208cc Troy-Bilt electric start engine with 24 in. clearing width Remote crank chute control provides 180° chute control rotation Self-propelled drive, allows for control and versatility
When the forecast calls for up to a foot of snow, The Troy-Bilt STORM 2410 2-Stage Electric Start Snow Blower with 13 in. x 4 in. X-Trac tires and 24 in. clearing path will cut into large drifts with its 21 in. intake height and serrated steel augers.
Unless you regularly get more than 6 inches of snow at a time you deal with just a single stage snow thrower. If you get large amounts of snow then a two stage may be worth your investment. If you just have a small pathway and short driveway with less than 6 inches, a shovel may still be your best deal.
Now, that’s how you make an instructional video! Clear, concise, no macho bullshit. Thank you!
Thanks! I don’t like the overly produced videos. Get to the point and move on.
@@efd agree!
I’ve had my Troy Built 2410 for over a year now and I love it. I really like the electric start and it has plenty of power and can really throw snow. Before each use I spray silicone down the chute and impeller and it really helps to prevent clogging. I run Tru Fuel in it which has no ethanol in it and never had any problems with the carburetor getting gummed up and the jet’s clogged. It sat in my garage from March thru October and when we got our first snow of the year and it fired up on the first crank and the engine ran great.
I’ll have to give the tru fuel a try, I had to clean the carb due to some gumming up issues. I just posted that video.
Troy-Bilt (MTD) makes some great snow blowers. The Powermore engines are now the envy of the industry.
One thing that I cannot stress enough is to pre-treat EVERY drop of gasoline you use in the blower BEFORE putting it in the tank. This means to use a good fuel stabilizer (such as STABIL, or SeaFoam) added to your gas can before fueling your blower. (Read the mixing instructions/ratios for each product)
At the end of the season, drain the tank, let the blower run until it stalls, then either do one of these two things:
1) Add a bit more over-stabilized gas to the tank and let it run for a few minutes until it stalls. Then drain the carb bowl.
2) Add non-Ethanol gasoline (Such as TrueFuel) to your tank, let it run for a few minutes, and you are good to go. :)
Great tip on the gas, will have to start adding some stabilizer.
Well said

Looks great. Hope it helps you clear your driveway. Merry Christmas. Keep up the content!
Thanks, excited to try it out in the snow
Thanks... this is good information
Thanks, if you need any other info, let me know!
I just bought the same snow blower here in Indiana it works pretty good I have about 6 hours run time on it going to change oil and switch to synthetic but good machine so far hope you like yours
Mine has been running great, very happy with this purchase
@@efd Glad to hear the positive reviews on this machine. It is Summer here but I want to replace mine as soon as they are out in the store.
Saw some reviews that said this was trash I don’t know what to believe should I buy one or not?
I haven't had any issues with mine. I did need to clean the carburetor last year. Here is a video of that process: ruclips.net/video/w2xaa-Cw3nE/видео.html
I've had one since 2014. Regular maintenance and it'll last a long time. Mine still runs and looks new. If you wanna give it the closest thing to steroids, install an impeller kit! Mine would probably pump water! Lol impressive. Use fuel stabilizer!!!
I’m going to try the true fuel someone suggested, I had some carb gumming up so had to clean the carb this season
@@efd That'll work. I've always just used stabil without an issue
I brought one brand new went to use it first time and the drive belt came off , belt didn't look damaged so I put it back on but by this time I had already shoveled and didn't need to use it, following winter ,went to use it wouldn't start, carb needed to be cleaned, this models carburetor glues up easy, use only high octane gas! Cleaned carb got hit with 2 ft of snow from Storm izzy, went to use it belt fell off, I used a electric snow joe and it worked great, I'll never buy gas powered again, my electric snow joe starts up every time ,does the job even in heavy snow and I have no problems.
Not a 2410 fan but am an owner and constant mechanic. Carb is weak link, Good luck with it.
So far so good, I’ve used 2 or 3 times and it’s ran great. We’ll see after a season of sitting.
I meant to add: The machine I currently have is about 20 years old. It is a Craftsman that gave me a lot of problems when it was brand new. Warranty fixed those problems. My dilemma is should I look into fixing this one up? Pull cord broke years ago. Replacement coils are not available and are in the "obsolete" category when I used the internet to replace it. I have changed the oil and the plug every season and last year it ran fine. In PA, we had an usually active Winter 2020. I do not want to be caught with a dead machine so I am looking to buy a Troy Bilt but keep this Craftsman as a backup. What are your thoughts on repair or replace? Thanks!
I'm a fan on repairing as everything breaks eventually. Until it leaves you in a spot or the parts start adding up to where you could buy a new one, I repair. It was painful to spend the money on this one when the last one I got at a garage sale for $15 and put $40 into it . But it lasted several years and was great until it wasn't. :)
@@efd great insight and I appreciate you sharing your opinion on my question. I agree with you and I just needed some confirmation. Thanks, again!
Also, I have a brick driveway. It states that the skid plate has a factory set at 1/8 off the ground. Do I need to adjust this setting. I don’t want to ruin my driveway. However, I want to remove snow down to the pavement.
That might be some trial and error. I raised mine a little higher than 1/8” due to some unevenness in my driveway
Does this unit have the type of handles that will lock into place? I have an older Craftsman and I have to keep a closed grip around them both. I am looking to buy a new machine but definitely want one that has the lock-in-place type of grip(s). Thank you for the video, by the way!
This model does not have the lock in place handles. You have to squeeze and keep your grip.
@@efd thank you for your reply. I have carpal in my one hand and I am looking to find a machine that has the locking grips for that reason. Appreciate the quick response!
@@Electra225 fair enough, if you can’t find one, you could use a small bungee cord or something similar. Just be careful and stay safe 😀
@@efd great idea; will definitely give a try. Thanks, again. You stay safe also.
My first gas snow blower. Pretty much clueless! When in use, are you pressing down both the auger in conjunction with the drive handle.
Yep, the left side is the auger and the right engages the drive.
yes, but then you can release the drive handle like i do with mine because mine will stay in place until i let go of the drive handle then re adjust when moving it around. hope that makes sense
Can i turn off the snow blower by pushing the throttle to stop or do you recommend just pulling the key out?
A lot of snowblowers don't have a throttle control the speed is fixed . Some have an on-off switch , others like this one you have to use the key.
I have one and I bought it from a guy on Facebook market place in my area. I found that is was made rather cheap with all the plastic parts and I would not recommend it to anyone especially when its made by MTD. BAD NEWS.
I haven’t had any issues with mine other than having to spray the carburetor with some cleaner after it sat for the warm seasons. I have had it for 2 seasons. But time will tell 😀
We haven’t even used it yet but we can’t get the gears to engage, it’s brand new out of the box, what do you think would cause or how to fix
I haven’t ran into that issue, can you change gears? Is it not engaging when you press the handle down?
Mine had same problems it was out of adjustment had to adjust the gear lever
I just bought one of these and its great but its hard to shift into the second reverse speed. Does yours do that too?
I haven't had any issues shifting into the 2nd reverse. Its been running pretty well for me.
@@efd ok ty
@@thedude5472 Same, its hard.
@@finalresult3d it does get easier, I think it's just the tension on the spring that needs to loosen up
I used mine this morning and it went into reverse fine.
If it comes with a shovel that means it clogs!
LOL, didn't think of that! So far so good, I did get some ice buildup when using it during some freezing rain. Other than that, it's worked pretty well so far.
@@efd it will clog but I don’t think it will clog regularly but you will get some clogging!
