@@aRealAndHumanManThingas a person whos been in the community awhile, furries who have money LOVE spending it on what they enjoy. if they got the money laying around they will buy it. ive seen lots of furry community auctions that people just go bonkers bidding for so they they guarantee themselves getting that item. pretty sure they care less about the money, and more about securing their chance of getting said item

Honestly, good for MultiColorBark for being able to sell a suit for that amount! I know fursuit prices are a hot topic in the Fandom but I'm of the opinion that artists should be able to charge what they want. And it's not like huge corporations are making these suits, freelance artists are, this money is going directly to the person making these works of art! If fursuit makers can make a good living off their suits, then good on them.
I know some people have a problem with that mentality saying it will make it harder for people in the Fandom to get suits and to that I say two things. One, suits aren't required to be in the Fandom. And two, the furry Fandom is freaking enormous, if you search hard enough you can find one in your budget.
This is literally why popular fursuit makers/furry artists are so successful. sure ppl are gonna think its stupid to “waste” your money on that but r yall forgetting the frickin louis vuitton bag that sold for like 63k?? and the billionaires who buy paintings of a line.
ppl be hating on furries when they just get bank everyday. 🤷♀

Here's what I like about this.
For people like me, we have a rather simplistic sona design. It's not a terribly big deal but sometimes you do feel... inadequate??
Because your sona might not have these intricate details and colors like this one sona may have.
This suit/sona design just goes to show you that complexity isn't everything. Not to take anything away from this sona, it's beautiful in its simplisticy

I think its also the fact that with auctions there isnt really a set price so if someone has money like that it could definitely get crazy, a good example is car auctions, a car that is worth maybe 40k-50k can sell for WAYYYY more then expected, but thats just my thoughts, the suit is beautiful and im glad the maker was able to make that sale
as nice as it wouldve been to get a fursuit when i first became a furry, i dont really go anywhere or do anything that i can justify spending the money on. but that is definitely looking like it could change in the next few years for me.
However, ive been a furry for about 15 years now. 15 years ago, there werent that many fursuit makers that were professionally hand crafting these suits like now. now there are a lot more people selling them. the ones whove been around for a long time are definitely worth more than someone who has been doing it for a short amount of time. youre not paying for the suit. youre paying for the years of experience the maker has building suits. knowing what fur to get, knowing how to get fur patterns just right, knowing what the customer wants with a vague description and a few conversations.
heres a good analogy: you have a problem in your home. lets say you have an electrical problem. you hire 2 or 3 different electricians, they all know what the problem is, they all try different solutions that theyve seen work, but it doesnt work for you. they each spend hours solving this problem but have a lot better looking prices. and then you hire the 4th one who is a lot older, maybe a bit more rough around the edges to say politely. he goes in, 5 minutes later, fixes the problem, but charges as much or more than the others you hired before. youre not paying him for the amount of time it took to complete the job. youre paying for the experience he's gained in 30 years knowing exactly where the problem lies, and already knows exactly what the problem is just from what you, as a customer, has said about the other guys, maybe without you even realizing that what you told him already narrowed it down

there are *so* many people out there making and selling fursuits if you just look farther than the most popular(who are obviously gonna be most expensive lol)
$20k is crazy high for what you'd actually want to spend on a suit, especially your first one. There are many makers out there that go as low as $1000 for a partial (or lower). I own a kemono-style full suit and the base price was $3500 from a Chinese maker and the quality of my suit is on par with western creators who charge significantly more due to cost of living differences for example. Find yourself a maker who charges something within a reasonable budget and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. ^_^

The people hating on the maker and the buyer just proves to me the furry fandom has jealousy issues, like those who get mad that furries are “rich” because they own one or two suits in general even if they aren’t rich at all. It’s the buyers choice how much they wanted to pay and MCB’s just made the auction and can’t just tell this individual no you can’t have it. I’ve seen a fur claim that multi color bark a sellout and only heard towards “popufurs” all for the fact someone who had quite a bit of money bought this suit. And while I personally don’t agree with paying that much for a simple wolf partial, in the end it’s that individuals choice and neither the maker nor buyer is hurting anyone by purchasing a luxury item that takes slot of time and skills to make.

Rich people use money on way dumber stuff all the damn time. Have you SEEN how much some _paintings_ are sold for? Fursuits are a luxury item. They are a piece of art, and the makers put so much time, care and love into them. If someone want to spend 22k on a suit? Good for them, and good on the maker!

I wouldn’t really call this design super original or unique, but I guess it’s a mix of quality, pattern and colors. MCB is one of the best makers in the fandom (in my opinion), and their suits are very sought after.

I've seen people waste way more than that on nft, gambling, and so on. So by comparisons it's not that bad, still a lot tho.
I think its also important to remember that cheap fursuits still exist! There are so many beginner makers who make good fursuits, people just need to look around for them ^^!
The suit does look amazing and just dang that's a lot. I can just imagine all the material and fabric that could go to.

Personally I wonder when q fursuit becomes the price of a car. Is the time materials qnd the needs of the maker made or is this more just a way for q few good artists to be millio airs while others barely stay above water and in this economy. Who are these people buying these suits. It's not your regular Joe. Just worried like homes tho fursuits are a luxury in every sense. Just worried it will be like homes in the usa and they get owned buy mega corps qnd monopoly that niche and shit becomes a thing for only a very limited few and isn't community but money and status a suit is. This fursuit is more expensive than my apartment. I bought an apartment for 1,420,000₽(about $ 14,576.87) and I don't understand why fursyurt is more expensive than housing. And it is better to buy a house than this fursuit, because the benefits of housing are greater than from fursuit
