyless clarinet. As a clarinet player I notice the difference in sound without the keys, it is much smoother. I really like the sound of the Basset horn in this piece. Beautiful sound from the other quintet musicians in this work. Well done
feel totally ashamed that it has taken 2 months to respond to the many RUclips messages, including yours. Please be assured that moving forward, I and my Samek Music team will be prompt and responsive. so glad to read your comments. The sound of a period clarinet is very special and as you say without the keys the tonal quality and smoothness is gorgeous, particularly when played by Colin Lawson. If I may take the liberty of suggesting that you might be interested in colin Classical Collection samekmusic.com/shop/colin-lawson-s-classical-collection/ Please do not hesitate to be in touch with me via email victoria@samekmusic.com with any enquiries. Having a C clarinet feels like a luxury but if you can find a reasonably priced nice instrument, I'm sure it will prove very useful in so many different situations and even open up opportunities for playing. Should you need any guidance, please do feel you can contact me via email victoria@samekmusic.com

Thanks,Good to hear something new [to me] and of course excellent from the Kochel catalogue. Remember Michael[Best regards] at Derby School playing K622 circa 1964 and playing NYO @ RFH. Later 1968, as a contrast at Empire Theatre Sunderland which was superior to any venue in Derby in those days ! Mr [R] Allitt taught me physics, not wind instruments and I was struggling with the piano concs K414 to K595, Dave Newbould and cricket ?

These are wonderfull wind instruments. I could hear them for hours. 👍Musicians that stick to their modern instruments for this beautifull music are so wrong! As would colour and blending of sound not matter to Mozart.
Sorry, this playing is mostly out of tune, coarse at tutti, but most of all falls bellow any musicianship and that's been in simple disastrous interpretation!
Good job showing us all you have no ability what so ever to hear fractions. This is correct for the time (instruments sounding very different depending on the key, also not 442Hz). Clarinets are NOT spot on all the time, and way high on some notes. But hey you are probably so right! Where do you work?
Very good presentation. I liked very much. These old clarinets are very interesting.
This was great, thanks so much.

I have been debating if to get hold of a clarinet in C for years.
After listening to this it certainly has encouraged me to do so.

I have missed you. Ol friend.
Great

Who was your influence 🤔 oh Mozart personally hand wrote it in the room.
I love everything about this except for the “completion”. I say leave it off where Mozart left it.

Strings in particular... (violin out of tune is not acceptable, newer been, newer will, clarinets are spot on...)
Actually I would say Mr Lawson is consistently sharp. Maybe admin really is the best occupation for him.

I am profoundly sorry for your deafness and I hope you recover from it very soon.
