- Hi..I'm Korean in yeonchon country. My name is Lee Heechul.
This is performance in seoul,Sejong Cultural Hall at 2004. This place has perfect sound establishments, and Sound is so good. Maybe it is the best of the world.
This play is the one of the five plays, in exclude playing with Take Six..

Marcus is simply in a class by himself. Masterful!
It's amazing how Marcus comunicates to other insturments through his playing,just listen,no other bassplayer communicates to the band like Miller

I have been listening to several of the performances of this song. This is the first one I have viewed where the trumpeter does the first solo and not the saxophonist.
Everyone is right about Marcus oozing groove, but let's not forget that killer band! Poogie bell is one bad ass drummer!

마커스에겐 2004년 바로 서울공연이 있습니다.
이 공연에는 음향 엔지니어가 2명이나 대동되었다고 합니다.
국내에 베이시스트 이병걸씨는 공연도중 눈물을 흘렸다고 했으니
얼마나 감동적인 사운드를 연출했는지 알수있죠...
개인적으로는 Panther 라는 곡을 가장 좋아합니다.
특유의 리듬감은 독보적입니다. 또한 가장 스탠다드한 슬랩주법은
타의추종을 불허하죠.
음향 엔지니어 원래 2명 있어야 돼요 하우스 엔지니어라고 메인 스피커 소리 담당 한 명에
연주자들 모니터 조절하는 모니터 담당 한 명 그리고 스테이지 크루 등등 많은 사람이 음향을
맡습니다. 2010년 인가 SMV 내한 공연 때도 사운드 죽여 줬죠. 그렇게 깔끔하고 풍부한 베이스 소리는
태어나서 처음 들어봤음. 그 때 당시 저도 음향일 10년 이상 한 상태였지만 정말 사운드 최고 였음

One of my favorite bass players! Right there with Jaco, Larry Graham, Stanley Clarke, and Nathan East!!
bottom line is Marcus grooves like no other "period" which is what being a bass player is all about not the speedy technical skills and solos, its about how the bass player grooves in the background of the music with the rest of the instruments which is why so many bass players including well known professionals "try" and mimic is signature tone and style, Marcus may not be as fast or technical as victor wooten but Marcus is master of the groove is more a well rounded muscian and composer

the pickup cover? it was used more in the early stages of the fender bass, primarily as a form of shielding for the electronics. some early basses also had one over the bridge pickups as well that also contained a rubber mute to deaden the sound in an attempt to replicate that of the acoustic bass.
marcus likes to rest his palm on it when he slaps but i didnt like it so i took mine off.

i like his slaps and bass guitar. very nice for slapping. sounds nice and crisp. only thing, i don't like the the metal cover thing that covers the amp bar thingy. where you play the strings. it gets in the way. i tried his bass model. sound really nice

It is really a great concert, but I missed the audiences reaction . Next time please try to show us the audiences side also.

I disagree with everyone who says Wooten only plays fast, not music. He took what Jaco did and took it up to a new level, listen to Reminiscence by Wooten, if that isn't music, then you don't know what music is.
