I used to attend conventions where Voltaire regularly performed. We need conventions back for 2021.
I would go see him every year at DragonCon in Atlanta pre-pandemic. So much fun

The mix of the violin and guitar is amazing. The whole song is beyond description.

I always thought it was a reference from the priest in Salem's Lot.
It may or may not be referring to a certain well known author and fangsmith who goes by the title of Father and is known for having a bunch of followers who go around claiming they are real life vampires. one of those 'if you know, you know' situations

Been listening to your music for some time, and thus as now my finances enabled, I decided I'd buy your albums I liked the most.
I did so, but couldn't find some of them over at CDbaby. Going through the link in this description, I discovered that for some reason, many of your albums are displayed as "album only" and have no option for "download" only buying a real cd copy.
Is there any particular reason why is it like so, or am I just dumb and can't find the digital download?

I really liked this song for a long while, and then I met the "tall and snide and slim" guy who led a group of pirates into a goth bar... I can't say he's anything "like a gay captain Morgan," at least he isn't now. But he is certainly an interesting individual with a colorful life.
I still like the song, but it definitely has a different feel to me now.

Passing references to Father Todd and Lord D'Drennan, among others. The latter is rather tasteless, considering his passing.
I looked it up, and he released this song 3 years before he passed. It might be a soft spot now, but Voltaire had no way of knowing what was to come. I didn't have the honor of knowing him personally, but from what I've heard, he was a wonderful man and artist.
