+Darkshard160 Yep. There's one on the 3DS (this one) and there's a sequel on the Wii U. It's SOOO good. Amazing graphics, music and gameplay. Oh...and it has 12 worlds, with each getting progressively harder. The twelfth world is basically like the Special World 8-Crown from 3D Land, but instead, it's World Crown, which has three insanely difficult stages.
If you get just the main Shine Sprites it's an awesome experience... even better than Mario 64! But if you want to complete it 100% it becomes a pretty terrible game. Some missions are insanely unfare and the search for the blue coins is the worst part of a 3D platformer ever. But again... if you complete just the "story mode" it's pure gold.
I got the collectors edition in a store 2 months after the game originally came out. I meant to buy the normal edition since I thought there was no way they still had the collector's, but they did! I was so happy then :)
I would like to mention if you haven't found the coin yet, One of the hardest one I've come across is looking through the Binoculars at one of the Toads. There was also one at the very end of the level (By the flag) Where you actually have to break one of the Blocks at the end of the level to enter a secret room. Some of the Coins had me scratching my head too!
The old Super Mario game for the NES I played it as a child and I still have the console and 2 editions of the game at my house. It's a childhood reminer and I will never ever give that away
I personally prefer 3D Land, but I don’t really know why. They’re both practically the same game, and 3D World does have some better elements, but there’s just something about the post game of 3D Land that I find to be better.
the one you can't find is on world 3-4 right? Wait near the end of the level for a flying block to pass by jump on it without hitting it and it will fly you to the star medal. im not good at describing stuff, so you should just look it up.
Have you unlock the secret level when you get all the gold flags after defeating all the other levels with mario and luigi? Its in the special 8th world where the pipe is
@JeremyJahns agree with everything you say btw one of the developers travels by train and said that it would be great if he had a small level he could beat and not be like in the middle of it and have to stop because he was eating or something like that so he decided to make small levels. yeah it makes the first worlds easy, thats why they included the special ones. the maximum lives you can get are 1,110 . I just wish they would make a game like super mario sunshine, I think thats my favorite
Umm I thought you had the option of whether or not to use the Invincibility Tanooki Suit... Or is it automatic? You can just choose to not hit the block, right?
3:02 DOUBLES THE SIZE OF THE GAME!!??!? The Special world levels were just the exact same levels with slight changes to make them harder. It felt like I was playing the exact same game but on hard mode.
Super Mario Sunshine is the pinnacle of platformers, it has great graphics and controls and content for it's time, it still looks very polished even today without it's HDness. The introduction of F.L.U.D.D. was an amazing mechanic that definitely added to the gaming experience without making the concept extremely foreign. Level design was balanced but original while keeping the "tropical island" feel, the special levels were platforming glory, and the hub world and extra things to do were good
My THREE favorite Super Mario games: 1. Super Mario Bros. 3 - because that was my first experience sneaking into the living room in the middle of the night to get more game time as a kid. 2. Super Mario Sunshine - because it's one of those things that doesn't seem fun on paper until you realize it has one of the most "fluid" movement dynamics in a Mario game + there are a ton of secrets and things to collect. 3. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Because it literally does everything from SMG1, plus a whole other game of new ideas, plus a whole other 120 stars after the first 120, and it does all of it well.
Well, the thing about Mario games is, everyone's favorite is the one that is most nostalgic to them. I have huge amounts of nostalgia with Mario 64 and many other 64 titles. I didn't grow up with the original Mario Bros. Trilogy, I played them later on on the FC-Twin (meant to play NES and SNES games). I do really like the old Marios, but I still really enjoy the 3D Mario titles better. Just my opinion.
Super Mario Galaxy for home consoles. Super Mario Land 3: Warrioland for mobiles (SML2: 6GC if that doesn't count). Yoshi's Island for games containing Mario but not really being about him. Galaxy was pretty much the most fun I had with a game in years! I was smiling all the way through.
I watched/read many many reviews on this game (even from the big gaming sites) and this is the first one that tackled my questions in a way that I feel informed enough to make a decision.
Hey Jeremy, sorry to hear that you didn't manage to get the Golden Wiimote Plus of The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword. But I can't imagine being in your place because I'm one of the lucky few who pre-ordered and got myself the Limited Edition and now own a Golden Wiimote Plus. That being said, I'm the 1% But do review the game please. It is undoubtedly the best The Legend Of Zelda game as of now.
Super Mario Galaxy/ Super Mario World BOTH for their respective dimensions. Galaxy was perfection and World for its nostalgia value. Seriously its like one of the first games I played. That theme is STILL stuck in my head.
Great review! This has nothing to do with anything, but the Tintin movie is coming out soon. If you want to do a review, might I recommend you read one of the comic books first?
i love this game, but the best part is the fact that after you beat the 8 worlds you have another 8 secrete worlds WHICH IS SO AWSOME, and thats when the crazy challenge starts, but my favorite mario game is mario galaxy 2
@Tokeupbro Yeah. I guess we can agree that Bowser needs better final fights. At least more challenging ones. Though the one in 3D Land is a step in a right direction.
You didn't though that they could only hold your copy for like 2 days? when I reserved this year I though they might have a time limit for that. I was right...
I was in the same situation for Skyward Sword this weekend (In the UK). Amazon sold out and the only way I could buy it was on e-Bay for nearly £100 ... then luckily I found it for half that through the company that used to be Virgin Megastore ... Winning!
I love this game. I bought this and Ocarina with my 3DSxl and was thoroughly satisfied. I can understand about Sunshine...you're a janitor...but the game had its fun moments. I never bought a Wii so I missed the Galaxy games, but I hope to play them once I get a Wii U which I'll get once Smash Bros comes out. My favorite has to be 64 though. That game was by no means perfect, but it was just fun, deep, and very creative.
Got the game two weeks ago, just fully completely it today, got all the Star Coins, completed every level. Made me sad, Jeremy was right about the game's length. But that still doesn't mean this game isn't, Infact it's down right kickass. Probably the mostly engaged I've been in my 3DS since LoZ:OoT 3D
My favorite Mario games- and my favorite games of all time- is a tie between Super Mario World and Paper Mario and the Thousand-Year Door. Amazing games that I can pick up and play and fully enjoy every time. (I'm actually currently playing through the Thousand-Year Door for the 7th or 8th time)
The galaxy games and the DS version! They are actually the only ones I played but they were awesome! I wish I had played the old ones when I was a kid...
I have the game but I just refuse to play (and other handheld games) more than 3-4 levels unless I am on a plane or waiting on line somewhere, I would rather play console games when I am at home. I am only on stage 2 but I love it so far.
I remember when i use to play games and i got stuck. whether its a puzzle or a boss, there was a point that i just gave up. time & time again i died, worse still when you almost solved/killed something and then you die or fail and then you just don't get back there again, EVER. few months down the track... do it in one hit. Looking back I do prefer that. Makes ppl more calculating when you get back to it and its more satisfying. Don't cheapen it by making it easier cause you died too many times.
A lot of people don't like sunshine because it was VEEEEEEERY different from the previous main Mario game in the series(SM64). The new water-gadget on Mario's back was a bit jarring for old-school gamers. That is also the reason they focused on environmental changes in later games rather than giving Mario permanent power-ups. I personally LOVED sunshine and had an amazing childhood with it. I also loved the fact that the whole game had a more cinematic experience than previous Mario games. :)
Fav SM game, Super Mario 64, huge improvement on the old NES titles, now I really want to get this game, so far I only have DOA Dimensions and Zelda for my 3DS, as for your story about Skyward Sword, sucks that happened but at least you got the game, great review as always
Gotta love all the core Mario games, but if I had to choose a favorite I'd go with Super Mario World. It's the first game I ever played to completion and It's still perfect nearly two decades later. Special Mentions got to SMB3, SM64, NSMBW, SMG, SMG2 and, of course, SM3DL. All stellar!
Super Mario Brothers 3. It is so relentless, I find it the most difficult Mario game I've played. But thats why It's awesome. And I love the flat 2-D, 8-bitness.
The original super mario bros! Theres just that damn level on world5 with the hammer bros that took forever to beat so thatgame was also one of the hardest, what made it awesome
Sometimes you just can't get past a level. You simply can't. Which is why I like it when if you've died a certain amout of times it lets you skip it. It doesn't happen alot where you just can not pass a level but it does happen once every few years to me. Luckily up to this point my sister lived at home and was better at some types of games than me (strategy, puzzle and shooters mostly) so if I wcouldn't do it then she could. But she moved out so we will see.
Super Mario World. That game is pure nostalgia and joy whenever I see the game that invented my favorite Mario character in Yoshi. The best Mario game.
why does sunshine get so much hate I freaking love that game
Tell me about it...Sunshine is my favorite one...
sunshine is one of the best Mario games 64 is better by a little
+CharlesRay Is there any huge differences between Mario 64 old and the DS version
@@naughtydog117 nah sunshine is better
nah man that water gadget ruined sunshine for me WAAAAAY overused shit got annoying lemme be mario bro
Woah woah woah, did you just bash Sunshine??
Super Mario Sunshine is awesome!
i still can't believe you still haven't review Super Mario 3d World
theres two of them?
+Darkshard160 Yep. There's one on the 3DS (this one) and there's a sequel on the Wii U. It's SOOO good. Amazing graphics, music and gameplay. Oh...and it has 12 worlds, with each getting progressively harder. The twelfth world is basically like the Special World 8-Crown from 3D Land, but instead, it's World Crown, which has three insanely difficult stages.
My favorite is sunshine. I got it on my birthday in febuary 2003 and I still play it to this day.
When i saw that you hate Sunshine I said: "I officially hate you"
I said " I officially LOVE you"
oz pardo
Yep. Love.
RiC David i'm a homophobe so don't say i'm gay
Yeah I love it! People don't like it because it's different and that's just stupid!
Sugar Lion I know. I watched the whole video. But with a condescending glare the whole time...
*Sunshine is briefly mentioned*
99% of comments: sUnShINe!
Lol
Jeremy, do you have a Wii U? can you review the Super Mario 3D World? :D
Sunshine is the best game ever created! What why hate :(
I loved that game as a kid and still do! It took me forever to beat it I mean YEARS! It was one of the two games we first got for our game cube
I was so happy then :)
wtf is wrong with sunshine? almost as good as galaxy
I thought it was better!
Maybe Jeremy should review Sunshine?
Sunshine will always be my personal favorite.
I've never played sunshine but its my friends favorite.
I never played sunshine but I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars trying to get it but I do love galaxy
Voice acting and the inclusion of FLUDD may have been an issue....ESPECIALLY the final boss.
Huh? How dare you insult Super Mario Sunshine. Now THAT'S a challenging Mario game unlike the ones that are out today.
3d land is actually quite hard after the first 8 worlds
I would like to mention if you haven't found the coin yet, One of the hardest one I've come across is looking through the Binoculars at one of the Toads.
There was also one at the very end of the level (By the flag) Where you actually have to break one of the Blocks at the end of the level to enter a secret room.
Some of the Coins had me scratching my head too!
Super mario sunshine was one of the best mario games EVER
@shadowspider9 Checked. They didn't have them. At least not where I live.
Sunshine was good
The old Super Mario game for the NES I played it as a child and I still have the console and 2 editions of the game at my house. It's a childhood reminer and I will never ever give that away
They always gotta hate on my childhood Mario Game. Why does no one appreciate Sunshine!?! Great review nonetheless
Glitches and Fludd is a bit gimmicky, I do not agree though.
I love sunshine and I was bought up first with super Mario world
Aaron Funes I think I might have been a bit unclear, but I did want to say that I really like Super Mario Sunshine.
Super Mario Bros 3 was my absolute favourite Super Mario game by far. Difficult in parts but such fun to play.
Sunshine its a master piece
One of my favorite parts of this game is the Bowser boss fights, there actually a cool throwback to the original.
Super Mario FUCKING Galaxy!!!
the last coin is hiding in the end of the level where the flag is, there are some blocks in the wall destroyed .
Super Mario Galaxy.
That was one of the best reviews I " red " in years !
AWESOME Job there man !
And good luck on finding the golden Wii remote .It really rocks.
you need to play 3D World. It's infinitely better than 3D Land.
I would play it if I had a wii u, it certainly looks better
ya no
3D Land is a masterpiece
3D World is a masterpiece X2 ya I see your point
But 3D Land is an amazing platformer but 3D World expanded
I honestly don't know why, but I prefer 3D land.
ikr
I personally prefer 3D Land, but I don’t really know why. They’re both practically the same game, and 3D World does have some better elements, but there’s just something about the post game of 3D Land that I find to be better.
@BassRaven Nice one!
Man! Sunshine was Awesome! btw Super mario 3d world Wiiu its just love
Sunshine is my favorite game of all time. SO under appreciated.
the one you can't find is on world 3-4 right? Wait near the end of the level for a flying block to pass by jump on it without hitting it and it will fly you to the star medal. im not good at describing stuff, so you should just look it up.
Could you do something like once a week you take requests, and then you pick from the cluster of movies we request for you to review?
Have you unlock the secret level when you get all the gold flags after defeating all the other levels with mario and luigi? Its in the special 8th world where the pipe is
@JeremyJahns agree with everything you say btw one of the developers travels by train and said that it would be great if he had a small level he could beat and not be like in the middle of it and have to stop because he was eating or something like that so he decided to make small levels. yeah it makes the first worlds easy, thats why they included the special ones. the maximum lives you can get are 1,110 . The invincibility tanooki leaf isn't mandatory it's there when you feel like using it
Super Mario Bros. 3! My dad started teaching me games when I was like... 2, so... It's been over 21 years that I've loved that game.

You should have gone to fry's electronics. I went there only a few days ago and they had a bunch of golden wii-mote zelda bundle's in stock.
Well, the thing about Mario games is, everyone's favorite is the one that is most nostalgic to them. I have huge amounts of nostalgia with Mario 64 and many other 64 titles. I likes Sunshine myself. I think the sunny atmosphere is a big contributor to that.
That being said, I'm the 1%
But do review the game please. It is undoubtedly the best The Legend Of Zelda game as of now.
What are you trying to imply with that picture of Super Mario Sunshine?
super mario deluxe--game boy color
and nintendo world in nyc still has the skyward sword bundle btw
Super Mario Galaxy/ Super Mario World BOTH for their respective dimensions. Galaxy was perfection and World for its nostalgia value. Seriously its like one of the first games I played. That theme is STILL stuck in my head.

Can you review the Super Mario series?
Oh and Super Mario Galaxy 2 is my favorite Mario game, followed by Super Mario 64.
You didn't though that they could only hold your copy for like 2 days? when I reserved this year I though they might have a time limit for that. I was right...
the one with the Yoshi on the box?? I don't remember the title I was sooo young... I'm a Zelda kid.
I was in the same situation for Skyward Sword this weekend (In the UK). Amazon sold out and the only way I could buy it was on e-Bay for nearly £100 ... then luckily I found it for half that through the company that used to be Virgin Megastore ... Winning!
You actually get the invincible suit in a lot of levels not just the final one. But yeah I was pissed too when I saw it.
@JeremyJahns You didn't like Sunshine? Personally I loved it. What didn't you like about it? I'm curious.
But are the other levels completely new or just a harder version of the main game?
I love this game. I bought this and Ocarina with my 3DSxl and was thoroughly satisfied. I can understand about Sunshine...you're a janitor...but the game had its fun moments. I never bought a Wii so I missed the Galaxy games, but I hope to play them once I get a Wii U which I'll get once Smash Bros comes out. My favorite has to be 64 though. Actually, the invinsible Tanooki suit is available in all levels, not just in the last battle.
Man, that sucks. I just got Skyward Sword with the controller at Target for only $48.88. It was on clearance for some reason.
Jeremy, if you have Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, what did you think of it?
My personal favorite Mario game is Super Mario 64, since it was the first Mario game I played, and one of my favorite games of all time.
My favorite Mario games- and my favorite games of all time- is a tie between Super Mario World and Paper Mario and the Thousand-Year Door. Amazing games that I can pick up and play and fully enjoy every time. (I'm actually currently playing through the Thousand-Year Door for the 7th or 8th time)
Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars (:
Loved to play with Bowser!
Sunshine is awesome and my first 3D Mario game and Mario game in general so I have a place in my heart for the game
The galaxy games and the DS version! They are actually the only ones I played but they were awesome! I wish I had played the old ones when I was a kid...
super mario 64/ super mario world
those games were my childhood
My favorite is Super Mario Bros 3. I really wish they would release it as a 3D Classic on the eShop.
Super Mario Galaxy, Paper Mario Series, Super Mario Maker(Wii U)Mario Kart 8,Super Mario World, New Super Bros Wii! For me there all Awesometacular!
Jeremy, you should make up a rating system for games.
The kart racing one on the SNES
What its been a while lol
Me too. That and Luigis Mansion were my life when the Gamecube was alive.
Hey jeremy! you should review Hugo I hear it's a really good movie and I really wanna hear your opinion on it.
Super Mario World - Gameboy Advance.
It has a special place in my heart as the first and my favorite Mario game.
I've been waiting since May for a decent 3ds game to come out. Looks like it's time to dust off my aqua colored 3ds paper weight.
I still love playing 'Super Mario World' for the SNES.
Super Mario Galaxy. That is definitely the most fun i have ever had with a new game. Every stage was something new.
I'm sorry but you don't have taken the feather in the game it is more like its here and you can take, but you don't have too.
Jeremy.....I have the same problem! My parents are looking for it for Christmas and we can't find it anywhere! D:
sorry bout the gold remote dude hope you find one
Fav SM game, Super Mario 64, huge improvement on the old NES titles, now I really want to get this game, so far I only have DOA Dimensions and Zelda for my 3DS, as for your story about Skyward Sword, sucks that happened but at least you got the game, great review as always
Can anyone tell me where's the 3rd star coin in W2-2? I think that's what Jeremy is struggling with, too...
Just bought this yesterday. So worth it.
I could do without the super Tanooki suit but it's easy enough to avoid if I just...don't hit the block. lol
Only one Mario game I have ever played, but fell love into it,
Super Mario Bros. For NES
jeremy, why dont you review the yugioh abriged movie: bonds beyond time? just for fun?
Super Mario World. That game is pure nostalgia and joy whenever I see the game that invented my favorite Mario character in Yoshi. The best Mario game.
Dude! You don't have to use the invincibility suit if you don't want to. I do! I sucked at a couple of levels.
Honestly, my favorite was Mario Sunshine, simply because it still had all Mario controls, it just had something extra.
is there any doubt? Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Game Boy Colour. Classic stuff
I haven't played that many Mario games but from what I have Super Mario World would be my favorite.
