pssst! If anyone has a great video about Christmas or New Years from the POV of a Japanese native, please send one OUR WAY! if not, I can totally ask if one of my friends would feel comfortable being interviewed / answering some of our Qs.. otherwise, everything I shared about how they celebrate the Holidays has all come from Qs I have already asked! (I'm just the middle man in the communication line, lol) Big Big Hugs!
The pottery is so nice!! I like to get a piece at a Ceramic Café and paint it each Xmas. Last year i did Xmas trees 9on egreen, one red, with grandients of the color and snow on them). Will be doing this year's soon, i'd like to get a church so i can build a little village over time, but i woul dpaint it neon colors with polka dots lol. Then you bring it back to the shop and they glaze it ❤️
I think the shopping bag thing has to do with politeness when giving a gift. When we introduced ourselves to our neighbors, we brought them gifts and my husband said it would be rude if we didn’t hand it to them in a bag. So each neighbor got the gift in an individual bag rather than handing them the box directly.
JA-Vlogmas is a brilliant name! I instantly smiled when you said it at the start of the video 😂😂 I'm from the Philippines and Christmas here is a loooooong holiday, it starts on September until mid-January? Sometimes early Feb 😂😂 I haven't experienced Christmas or any winter holidays in Japan, I would love to purely because of snow and just the feeling of winter because I know they don't celebrate Christmas there, but they party on the New Year's 😂😂 anyway, have a happy holidays ahead of you! Will be looking forward for the next JA-Vlogmas! 🎉🎉🎉
I’m SOOO GLAD I found your Christmas & vlogmas videos! I’m sure you’ll understand bc you grew up in the South so the HEAT is INSANE and when it’s THIS HOT I start pining for Christmas and Winter & will be traveling to Japan within the next few years so I’m SOOOO HAPPY to have found your RUclips. I wish to be cold and able to wear my cute things and not suffer in the heat of summer LOL I Love your channel so far so Exciting!!! Thank You!
Yesssss Ja-Vlogmassss!!!! I love all your videos! I can’t wait to see what other awesome videos you come up with doll! I’m officially in the spirit now 🎄🎅🏽☃️

Ahh loved this so much! I used to be in pottery club in elementary school and watching your pottery making clips make me feel nostalgic and happy because they remind me of those fun times as a child :)
Oh hey! Are you going to do some fukubukuro shopping vlogs?? I would LOVE to see that! Your videos are so well made and have a sense of minimalistic style, they are lovely and you are progressing as a video maker. Well done, dear!
I love your videos!!!! Everything is so good... and I really would like to see more about anime the stores, museums, places, sculptures etc. Thank you. Hi from Colombia.
I'm so glad you decided to do Vlogmas every other day! It's more manageable for you and I love the longer videos, really looking forward to the next episode with all the gift wrapping 🎄🌟
Ahhh noooo! I was just getting into the festive mood and it finished! :) Looking forward to seeing the next one - really want yo see how the pottery turns out too!
Hey I live in Japan countryside too...I am allergic to egg white and I am finding it hard to find eggless bakery items...especially since it’s Christmas! Do you have any ideas?baking myself is not an option 😅
Ja-Vlogmas it is!! I am soooooo sad! I was supposed to be in Tokyo starting December 23rd thru January 6th. 🥺 I was so looking forward to the illuminations and the strawberry cake. These vids will help. 🥰
Just a comment about why businesses always give you a bag with gifts! It’s expected that you’ll be bringing it to someone’s home or to meet someone, and it’s for easy carrying on the train! Also a lot of people keep the bags to use again. Since it’s a Japanese cultural thing to always bring some kind of gift when you go on vacation or you visit someone you haven’t seen in a while or when you visit someone’s home or anytime lol it’s common to make it look really great presentation wise.
Hi! I believe the gift bag is just for presentation. It makes it look much more neat and presentable compared to just giving a box. It's polite to do so! Shows that you've put more thought and care into it that way. :)
Omg, I love Ja-vlogmas! I’ve been following you on IG for a while and just now subscribed to your YT channel. Loving the content so far! Happy Holidays!
Perfect way to start out the holiday season!! 🎅 🎄 it’s funny you talk about the shopping bags. When I was at universal studio Japan, I ended up talking with a cashier who spoke English and told her I was from Canada near Banff (the Canadian Rockies mountains is a very popular place for Japanese people to visit) and she was so excited. I told her I was buying souvenirs for my family and friends and she gave me sooooo many different sizes of the USJ bags lol. I still have those bags! I didn’t want to throw them away 😝
I think there is a business opt for you! Act as his exporter? Love his work. I’m for Merry Ja-Mas! I also think it would be great if you decorate outside and start the trend! Yuzu-rules! Have a great weekend with hubby and Gus-Gus!
Hi! Awesome video! I'm so exited for Ja-Vlogmas! It's been a while since I've been this early thanks to school:( I actually didn't know there was only 1% christian people in Japan! That's was way less than i thought because of how much christmas stuff I've seen from there. I play animal crossing, where it's a bunch of christmas events now. But they actually don't mention christmas a single time! Instead they call it "Toy Day". I really love your and your sensei's pottery! It's so beautiful! And the wrapping for the package is also so cool! I've actually only done Pottery once and it was just a simple bowl with white glace haha😅 Thanks for making this awesome content ❤️😊
i went to japan for christmas last year, and i swear on christmas day i noticed that nearly everyone around me was wearing jeans instead of dress clothes and i feel like it’s just an unspoken christmas tradition lol
This was SO cute!! I love JA-vlogmas!! :) Btw, does Gus try to eat your Xmas tree? I'm worried about my dog trying to get into it and have put off buying one this year LOL
pleaasseee get new year lucky bags to open on your channel too!!! love seeing them!!! iirc they're called fukubukuro! sharla in japan does unboxings of them too and i'm always super intrigued!!! 💞🥰
Would you be able to do an at home vlog. One where it’s like a behind the scenes view of you planning trips to kinda see the process you go through. Especially now with COVID. I always found the planning to be the most stressful/fun exciting part , we live vicariously through you now lol
Living in Ireland makes traveling around Europe to Christmas markets affordable and easy, so I’m very sad to be missing that tradition this year! Thanks for letting us virtually travel and experience another culture at Christmas through your videos ☺️ 🎄
@@heratlas Germany is top of my list, it was meant to be this year but it’ll have to be 2021 or 2022! Definitely go to Bruges though, I can’t recommend it enough it is straight out of a Christmas movie 😍😍
Shopping bags = long term advertising. You'll probably use it again and again, and carry it around with you or use it as wrapping and another person will get the store info that way. That's what I think, anyway. Og, and please spell what the word for bubble wrap is 😂😂 I need to know! Will only refer to it like this at work from now on 😂😂😂😂😂
Hi! Thank's for the videos! I just had to say...when you grab the pieces with only one hand it gives me mad anxiety lol How aren't you super paranoid about dropping them by accident? Happy Holidays!
Hi Caitlin! I've been loving your videos, they're making me miss Japan :( My grandma is living in Japan and wants to send a package to my aunt and cousins living in the US, but can't seem to find a company that allows her to do so. I was wondering what company you're using to send your christmas presents to your relatives in the US. Looking forward to the next JA Vlogmas video HAHA
