Surprise vlog from today!! Linda and I took off work to spend time with friends an hour away. Big hugs from Japan! Send this video to someone who would find it interesting- leave any questions you have below! What was the most interesting or surprising part for you?
I love how you've really made an effort to learn about Japane culture and that you've met some very interesting locals! It must be a truly priceless experience having coffee and treats with the girls in Japan!! Definitely kawaii!
This may be a silly question, but I'm curious - do you carry a pair of slippers in your purse for you to wear indoors when you visit others? What is the situation with that?
I feel like an anthropologist watching how you negotiate your way through your life in Japan, learning new skills, developing relationships, becoming accustomed to the language. It is great that you have a supportive and friendly environment, too. Quite fascinating!
I was planning to visit Japan but I got a strange serious sickness which breaks all my blood vessels😢 and I had to quit my job and I started RUclips... I still have to go to the hospital every single day but I will beat this sickness and I'll visit Japan one day☺️❤️
I love your videos! I lived in Japan for 8 years because my dad was in the military. It’s so nice to see you respect the local culture and actually immerse yourself in it.
What a nice day! Sensei's cow calligraphy was so adorable. I think the way you and Linda have made friends with people older than you is so cool. From pottery, to bread, to calligraphy you're able to learn and appreciate traditional Japanese arts. I hope that the preservation of historic crafts is something many people appreciate. Is Japan like the states when it comes to the younger generation leaving the countryside? Thank you for sharing!
Your videos bring so much joy to everyone and I get so excited when there's a new video! Thank you for everything you do! You've truly inspired me to push for my dreams and travel!
Hi Caitlin! I’ve been following your journey for a while now, but this is my first comment. I just wanted to share that I admire your curiosity! You always show respect while interacting with new people, things, and experiences and it’s heartwarming to see. ❤️ Keep being you! Love Daisy from California
Hi! I have been watching your videos and love them all! I’m originally from Tokyo, living in the OC in California, planning to go back to Japan for a visit in December! Can’t wait😆💕 I really appreciate you appreciating my home culture🍣🌰 I wish I did shodo more seriously when I was younger😔 Thank you for all your videos🙏
She’s online studying with a japanese teacher, they never talk in english and japanese only, usually she’d go to school or wherever the teacher is but because of the pandemic she’s doing it online
Hi Kaitlin, amazing video as always. Your videos are very relaxing to watch. Keep up the good work. P.S. can you do a video about all the weird vending machines you have come across in your travel through Japan.
Love the vlog ❤ seeing how you experience Japan and learning is so lovely. Had my breakfast and coffee while watching is such a great way to start the day. My bf and I are currently trying to save for one day going to visit Japan. It will be a few yrs from now but gives us time to learn more of the culture and some of the language before we go. Thank you for your showing us some of Japan and love your sweet personality 😊
I love watching your videos so much! They are so relaxing 😌 You are such a kind, genuine person and your enthusiasm for life and experiences is inspiring ❤️❤️❤️
What wonderfully informative content, and beautiful editing! Loved this, and love seeing this side of Japan through your perspective! We always look forward to your videos, and I often find myself wanting to try something new after watching your channel! Thank you for the great content!
I love your videos. Vlogs like these make me feel nostalgic for somewhere I’ve never been. Thank you for sharing your experiences in Japan! I can’t wait to go one day 💗
Not sure if you have already but can you do a short or long video on the process of moving to Japan for work... your videos are always insightful ❤️ much love 💕
Love your clear and understandable vision on Japanese culture! I have never been so into in a RUclips channel before! Thx for the experience in both ways! So much to tell and show to the Western world! :) Arigatō
I’d rather take time to thank this wonderful community for loving and supporting my page - always such positive energy and spreading kindness. The world needs more of it!!
As I'm Japanese, I admire and respect you very much living in Japan such far away from your home. Hope you are comfortable enough here. Thank you for spreading Japan to all around the world. I would love to go back to the U.S after covid as well^^
Usually you make your own stamp and you put your stamp on every your SHO. next time you should make your stamp! It will be so fun!! By the way I loooooove your channel !!! You more enjoying life here than regular Japanese !!! I located Between Kobe and Osaka ! we are English speaker so you should come visit us one day!!!!
the people seem so nice in Japan, what you golden tip for making friends in Japan DO & Don'ts and i dont know if you already made a video but what kind of things do you which you knew before going there?
Omygosh I love the boots you wore in the beginning of the video during the calligraphy class! May I ask what brand they are? I’m a new sub and love your videos and content, makes me miss Japan!
Wow shodo looks so beautiful! It must be really hard to if your Japanese skills aren't the best (not saying that your Japanese are bad, but Japanese isn't your mother language.).I never knew you were left handed btw! I'm also left handed. Studies has shown that left handed people are actually smarter and have generally higher iq than right handed people! THAT FOOD LOOKS AMAZING! And it was pretty cheap for what you get too! Could you maybe sometime do a cooking video where you try different Japanese foods? Your sensei looks so cute! It must be so fun to pick the pottery! Didn't you get to do they last time you filmed a video there too?
To be honest ( not dramatic but honest ) YOU and your RUclips Channel made my entire 2020 so much better! Besides Corona and everything I was very down lately. But there are some things I really love - LANGUAGES AND JAPAN! And your channel is one of the best things ever happened to me on the internet! I watch your videos every morning when I have breakfast or feel down, your IG stories of Gus Gus every morning make me so happy! I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my 2020 so much better! I love your Videos and your content! You are such a lovely person and very inspiring! I am very glad to be a 'part' of your journey even tho I am in Germany. As long as it gives you joy and happiness I hope you continue documenting your journey! I felt the need to say thank you because I have free access to your videos but they are like a therapy and happiness guarantee to me! They are best medicine during this pandemic and the best medicine for my depression and anxiety you motivate me almost every day and you spread positive and lovely vibes thank you so much for all of that!! best wishes Elisa ❤️
Hi Elisa! Thank you so much for your kindness. and sincerity! You know, I really started filming and editing on RUclips during the quarantine part of COVID, when I wasn't working anymore... in a way making the videos and sharing my life was therapy for me. I love how it has helped me, and in turn helps you... a full circle moment for us both on receiving ends
What a beautiful video exploring and learning an amazing culture. Just wondering, does your husband get to experience things like this or maybe not so much when he is away from home? Is he also learning the beautiful language of Japanese? (Or already know it?) I love your videos! I always click on your videos as soon as I see a new one pop up! :D
I would like for you do a video if you get a chance to do one of you shopping at Costco. I read that there are 16 Costco in Japan. And, also there also an Ikea. Did you by any chance do an Ikea video? If, not. please do one.
I really love how your voice changes when you pronounce something in Japanese 💜 like "tempura"! I believe one of the most interesting things about learning another language is how our voices change when we speak in that language!
Man - you have so much fun - except creating a tripping hazard with your ‘working boots’ / grebs... lol. Did your husband question you when you were packing to Japan ? And ask - “That’s an awful lot of laces” ... I can’t figure it out whether you had tea or coffee and I’ll take your word that the custards were good ... ?? Thanks for the out of home trip ... we’re all going back into second wave lockdowns ... 🥴
I absolutely loved this vlog, your bread sensei is so so cute. When you ended with coffee all I remember from when I was trying to learn Japanese is Kohi wa do ( spelling may be off) I was trying to say would you like coffee in Japanese. thank you for the surprise video.
This is going to sound a little backhanded but stick with me lol, when I first found your instagram I honestly thought you were gonna be yet another white girl trying to make their move to another country an aesthetic, and when I learned that you were from the south I was also a little more skeptical... but lately I’ve realized that you’re actually a nice exception, you are appreciative of the Japanese culture and are actually willing to learn and respect it, and you seem to have a kind personality 😌 I was proven wrong and it’s relieving
This was so needed today, I love your content and watching your YT and IG has become a regular stress relief for me during these trying times. Thank you for all you do for us. Sending you love and best wishes from the UK :)
I really enjoyed this video!! Now I really want to see calligraphy sensei’s house! That seemed like such a cool experience! And they seemed so kind. Side note: HOW ADORABLE is bread sensei!? Her collection of beautiful pottery and teacups is amazing! 😍💖

They say calligraphy is meditative, but it always feels like wrestling an uncooperative mess to me! Your editing is goals!!

Could you please do a Q&A video! We'd like to get to know you a little better. Thanx!
Amazing!!💕😍😍
