    Sheryl, thank you so much for all the knowledge and joy you put out in the world!
    You quickly became my primary source of knowledge for yarn dying and I continuously refer back to your videos when I’m faced with a mystery to solve.
    Your lovely personality and energy is just a breath of fresh air and I just want to say thank you!!❤

    Hi everyone. Thank you for watching my series on hand dyeing yarn - the basics. It's been a joy to create these videos, however they do take a lot of time and effort. Over the next month or so I will be moving to a new location which will involve setting up a new dye space. I won't be doing many videos if any during this time but hope to have new content as soon as I'm settled. Until then I wish you all the best of health and look forward to sharing new things with you soon.
    Sheryl, EOA

    • @EssenceofAutumnYarn

      You're welcome. Don't be intimidated, it's only string. You may create some really ugly yarn at first but that's ok because you will learn things as well so that your next attempts will be more successful. Just have fun and go for it.

    What is the temperature of the oven?

    • @EssenceofAutumnYarn
      @EssenceofAutumnYarn  8 месяцев назад

      The dye manufacturer will recommend the temp you should use to set the dye properly so just follow that.

  • @justsomeharpist692

    Do you ever have issues with the yarn being hotter at the top of the proofer than the yarn at the bottom? Does this impact your consistency?

    • @EssenceofAutumnYarn
      @EssenceofAutumnYarn  2 года назад

      No issues, the proofer gives me even heat throughout.

    • @justsomeharpist692
      @justsomeharpist692 2 года назад

      @@EssenceofAutumnYarn Thanks for your response! Did you buy yours new or used? Any brands I should stay away from?

    • @EssenceofAutumnYarn
      @EssenceofAutumnYarn  2 года назад

      I purchased new. I just went to the nearest restaurant supply to me (which was still 3 hrs away) and bought the model I could afford. The price was the deciding factor for me not so much how it performed. I think all proofers no matter the brand will work the same you just have to decide how much you want to spend.

      I haven't personally but there are videos on youtube where it's used for dyeing. Once you do though it should never be used again for food.
