xeroflarexl Rumoured but I highly, highly HIGHLY doubt it
sorry to burst your bubble but bethesda knows how to time their games
as much as people want an elder scrolls: VI there would need to be more time in between them oblivion im pretty sure was released in 2006 then skyrim was released in 2011
and even though most don't like it the elder scrolls online is still recent so
from that I find it highly doubtful they might announce fallout 4 I haven't played any of the games but I'm pretty sure that will be the next thing they announce
personally I'm up for dishonored 2 but that's just me

I love Skyrim so much. The ONLY bad thing (in my opinion) is that if you play it everyday for like, 4 or 5 months, you then just stop enjoying it. Like, you just stop, I don't know what it is. But you play it for a long time, and then you never wanna play it again, no matter how good it is, or what DLC comes out. I played it for almost a full year, and now I refuse to ever play it again D:

      Did you fail?
Incidentally, Skyrim has many many great features, but in the end it's just too... lonely. I mean, there aren't any characters to get attached to. You can get a wife and kids even and they've each only got about 3 lines of dialogue. There are loads of good mods, but it's only rich in its scope, not in its depth. What would completely fix that would be multiplayer and overseer functions, so you could have private servers where soemone is setting up adventures on the fly like in Neverwinter Nights etc.

But the quest i remember from Oblivion, are usually the end quests in factions (and some others), where as many of the other quest are taking place in fort ruins, ayleid ruins, caves etc. which were all basically looking the same, and that dosen't encourage people to do those particular quests. Skyrim did a good job with providing quality dungeons and landmarks, all of them hand-crafted instead of copied. Here are some other points i forgot:
The removal of level-scaling. Be-whatever-you-want etc

10 years later, and Skyrim is still kicking thanks to the mod community. I love the quest mods you can get for this game, some of them are just as good, if not better then anything put in the vanilla game. For example The Forgotten City, just go play it lol, all I'm gonna say. Skyrim is a great game, but some things from the previous titles were taken away. I actually kinda prefer the class creation of old. Picking your skills, and signs, and playing a class. With Skyrim, you can literally be a god at everything, with no limits, and it just doesn't feel as special. Sure you could just play as what ever you want to be, and stick to that path, but creating a class was so charming. It gave a challenging aspect as well. Oblivion and Morrowind gave you limitations. You aren't good at everything, so you gotta work with what ever you created. Skyrims system does give you a lot of flexibility, and freedom, but I still prefer the old ways.

Oblivion and Skyrim- two of the most finest games ever made. I love them both so much, how different they are, the woods of Cyrodil and the mountains of Skyrim. Almost everything about these games is perfect (save the lockpicking in Oblivion. Yeah, better to do Nocturnal's shrine quest and get the Skeleton key or just level up your Alteration skill). Needless to say, both games are the most beautiful, well crafted and downright brilliant video games I've ever played.

Fully grown dragons, as far as I am aware, was first introduced in Redguard, which came out in 1998 and became the basis for how the dragons in Skyrim looked. To say they were inspired by nordic dragons seem a bit strange, when their appearance was set so long ago. And that they don't have the features you seem to think they need.

This one time I was off wandering the in wilds, as I am apt to do, and found a small mining settlement. Suddenly I hear the rush of wings above me and I summoned my flame magic. I was eager to gain another dragon's soul. But as I and the great beast did battle, one of my flame spells hit a bystander. A guard approached me with the intent of arresting me, despite our circumstances. As the guard spoke the dragon landed behind him, strode up to him, and ate him before my eyes.
    Real time is great.

Basic Skyrim is good, but where it shoots from 'Good' to 'OMFG' is with mods. Want a better looking character? Mods can make you anything from a victoria's secret model to a shapeshifting vampiric dragon. Want a cool sword? Yeah, got it covered. Bow too? Yep. Want your magic to be massively OP (But also massively awesome) No problem. Want to add realism to the game? How would you feel about freezing to death if you don't wear thick clothes and make camps? Or how about needing to go to the bathroom? What about pregnancy (Complete with menstrual cycle) and birth? Done and done. Want dragons to be like in GW2, and be frigging huge epic monsters of death with totally D&D coloring? Easy peasy.

Personally, I like to have my character by a “Jack-of-all-trades” type of warrior, wherein I mainly focus on levelling up the skills with One-Handed, Two-Handed, Heavy Armour, Archery, Shield, and Smithing, while also finding as many Health potions and items to help me when I’m in a rut. That’s just how I personally do things.
Also, quick way to level up your Smithing skill? Just keep making hundreds of Iron Daggers. You end up spending more money than what you earn, but it’s totally worth.

I learned pretty quickly; when I find a staff that does aoe magic, give it to my companion. For some odd reason, and I am thankful for it, when my companion does a fireball attack, and I'm caught in the blast, I don't get hurt. Now, the other way around, I've accidentally killed my companions once or twice before.

I can see where you come from on that. I enjoy Skyrim because I can feel like I'm a medieval warrior and all that, however those are pretty much the same problems I have with Fallout. Like I never knew how to explain how I didn't like Fallout, but you pretty much summed it up for me. I'm also gonna have to disagree with you on the soundtrack, because I really enjoy it but I understand what you're saying with everything else

    • @101Argenis
      @101Argenis 8 лет назад +1

I don't like it when people attack someone's opinion just because it's out there or unpopular. I find it admirable when someone comes up with an opinion on there own and strongly sticks to it instead of hoping on a bandwagon of opinions that everybody is a part of just so they can fit in. It's the worst when you have properly came to an opinion on your own and people start bashing on it because they don't share the same one as you. It's valuable to have an opinion that's different from others because it opens people's perspectives to different things, but sometimes people get so stubborn and worked up about something that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things and makes the situation more conflicting than it needs to be. I'm worried about the people who feel pressured to share the same opinion as others because they don't wanna get shunned for having one that's different, so they end up taking other people's opinions more into consideration than their own. That's not good. That's why I'm willing to agree to disagree, because it takes the things that is typically destructive and makes it much more constructive than it usually is.

This game is fucking immense. I've been playing it for about 150 hours & it just doesn't stop, soooo many side quests. It feels like I've barely scratched the surface of the story.
The only RPG I've played besides this is the Final Fantasy series, so my frame of reference is limited, but for those interested here's how they stack up.
The story & characters aren't cheesy, weird Japanese things. A definite thumbs up for that. Having said that, the characters that I've met don't feel developed at all. You don't form relationships & the NPCs that follow you around just feel like empty vessels.
The world & it's history on the other hand is overwhelmingly huge. There's so many books in this game. You could probably spend 100 hours just reading. I get the feeling that if you knew the franchise these would all be familiar call backs to previous games. As a newbie I have to admit I'm finding them a bit tedious.
One thing that sets this apart from any other game I've played are the very real consequences. You align yourself with various factions & the story develops in a very organic way depending on your choices. I've never seen this executed so well in any game ever. This isn't the black & white moral dilemmas of Fable, it's a real political struggle, that forces you to make hard decisions.
The growth system is brilliant! The forging, enchanting & alchemy are so in depth. It kicks the balls off any Final Fantasy title. However, once again the sheer volume of contraband I picked up was at first overwhelming. I had a dresser drawer stuffed full of about 2000 potions & chests filled with all sorts of armor. I couldn't carry 1% of it & none of the vendors had enough money to purchase it. I just forged weapons to level up & then dumped it all in the street. I've since learned to manage my supplies much more effectively though & I've actually found it quite rewarding learning the art of trade.
The world is totally open. The stories don't branch out, *they explode* in every direction. This, much like the smithing & alchemy, is overwhelming at first, but ultimately hugely rewarding. It feels so organic. Whilst I have some recognition of where the main plot is leading, it doesn't feel forced at all. The side quests are every bit as interesting as the key storyline. They're not just work on the side, they're totally integrated into the lore. A far cry from games like GTA & FF.
The graphics are fine, not incredible, but good enough. There are some irritations like the fact the weapon I'm carrying isn't actually strapped to my back, but is just suspended in the air behind me. Meh, I can live with it. I've also experienced some serious glitches with lighting effects that have really taken me out of the game.
There are bugs in this game. Full balled crashes occasionally, getting stuck in scenery, blah blah blah. They all suck. I'm playing on PS3 & I have to say. this generation of console is the worst for bugs & glitches ever. You didn't get nearly this much shit from PS1 or N64 games. The loading screens are also a drag.
The NPCs are all complete dicks. I'm very tempted to create a tangent save file just to go on a killing spree of every Nordic prick I've met. I wonder if it's possible to kill every citizen in Skyrim? Also, you don't even have to ask, you'll just walk past & they'll cough up some snide shit. I'm brandishing a Steel Battleaxe in one hand and fireball in the other & some cocky pedestrian will say "Aww let me guess? Somebody stole your sweet roll?" I swear I'm going to kick off next time someone says that.
That brings me to the next point. The generic script is *LAZY!* NPCs constantly repeat themselves, which is annoying, but worse they all say the same things. It feels like there's just 5 voice actors in the entire game & a collection of 20 or so phrases. You hear the same lines over & over again in different voices.
Finally on the topic of NPCs... *THEY NEVER FUCKING MOVE!!!*
The amount of times I've walked into a room & my NPC buddy has blocked the door is infuriating! Oh & a word of advice, if they're carrying half of your equipment *don't let them die in a random cave* because you'll have to salvage all your gear off them & crawl back to the nearest town at a snail's pace.
Speaking of caves, they all look the same. That goes for most of the scenery in fact. It's always miserable weather. Even when it's sunny, it's still miserable. It never feels refreshing.
The combat system isn't to my taste at all. It's a very basic hack & slash for the most part. You either bludgeon your enemies with a war hammer or run backwards whilst you spew flames at them. You spend a lot of time pausing the game & drinking potions. If you set your potions to the quick access menu you can't tell which is more potent or valuable. It just feels awkward. There's a bunch of spell tomes & magic scrolls to use, but I'm always reluctant to do so because they're finite & I never know if I'll see them again. As I mentioned earlier, my only point of reference is the FF series (1 to 12), but compared to any of those games it feels utterly stagnant and unimpressive. I'm not far through the campaign, but it doesn't feel like the combat will ever amount to anything like that of FF7,8,9 &10.
The soundtrack isn't very varied at all, thankfully what it has is good, very good. It has a lush classical score which captures the mood perfectly.
There's no question that this game is immersive as hell, but the mechanics of the combat hold it back. Skyrim creates a rich world that's steeped in history, but I don't feel for any of the characters. You can align yourself with different factions from imperials to rebels, thieves & mages, but you never feel emotionally attached to any cause. Skyrim feels like an RPG centered around growth & in that respect it's very well executed. I'm yet to feel rewarded though. I'm still wandering through caves, casting fireballs & waving an axe around like I was at the start. The only difference is now my attacks do 49 points of damage instead of just 4. If only it had a better combat system...
If you invest -a bit- a lot of time learning about the world & its lore (& you make it through the bewildering early stages) this game may well suck you in, in the way only massive RPGs can. You don't get the feeling of comradery that you get from Final Fantasy games & don't hold your breath for a summon that will turn the world inside out. It's all about character growth & game history. If you like leveling up characters & making them unique it's worth it just for that.
For all my criticisms, I still have to hammer home the point that this game is *huge!* The sheer volume of its content sets it apart from other games. It makes games like Arkham City look puny. It's like comparing VY Canis Majoris to Pluto. It may be a very flawed 1000 hours of gameplay but it's still *1000 hours of gameplay!*

If you are interested in mods, absolutely. But there are more benefits of the PC version than that, you can make copies of your safe games. In many cases, you can even use the cheat modul, to actually fix bugs. Dont get this wrong, I dont cheat in the normal game, but there is, for instance, a gate in a cave, which doesnt open anymore, after you finished a quest in it. But you will need to get through it for another quest later on, which would be impossible because of the bug, but not on PC.

David Alex No. Dragon bone was underwhelming for me. Plus, you can't die with the ebony sword fully powered as it steals enough health to keep you going. On top of that, it swings as fast as a one handed sword. And the cherry on the top is that if you pair that sword with the nightingale armor you look like the lovechild of Batman and Ezio auditore, with a little bit of darth vader in there.

    • @MorroWolf
      @MorroWolf 10 лет назад

Oh snap you're an idiot I see now. New Vegas was quality, great characters great story and though the combat wasnt fantastic it was way better than the combat in skyrim, you couldnt just chug potions and stand there unless you were wearing power armor which you dont get till way late and even then some enemies still hurt you so big deal, you actually get rewarded in new vegas for carefully considering how you approach and defeat your enemies something that skyrim doesnt require of any player. The melee combat in New Vegas even had more depth than skyrim's combat as there were special directional commands that give you different attacks that had different effects like knock downs etc. The vats also had special animations to keep things from being stale as all fuck. As well as most of the high end melee weapons actually doing cool shit like the ballistic fist. Skyrim was bland it was bad it was a utterly thoughtless experience, you dont think so because you have very little brain activity. Show some consistency? Demonstrate an ability to follow and make coherent arguments or better yet know what the fuck you are talking about before you open you dumb fucking mouth. Look at the actual mechanics of both New Vegas and Skyrim. Look at the actual components, story, characters, setting, etc. If it isnt apparent that skyrim is lacking in all areas then you are seriously lacking all your facaulties. "Chose to have a more flexible design" are you serious? Go back and play morrowind peasant you have not yet drunk fine wine. Skyrim is stiff as a hell.
Get out from under my horse, better yourself. Its cool that you think you like dark souls or are at least saying that as some pathetic attempt to pacify me but you clearly didnt get it, you clearly passed through it as polluted water through my horses urinary tract not truely experiencing it. Because if you had, you would never be able to defend such abominable shit as skyrim. You would never be able to look at the two and not see how one was so vastly inferior. Unless you mean Dark Souls II in which case go figure that game was also horse shit, thanks From Soft you blew it.

I dunno. You lose alot of the animation quality in 1st person, you dont reallysee stuff like grabbing the guy as you run him through with your sword then yank it out, do a 360 and cut his head off. anyway yeah I would totally reccomend 3rd person to anyone who hasnt tried it.

I'm talking ofc about the Stormcloack rebellion. This conflict between the Stormcloack, religious rebels vs The Empire. That part of the story can even be put up to debate, wich adds a a whole new layer to the game, makes it more thought-provoking and indepth. In Oblivion it was Good vs Evil, but in Skyrim you could make up your own mind, which is a star in my book.
I agree to some extent that quest were more memorable in Oblivion, but so were Morrowind. even more so than Oblivion.

What I liked in the game is that if you get bored of one skill you can play with another. I made a jack of all trades argonian my first play through and made armor that allowed me to use high level spells without using any magica and even enchanted weapons without the need for soul gems.

The armor glitch was by far the funnest to mess with. Wearing multiple pieces of enchanted armor was incredible. Made my bodyguard invulnerable and could one hit kill dragons. And sneak attacking dragons in one hit kills, seeing them fly up just to plummet into the ground, was very gratifying. Was trying to go for all suits in game worn all at once lol. Different ones were seen in 3rd person view, so it was a mix match of all armors coming through each other at once.

I spent many hours in Skyrim, probabley about 300+ hours on xbox360 and 400+ on PC, Steam Workshop has soo many cool mods that make the game just that little bit better.
Definatly worth it's money and a high recomendation(as long as you have plenty of spare time).

oh my god, you're soooo right, I just love this game so much ! Didn't create a mage for my main, but a badass thief conjurer with a sword, yes, you can do that in Skyrim, and it's awesome, and you're invincible, really, if you're smart :) Played a Dunmer too btw, I guess great minds think alike ^^

Steam Summer sale ends on July 5th. Should I get skyrim, doom 2016, assassins creed 4, or witcher 3?
