It doesn't matter because the team pays for the house/bikes/cars/vans/food/fuel/teavel etc... so essential he doesn't need much more to love as he lives that lifestyle. Good way to have it really.
Bernal has a lot of money. He just loves to race and manage the team. The way he talks seems like money isn't a problem for him! I love BK
Luckily he has a few quid in the bank and some solid business ventures/investments supporting him. He doesn't need to earn money racing to survive unlike a lot of privateers. Glad he can support the riders that he does (especially the youth riders) without having to justify his existence to a board of directors or owners. It's a refreshing business model (and not one that would work in most scenarios).

@@ceogeo6106In 2022 Pivot won the DH Junior World Cup. It was a youth they’ve supported: JaNayNay, now riding Elite and did well despite an injury last year. There are two others.

Most business owners only make whatever is left at the end of the year. Thats the way business works. THose are then paid as dividends to reduce the tax burden

Didn't realise Bernard was the Pivot team. I mean, I knew, but I didn't know, you know? Haha.
This doesn't make sense. You still need to know how much to ask for to "know" that you can afford everything for a season. I think he is essentially doing the basic maths of "I asked for $XXX last year and had $YYY leftover. If there wasn't enought left over I need to ask for more this year." I get that, there must be a good amount of cream at the end for him to be confident there will still be money in the bank to pay for flights to the last race. Maybe he is just a way better business man than me🤷
I call BS, dont you need to know how much everything costs so you know how much money to raise through the sponsors in order to pay the bills in order to know that you have enough money to make it through the year??
