I'll admit, I really like this game for reasons people don't like it. It's easy so I can just pick it up whenever I want and play calmly without getting frustrated
I agree. When I play the Wii version, I always get stuck on a level and end up throwing my Wii remote. Then, I change the disk, and just play just dance. It calms me down.
I like the game, I think it's main problem is that it's has too much recycled from the Wii one. I'm not talking about gameplay or level design, those are both perfect, I'm talking about how the game looks and the music. The Wii one was amazing, but having the same exact look and music made NSMB2 feel a little less unique, still fun though.
I never really got in to it.... Probably because I never tried to get all the star coins which kind of took away the experience so now I always go for star coins because it makes my gaming experience 20 times better
me and my brother used to play on the wii version so much. it was a lot of fun. It was always funny when he raged and he used to kick me out of the game. Sometimes, my cousin would come over and bring his wii remote so we can play 3 player.
If you were to ask me, despite the lack of originality, I think the NSMB series is really good, with my favorite being 2, the original being a close second, and both console versions being another close last place for me. I'd even go as far as to say that it houses some of the funnest gameplay of any 2D platformer, making them housed as some of my favorite games in general, surprisingly.
I've played the game for months and got 5 stars on all 3 files, but I only have approx. 260,000 coins. It's taking me ages to reach the 1-mil target, never mind maxing out the counter at 9,999,999 coins. I think some of the DLC packs might help me reach those goals faster, but I can't figure out how to get 'em.
I could say this game is better than the first ds version, but even though there is co-op play, there should've been four players in that mode, so that makes this game better than the ds version, not the wii though... But I completed the game.
NSMB 2 is actually very different from the games before it. Watch SilokHawk’s review on it. The level design is very specifically designed and the graphics are more colorful than the other games and the coins make it fun to go through the levels.
I don't think so. Collecting coins doesn't make it more fun at all. And saying it's very different is exaggerating a lot. The game has slightly different things, but the rest is the exact same than before
Personally I enjoyed the very first NSMB for the DS the most out of all of them. I thought the level design in that game was fantastic. They were fun, challenging, and rewarding. The bosses in the game were meh, but were still sort of hard. I will agree that the new power-ups in that game were nothing special. The music in NSMB was very upbeat and cheerful, and would easily get stuck in your head. With this game I was EXTREMELY disappointed when I heard the music in this game. I was hoping for an awesome upbeat original soundtrack, with news tunes to sing along to, but I only got slightly modified versions of all the songs from NSMBWii. I wish the game was more challenging, and I personally thought the level design was extremely stale and boring. However, I do like that this game is easy to just pick up and play. I also enjoyed the new power-ups in this game a lot. The gold flower is a blast to use, and the raccoon tail is fun to fly around with. I will agree that this game is more charming than previous installments, but I still like the first NSMB better. I like and dislike all the NSMB games for different reasons. This is just my personal opinion, and no one has to agree with me. I just wanted to throw my two cents in. :)
I really like this game, I don't find it to be overly easy, its fairly straightforward but I kind of like that, don't have to think too much about it, just pick up and play... really get a classic Mario vibe from the game, just with updated graphics and 3D... does a game really need to make "awesome use" of the 3d function to be good? sometimes it's just there to look nice and pretty, which is really just fine in my opinion. after all this is a 2D platforming game, in the vein of classic Mario titles... 3D Land is there if you want the use of 3D function in your gameplay mechanics. IMO, unnecessary for this type of Mario game. I really sort of love it.
Great review, GameXplain. I really love how you focus on the positives and negatives of a game instead of only a number score. It's great to hear the level design's up there with SMB3 and SMW because those are my two favorite games in the series. I think I can get past the similar visuals and music. Keep up the great reviews!
Also, I don't mind difficulty being easy. I can go through the original Super Mario Bros. by only losing 3 lives, without any warp zones - it's actually one of the easier Mario games for me, once you get past the crazy momentum physics. SMB3 and SMW, I can make it through with relatively few deaths. But I'm still having trouble with NSMBWii on a lot of levels. I don't think it's the games getting much easier, but just us getting better at them ;)
Well I bought New Super Mario Bros. 2 for my Nintendo 2DS, just a few days ago, and I got to say I have been having a blast playing it. It is a lot of fun, right now I am on World 6 I can’t wait to beat it.
My opinion: New Super Mario Bros: Well, I liked it. I played it for hours and kept replaying the levels New Super Mario Bros Wii: The map really is amazing. The power ups are also great! But for some reason I only like playing the game with a friend New Super Mario Bros 2: This game is on a handheld (just like the 1st one actually), so that's already good. I love the music, even though it is almost the same, the little changes made the music much better. I do agree that the game is pretty easy, but you should just get all of the star coins. I wish they didn't add the "Invincible" Raccoon mario power up, because it makes the game much easier and I think you should just ignore it, because you didn't really complete that level if you used it. I also like the idea of having coins everywhere. This one is the best one of the ones I have played. This game is totally worth buying! I haven't played the other versions (yet)
I love how you have strong opinions about about every game and take them to onto a video to be a review. This review helped me A LOT more to decide if i should buy this game or not, instead of the others who worry about their feedback instead of fully expressing their thoughts about a game that would help people out. So thank you very much :)
calm down bro he did a great review, pointing the good and bad points related to this game, and actually his review just sold me 100% to the game, cant wait :D
New super mario bros for the ds was in my opinion, the 2nd best mario game. Why? It was really simple, and challenging at the same time. The creativity really shined. I do admit it's not like the original but that's what I like about it. I especially love the world 2 stages, especially the one where you must shoot a piranha plant out of its tube with an air pump. It was so fun to me! The bosses where amazing. I loved the idea for a boss for every castle. And sure bowser jr was in every mini tower, but he was challenging at times. The world's where fun, and level designs were outstanding! Than new super mario bros 2... sigh. The level design when back at least 50 steps than the original for the DS. Not creativity except for boo houses where visible. Hell, they replaced those fun secret world's with gay mushroom and flower world. And it's not a challenge to get to them. In the ds, you must beat every other world boss with a MINI MUSHROOM. that was so challenging and fun. Not with the shit load of lives, just jump in a cannon and your there. And every fricken castle had a koopaling that brings NOTHING NEW ! And the mini towers have these EXTREMELY simple dinos from super mario world. The game it's self Is just boring. And coin rush is super simple. Their are time boosters and coins everywhere. You don't even have to rush, in coin rush! The only good stages that can even think of challenging the original ds version was the DLC courses. The boss battle for bowser was the only good battle. And it was easy too! Million coins? I wipe my ass with that. It's not challenging just, time consuming. And the reword is [Didn't spoil it for you]. New super mario bros ds featured funny moments like the piranha plant pipe thing. The last world was simply amazing! But new super mario bros 2 has those terrible, misrable courses that suck.
I actually agree. The first one on DS was awesome! The levels were great and the bosses were cool and interesting. And the multiplayer was SO FUN! Mario VS Luigi and the mini games were absolutely amazing. And then the 3ds one comes along. *sigh* there's no creativity. Everything is recycled. It's dull. And the multiplayer sucks! I'm really disappointed with NSMB2. NSMB1 is the best in the series! (And the Wii one is awesome too)
GameXplain.. You got me all excited in the first few videos wheree you were playing World 1 and 2.. But this video, you brought me down.. It's okay, I still love you guys. You were just being honest.. Thank you!! 3
People complaining about stuff being recycled or re-used sound like a bunch of cry babies but yet you'll play smash bros or Mario kart in a heartbeat and those games they recycle characters , levels , even music.
Here's what we have to remember about gaming and life in general. To get the full enjoyment out of gaming and life we need to realize what is written below. If we don't realize this simple fact we are going to continue to be disappointed by new games and new experiences especially sequels/remakes to old games and movies we used to love. We have for lack of a better term "grown up". What I mean by that when we were playing back in 80's and 90's we are now 20 to 30 years older. Think about how much has changed for you in 20 to 30 years. Marriage, jobs/careers, and children these are just some of the changes that some of you likely went through in the last 12 years. And let's face it those experiences (for better or worse) change us. It's like that old saying "you can't go home again". Meaning it's nice to have the memories of classic Mario or classic Sonic but that's all it's good for is memories. Even if we could do a full remake of the SMW it LIKELY still feel like an empty hollow experience because our interests and indeed our lives have changed so much. The friends and family we used to play and enjoy games with have had changes to. Disease, death, divorce and other negative experiences have also likely happened in 20 to 30 years and yes even subconsciously it is still there when we try to recapture the good old days. So you maybe asking what can you do about this? Well the only thing you can do is live in the present. You can focus on making new memories. Memories that are just as good if not better than the old ones. You need to stop living in the past because again "you can't go home again". All you can do is live each day to fullest and in the present. Cherish the old memories keep them close but realize that's all the are is MEMORIES. My comment went on way longer than even I intended but I feel it had to be said. I hope this has at least made some of you think. Also I'm not trying to be a cloud of doom or anything. All I am saying is you have to quit living in the past and live in present. Quit trying to recapture the old days and start making new memories in the present. Good memories are one of the best treasures we humans have but don't let them overtake the present. Don't let them keep from living your life and making new even better memories in the present.
matthatter56 This is so true. Only recently did I realize that. I play games with my dad sometimes, and the only games he will play are the old ones like Super Mario World, which isn't a bad thing at all. But when we are playing he always talks about how him and my brother used to play it and how much fun they had. I want to create new memories that we can look back on, but I tried to get him to play a game he hasn't played before (Yoshi's Island) and he said it looked too complex or something and wouldn't even try it.
i'm gonna be totally honest- i completely agree with you about the NSMB games' art style. i found that NSMBWii's graphics seemed very dull, and didn't make me feel like i was in a real place (i.e sonic 4 episode 1). but judging by what i've seen of NSMB2, it looks much more colorful and lively, and i think it looks great. the "happy" feel you mentioned seems to really be a huge part of the game's art style, and i love it. anyway, great review!
I would've bought this game if it wasn't for the fact that it has no mario vs luigi. Like...seriously nintendo wtf? It was one of the best things about the ds one and I still that mode with my friends.
Yeah! And they should've added those mini games too! I LOVED playing those when I was bored of the main game. And Mario VS Luigi is the most fun I've ever had playing with friends
1:21 "I don't think I even heard a single new song in any of the levels." 4:38 "This game probably makes the worst use of the 3D screen of any Nintendo made game I've played." My thoughts exactly.
...Are we reading the same comment, or did he not even mention the fact this game's on a handheld, and is just critisizing how samey the game looks to past ones? Jesus Christ, let the man have an opinion.
I beat this game so many times when it came out and then sold my cartridge. I want to play it again someday. It has a special place in my gaming history.
To make the game more harder they should've limited the item blocks in the various levels such as castle levels and making 1-ups harder to acquire. Plus having those annoying world enemies that follow you and bump into you to later then battle them like from the Wii.
You forgot about the X-Nauts and Count Bleck. Of course, they never came back either. I did make thirty of my own villains for the Mario series. Do you...want to read about them?
Thanks for leaving your original comment! I know Mario games can't really be "spoiled" per se but I had heard that the final boss was awesome and I wanted to see it for myself. Thank goodness for reading comments while the video buffers. .-.
IKR? I guess liddle bwabie gamers these days just can't handle the difficulty of the old platformers. I did have to question why the lives system was in this one though. It's a lot of fun, but as you say at this level of easy, it's really more just eploring and having fun with the levels than an actual challenge, so just take the power ups out and don't draw attention to it lol
Nice review. Getting a 3DSXL tomorrow, and wanted a AAA Mario game. Couldn't decide on Mario 3D Land or this. Since 3D Land actually utilizes the 3D, i'll go with that. This game doesn't look bad, but the "been-there-done-that" feeling makes me feel like I can wait a few months before picking it up, because I still enjoy the "new" series somewhat.
In my opinion, New Super Mario Bros Wii was fantastic, New Super Mario Bros was great, New Super Mario Bros U was good, New Super Luigi U was fair, and New Super Mario Bros 2 was meh. I find 2 to be the worst by far in the series.
How come you didn't like New Super Mario Bros. U as much as New Super Mario Bros. Wii? I have a TON of nostalgia for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but New Super Mario Bros. U is better in almost everyway.
How come you didn't like New Super Mario Bros. U as much as New Super Mario Bros. Wii? I have a TON of nostalgia for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but New Super Mario Bros. U is better in almost everyway.
Thanks for spoiling the final boss to anyone who played Super Mario World, you know, the most well known and best game in the entire franchise. Maybe instead of just trying to blur the obvious image (don't wanna spoil anyone who doesn't know yet), you should have put spoiler annotations and time stamps to skip ahead.
although quite easy, and a short game, i'd pop that game in ANYDAY the 3D effect is amazing and all the levels are insanely fun to play through, it truly shows what the console is capable of
How could I ever give this video a thumbs up. This game is horrible it's just the same shit but worse. Nintendo is really pushing it with the same enemies same music same powerups (except the gold one but that one really doesn't do much) same nearly everything. I thought the director had to have a creative vision not have the ability to copy paste games.
I think the only new tracks were the mushroom and flower world themes. I also feel like a big part of the reason that the original Mario games were harder was because of the limited controls such as no wall jumping, tougher shell grabbing in Mario 3 and no ground pound.
I heard, "The game was really boring and bland and can be beat through in no time. Still I gotta give it 4/5 stars." Because it's game explain and no matter how much Nintendo screws up they'll never get less than 4/5.
Although this game will keep me busy for a while when it comes, I can't wait for New Super Mario Bros. U. I was born in the late 90's, so I haven't really experienced the classic mario games, but NSMBU looks reminiscent of them, paticularly Super Mario World. I bet it's going to be filled with charm.
Awesome Review Guys! You're Reviews And Info Videos And Whatnot Are Usually Right. I'll Pick this One Up With Sonic Generations 3DS on My Birthday, August 19th~
Also, Have You Guys Noticed How Much Love Luigi Has Been Getting Lately? He Has More Screen Time In this Game's Intro than Mario, And Is Playable Solo. He's Also getting His Own Game This Year. I'm Pretty Happy About This Because I Think Luigi Deserves More Respect~
I recently bought a 3DS and played through NSMB2, and I absolutely love it because I had been replaying the first one for like 5 years. To me it's just like an extension, so it's 17 worls instead of only 8 in the first one. Plus I love Raccoon Mario and Fox Luigi!
I say yea. Even though it doesnt look like it, It's a vast improvement to the series. The level design is the best yet and the coin collecting is addicting.
Ok, I never grew up with the NES (I was a Mega Drive and SNES kid) and my first experience with the classic super Mario bros games was when I entered college (high school for all you Americans). Which is why I think the hatred against the New Super Mario Bros series is completely unjustified! Look, I've played all the 2d Mario games, and with the exception of Super Mario World, I believe that the New series is superior. There I said it. Everywhere I go I see people bashing the new games for 'not feeling like the new ones', which makes me really think that people need to take off the nostalgia goggles and judge these games fairly. Super Mario Bros was fun, but nowadays, it just seems to be soulless compared to other games (my opinion). Its American sequel was fun, but still didn't quite meet the standards of the traditional sidescrollers. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON LOST LEVELS! With Super Mario Bros 3, the comparison is much less slanted, but I still think that the new ones win out none the less, mainly due to one reason, the extremely schizophrenic difficulty spikes (though I would say I prefer it over New Super Mario Bros 2, and it does come very close to the others). That being said, I think Super Mario World is an amazing game, and probably my favourite 2d Mario game and my second favourite overall. But the new games have their own charm as well. New Super Mario Bros just explodes with creativity and feels different enough from the old ones to feel like a 'new' experience. Wii benefits from all the things you touched on, and yes, whilst this game is CERTAINLY the weakest new Mario game for multiple reasons, I'd still rather play it than play BOTH Mario 2's. As for NSMBU, it's probably my favourite of the new franchise, just behind World. And before you bombard me with hate, I played most of these these games within the space of a year (NSMB, NSMB Wii, SMB, SMB2, Lost levels, SMB3 and SMW all in 2009), and I STILL consider the new series superior. Whilst the old games have a charm of their own, I think people really need t judge the new ones on their own merits and not through blunt nostalgia. Which is why I think the Sonic fan base need to give Sonic 4 a fair chance! (seriously guys, though it wasn't as good as the genesis titles, it was still pretty good).
Very fair and honest review.. Those are pretty hard to find these days.. (BASHING EVERYWHERE!) Even I myself am always biased in favor of the Mario series in general. (For instance, the simplicity of the original NSMB I like simply because it reminds me of the simplicity of Mario 3's NES graphics.Yeah it's a long reach, but that's just how I think. XD) This is pretty much what I expected from the game, a fun title with a addictive collecting idea to whet our whistle until NSMBU. I'm ok with that!
I had only ever played the original mario. So I loved this. I picked up the 2as combo and was so entertained by this. And the replays felt so unique. I give it 9.5 out of 10
Awesome review, like always. I've always appreciated your view on games. Right up there with Classic Game Room. c: However, I must ask. Why is the video quality lacking? Lol. No offense, of course. I simply notice all of your 3DS reviews always have excellent quality. I'm curious, is all.
gamexplain i have a few questions and plz plz answer them. 1.can u buy the 3ds capture card 2. can u make a video of what it looks like if u can plz 3. how did u get the game so early! 4. u should have as much subcribers as woodysgamertag! :D 5. keep up the AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!!!
I was quite shocked when I read the review on the Official Nintendo Magazine website, but I actually do agree with them. Everything about this game is familiar. The music is familiar, the bosses are familiar, the power ups are familiar. The only thing different which I found quite interesting is the coin rush mode. Having to reach a million seemed impossible at first, but with the amount of coins packed into this game, I thought wrong.
I'm not talking about differences. I'm talking about Mario visiting past locations of his older and new games. The point of Sonic Generations is to revisit and explore some of Sonic's story. It would be the same with Mario.
I went into this game expecting to be disappointed, or even insulted like I was with 3D Land. However,,, that wasn't the case. I had a TON of fun, and your review sums up my feelings for the game perfectly. In short, pleasantly surprised.
I agree. I guess SM64 DS had a few new things to see, but mainly it was just a repeat of the original (which it was kinda meant to be). Super Mario 3D Land had some of that feel, but it was just a 3D version of 2D platformers. Come on Nintendo, we want more 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy-like games!
I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo took a lot of steps to make the next NSMB game feel more fresh. I think it would be cool to bring back the playable cast from Super Mario 64 DS, being Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Wario, with the return of Power Flower, which gave each character a different ability in that game. In order to uncover certain secrets you would be required to use a certain character's Power Flower ability, giving you a reason to replay every level as each character. Or maybe you would have the option to switch between the four characters at any time while playing through the level, much like how you could in the 3DS version of Sonic Boom. And maybe the seven bosses from that SM64DS can also return as well. Overall the game would be a good throwback to Super Mario 64 DS, much like how Super Mario 3D Land was a throwback to Super Mario Bros. 3 with the Tanooki power-up, and how Super Mario 3D World was a throwback to Super Mario Bros. 2 with bringing back Peach and Toad as playable characters and every playable character retaining their differnt abilities from that game. And it would also help a lot if that game was a lot more visually interesting and diverse and featured a completely new soundtrack with orchestrated music. And with that would come more variety in the level design, possibly a level styled after Kirby's Epic Yan. I think all of this put together would make for a New Super Mario Bros. game that actually feels new.
good news, nintendo says that make ONE NSMB game per console/handheld. This means if Nintendo sticks to this we won't see a NSMB game for a few years, and hopefully Nintendo learns that people want 3D mario games, or NSMB games with alot of detail put into them (New music, detailed backgrounds, new powerups, and something that makes it feel different, hopefully we get this with NSMBU).
The WII one is the last one i played. However, id been interested in this one cuz i love the racoon, but i think im gonna skip this one, maybe get New U/Luigi U when i finally get a WIIU...
"The game is pretty bad."
"It's actually pretty good."
"The game is pretty bad."
"4 stars out of 5."
“I hate this game”
“It’s definitely the best one”
I really liked the first one on DS.
This one is kinda meh, but I like the return of Racoon Mario.
HMM if you want the return of hammer suit play NEWER DS
It returned in SM3DL
Is it bad this is my first Mario game?
I'll admit, I really like this game for reasons people don't like it. It's easy so I can just pick it up whenever I want and play calmly without getting frustrated
I agree.
When I play the Wii version, I always get stuck on a level and end up throwing my Wii remote.

+InvisibleBurger Then you're really bad. The Wii version is super easy...
Same with me.
It should have been 1000 coins for one life tbh.
The Johto12 So true!!!
You are taking it a bit too far! Maybe 500 yes! But 1000 is way too much 😂
You copied that from another youtuber
1,000 is too much. 250-500 is the way to go.
I don’t think lives even should be there. They’re useless. That’s something Wario ditched long ago
I loved the Wii version. Mostly because my dad and I spent HOURS playing it. The multiplayer is great.
MsClumsyAssassin yeah same me and my dad had tons of fun with the wii version
Me and my sis loved the game ❤️
me and my brother used to play on the wii version so much. it was a lot of fun. It was always funny when he raged and he used to kick me out of the game. Sometimes, my cousin would come over and bring his wii remote so we can play 3 player.
MsClumsyAssassin Me and two of my brothers played through it, so it and DS are the only ones I actually don't hate largely
same with me!
top 3 things I like about this game
play as luigi
coin gimmick
cannon levels
The coin gimmick sucks!
John Lamont that’s tough
@@mathusan hold l+r
complains the music is recycled then minutes later says it's infectious
Chris Stokes But it is.
its possible to be both
He gives goods and bands of both sides
If you were to ask me, despite the lack of originality, I think the NSMB series is really good, with my favorite being 2, the original being a close second, and both console versions being another close last place for me. I'd even go as far as to say that it houses some of the funnest gameplay of any 2D platformer, making them housed as some of my favorite games in general, surprisingly.
It is pretty sad when I can beat a Mario game in a week now. Not just beat it, but literally 100 percent it including the million coin challenge.
James Reid Well, to be honest, I just did the koopa jump glitch on world 3-4 in coin rush a bunch and got the million within a couple hours.
GravitySmashify Is there a video that demonstrates the trick?
James Reid Yeah, sorry it doesn't really explain it, but it is actually pretty easy New Super Mario Bros. 2 - 30,000 Coins In 2 Minutes
GravitySmashify Can the same trick be done in normal mode?
You think this game is easy? Try the impossible pack and nerve wrack pack.
I could say this game is better than the first ds version, but even though there is co-op play, there should've been four players in that mode, so that makes this game better than the ds version, not the wii though... But I completed the game.
Opinion respected, but I think the first game on DS is the best of the series, and 2 is the worst of the series.
The game has slightly different things, but the rest is the exact same than before
@@mep6302
He's slightly exaggerating, but his point on Silo still stands to me. Silo really made me appreciate NSMB 2.
I agree, but the Raccoon tail isn't new: it's been in Mario since SMB 3.
Even with bad comments I’m still going to play it. It’s one of those things where I’m bad at listening. And everyone’s opinions matter
This game was my life in 2012 for the last 2 weeks of summer vacation. :)
Should play it again!
No mention of coin rush? -_-
Also, I don't mind difficulty being easy. I don't think it's the games getting much easier, but just us getting better at them ;)
Hahah, I knew you would like the new touches to the music... wait we've had this conversation! So glad to see your review André! :)
Well I bought New Super Mario Bros. 2 for my Nintendo 2DS, just a few days ago, and I got to say I have been having a blast playing it. It is a lot of fun, right now I am on World 6 I can’t wait to beat it.
My opinion:
New Super Mario Bros: Well, I liked it. I played it for hours and kept replaying the levels
New Super Mario Bros Wii: The map really is amazing. The power ups are also great! But for some reason I only like playing the game with a friend
New Super Mario Bros 2: This game is on a handheld (just like the 1st one actually), so that's already good.
Super Mario Bros. 3 (Gold Edition)
Love this game
Men too
me too
I am definatly going to get this game! Thumbs up if you are too!
calm down bro he did a great review, pointing the good and bad points related to this game, and actually his review just sold me 100% to the game, cant wait :D
Anyone?
I actually agree. The first one on DS was awesome! The levels were great and the bosses were cool and interesting. And the multiplayer was SO FUN! Mario VS Luigi and the mini games were absolutely amazing. And then the 3ds one comes along. *sigh* there's no creativity. Everything is recycled. It's dull. And the multiplayer sucks! I'm really disappointed with NSMB2. NSMB1 is the best in the series! (And the Wii one is awesome too)
yesiamthebaker Somebody agrees! Thx man
Great minds think alike
yesiamthebaker lol
GameXplain.. You got me all excited in the first few videos wheree you were playing World 1 and 2.. But this video, you brought me down.. It's okay, I still love you guys. You were just being honest.. Thank you!! 3
People complaining about stuff being recycled or re-used sound like a bunch of cry babies but yet you'll play smash bros or Mario kart in a heartbeat and those games they recycle characters , levels , even music.
Thank you
Smash Bros and Mario Kart aren't recycled.
And they also add new substantial things, while this game doesn't.
I like new soup 2 music a lot more, it's just so upbeat, it makes me happy.
Holy shit I totally forgot about that I used to play that. I would always go to the ice level so I could kill a blue koopa and get the shell
+yesiamthebaker maybe a bit late, but yeah i remember the mini games being really fun and the main game too :P
1:21 "I don't think I even heard a single new song in any of the levels."
4:38 "This game probably makes the worst use of the 3D screen of any Nintendo made game I've played."
My thoughts exactly.
Everyone thinks this game is so bland, but I love it!
Same here
Yeah like it and the Wii version are my favorite
Oh the Luigi who goes back to grab those 2 coins is the perfect portrayal of me in any Mario game I play.
I honestly think this game is the worst in the nsmb series.
+Nox Xelor stop bashing it because its on a handheld
there's so much you can do with a handheld
plus it's like comparing the old atari to a ps4
...Are we reading the same comment, or did he not even mention the fact this game's on a handheld, and is just critisizing how samey the game looks to past ones? Jesus Christ, let the man have an opinion.
@@ItsCamaro3 same
I beat this game so many times when it came out and then sold my cartridge.
NSMBWii is better than NSMB2
Dionys84 yep
Yes.
NSMB2 has great gameplay and a good game overall. But NSMBW has one thing, chaotic multilayer.
AustenArts I don't think it has great gameplay. It's mediocre overall mainly because it's very repetitive
Dionys84
Yeah, true
Thanks for leaving your original comment! I know Mario games can't really be "spoiled" per se but I had heard that the final boss was awesome and I wanted to see it for myself. Thank goodness for reading comments while the video buffers. .-.
I agree with the reviewer. NSMB is too easy, short and soulless. I wish Nintendo would make a new Mario World
James Oren to be honest nsmbw (for me) was quite difficult, most of the stages being challenging which made if fun for me.
Pik Hik you forgot the "2"
James Oren No they aren't.
IntenseAtom33 exactly right
Super Ludwig Well thanks!
Demeech Wii had better level design in my opinion and the multiplayer was more hectic! But yes, this game is very nostalgic for me!
Don’t mind me, just reliving my childhood.
I am only 1 min into the game... he realizes these games are squeals right? Lol heaven forbid they have the same title theme
*Sequels
None of the 3D Mario games had the same title themes.
***** my bad, was prob typing on my phone lol
Luxray Machine k
Thanks for spoiling the final boss to anyone who played Super Mario World, you know, the most well known and best game in the entire franchise. Maybe instead of just trying to blur the obvious image (don't wanna spoil anyone who doesn't know yet), you should have put spoiler annotations and time stamps to skip ahead.
Every one the 3rd game should be called
New super Mario bros 3d
i bet the joke sounded better in your head
although quite easy, and a short game, i'd pop that game in ANYDAY
the 3D effect is amazing and all the levels are insanely fun to play through, it truly shows what the console is capable of
NSMBW > NSMBDS >>> NSMBU >>>>> NSMB2
4:05 2 coins i found em guys 100 cool points if you get the reference
How could I ever give this video a thumbs up. This game is horrible it's just the same shit but worse. Nintendo is really pushing it with the same enemies same music same powerups (except the gold one but that one really doesn't do much) same nearly everything.
I thought the director had to have a creative vision not have the ability to copy paste games.
2:18
That Koopa didn't dance to the music, he dance to his shell turning gold.
I think the only new tracks were the mushroom and flower world themes. I also feel like a big part of the reason that the original Mario games were harder was because of the limited controls such as no wall jumping, tougher shell grabbing in Mario 3 and no ground pound.
new super mario bros to me shows that even if it isn't original it can still be fun
He's a reviewer. Nintendo sends their games to him and other reviewers.
I heard, "The game was really boring and bland and can be beat through in no time. Still I gotta give it 4/5 stars." Because it's game explain and no matter how much Nintendo screws up they'll never get less than 4/5.
Paper Mario Sticker Star got a 2/5
Although this game will keep me busy for a while when it comes, I can't wait for New Super Mario Bros. U. I was born in the late 90's, so I haven't really experienced the classic mario games, but NSMBU looks reminiscent of them, paticularly Super Mario World. I bet it's going to be filled with charm.
When I was 7 I got nsmb 2 for Christmas, and I beat it in about a few hours
Awesome Review Guys! You're Reviews And Info Videos And Whatnot Are Usually Right. I'll Pick this One Up With Sonic Generations 3DS on My Birthday, August 19th~
Also, Have You Guys Noticed How Much Love Luigi Has Been Getting Lately? He Has More Screen Time In this Game's Intro than Mario, And Is Playable Solo. He's Also getting His Own Game This Year. I'm Pretty Happy About This Because I Think Luigi Deserves More Respect~
His awesome voice helps him to make it better.
I think you described my exact feelings of this series at the beginning of the video.
Who else thinks that the next Nintendo DS should have a rumble feature..I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't made one yet
They might not make another DS, since the Switch is portable.
The level design is the best yet and the coin collecting is addicting.
a.k.a., New Super Mario Bros. WITH COINS!
everytime I jump I wanna Twirl like in wii
Same...
I can't wait for this game, 2D-Jump'n'runs are still the best.
+Darksonic 67 Total word wall and needs less text but you are correct
the NSMB series is being bashed all the time
Very fair and honest review..
Love your reviews man, good job as always.
I'm using your guide that's how I got luigi+ star world+ secret exits😇
My mistake, I'm so used to the Volcano level being World 8 that I forgot this game gives you 2 less worlds than all the others.
I had only ever played the original mario. So I loved this. I picked up the 2as combo and was so entertained by this. And the replays felt so unique. I give it 9.5 out of 10
Am I the only one who doesn’t dislike the Blue Shell from NSMB?! It’s such a fun powerup, especially in the ice stage for 2P!
That's good to hear. Thanks for the quick reply.
Awesome review, like always. I've always appreciated your view on games. Right up there with Classic Game Room. c:
However, I must ask. Why is the video quality lacking? Lol. No offense, of course. I simply notice all of your 3DS reviews always have excellent quality. I'm curious, is all.
gamexplain i have a few questions and plz plz answer them.
1.can u buy the 3ds capture card
2. can u make a video of what it looks like if u can plz
3. how did u get the game so early!
4. u should have as much subcribers as woodysgamertag! :D
5. keep up the AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE this game. It’s not as good as NSMBU, but this game was the centerpiece of my childhood.
I want the Mario 64 style back... All this candy-graphic 2D mario games are a slap in the face.
I still like this game. This was a fair review, bud. :)
no duh the game is easy if you dont collect everything, thats the point to mario games,to get 100% in it, not just simply run to the flag
Well, that SMW boss remix was pretty cool.
This game is better than any of the new shooters on the market. Sorry but no complaints here.
How about a 2D game that's nonlinear, kinda like Castlevania?
You didn't just make that jump, but now you're richer too.
good news, nintendo says that make ONE NSMB game per console/handheld.
Good review. Are the star coins harder to find than the other NSMB games and 3D Land or is it roughly the same difficulty?
I can't wait to do it when I get the game.
If you stopped watching at 0:10, how would you know that it was biased? GameXplain is very fair and this review was no different.
Correction (and spoilers): The mushroom, flower, and star worlds have new music.
The WII one is the last one i played. However, id been interested in this one cuz i love the racoon, but i think im gonna skip this one, maybe get New U/Luigi U when i finally get a WIIU...
I need to pick this up eventually... But really good review you've got yourself a new subscriber :P
