Kinda blew past the lower RAM and many other non-upgrades/downgrades on the new S22 Ultra. The S-Pen may be a bit of a neat feature, but other than that, I'm not even convinced the S22 Ultra is an upgrade over the S20. I'm not convinced that the minor changes that have been made will even be remotely noticeable to the average user.
I dont think the average user is getting these phones though my guy. Take It from someone who sells phones for a living, most people are fine with a high end A series phone or an iPhone from 2 years ago. Only the people who want the high end phones get them, and at that point they either don't care about specs whatsoever or are super obsessed about them.
865 is still a beast. I have the s20u. Never see any slowdown even in power saving mode, and you have 16gb of ram. So app load super quick every time. I usually have 2 browsers with 100 tabs open each. Brave and internet browser and never have any issues opening or swapping back and forth. Still a boss phone. 😎
Right? The S20u was truly the last actual flagship phone from Samsung. The 21 and 22 have been step back or sideways, still can't compete with the sheer power of the 20.
@Telugu Travel World same here have the s20u and I hate the focus issues I can get great pics but close shots with many objects make it confused. I love s pen and have been wanting one for a long time as I have not had a note since note 5 but love the square frame. I am going to miss my s20 but capitalizing on the $500 trade in to get a newer and faster phone.
rigghhhttt!!! 865 is still a beast! the s22 ultra drains your battery! I upgraded to it, then went back to the s20 ultra! yes the s22 ultra has a lil updated features, but it drains the battery!
@@Dagamerjay9 the screen on the s22 ultra is so much better though. I own both the s20 ultra and the s22 ultra. The screen is more clear and brighter on the s22 ultra but I love the s20 ultra for the micro sd expansion and 16gb of ram
Was using a moderate phone for almost 7+ years with low storage and small display. When i switched to s20 ultra its make my daily mobile life more hassle free than ever. S20 Ultra is the benchmark for all this ultra series and its a beast.
I have owned Samsung Galaxy phones since they first came out and currently have the S20 Ultra. Although the S22 is obviously a step above the S20 the deal breaker for me is no SD card in the S22. It's obviously a marketing decision to force consumers to have to buy the more expensive model for the memory. So I will be holding on to my S20Ultra . If they don't put the SD card back in down the road ( which I doubt they will) my long time loyalty to the Samsung Galaxy will end and I will start looking at other phones.
Good luck, because they are all jumping ship. They get so big headed and start copying each other only to sell us "more ram" for hundreds of dollars even though we know these little memory chips don't really cost them 30 dollars.
S20 Ultra is still the best phone at the end of all this . I can explain all the reasons but that would be a huge review and I'm honestly too lazy to do that rightnow. Lol What do you guys personally think ? If you have never owned the S20 Ultra then I can see why you might also decide to go with the S22 Ultra rather than the S20 Ultra ...
Good video as always. Just a couple things; refresh rate on the S22 Ultra is 120Hz in WQHD wihile the Note 20 is only in FHQ. I see the S pen that you showed is white or a light color. All S pens are not black. Keep giving us quality videos, I love them
These all lies. I personally have first hand experience using both of these devices. S20 ultra is (overall and for the money) better device. No big improvements can be found for regular person. Battery life in just plain worse on S22 ultra. Screen scratches so easily that it is impossible to prevent it. Ergonomics are terrible on 22. I'm using pen only for taking photos, and rarely. Only my kid plays with it. S20 has better battery life and better signal reception which is never talked about in these videos. Also screen responsiveness to the touch is better on 20. WiFi reception is stronger on 20. Overall S20 has better chipset. S22 has newer chipset but it drains battery, heats up and difference is only visible at those rare times. Screen is not brighter in real life, it is only technically brighter in peak situations at some places.
I still got my S20 Ultra. I'm usually the guy the gets the new phone each year but call me crazy I Wana get 3-4 years before I get the new S Series. I was quickly realizing the yearly upgrades weren't enough to warrent a new device yearly anymore. Mine is still fast and the battery is decent( coming up on 2 years). I think I can easily get another 2 years out of it.
I appreciate your videos! Just pre-ordered the s22 ultra so I'll be looking forward to some tips and tricks video soon, hopefully. You're the best, thanks! 😁
HI Saki, could you make a similar analysis with the Galaxy Note 20 ultra vs S22 Ultra please? I want to know your opinion if it is worthy to upgrade it. Thanks
I only got the s22 ultra because I dropped my s20 u at work. I'm disappointed with the lack of an SD card, had 1tb in my s20u. Outside of that, they're pretty much the same phone in my practical everyday use. Not really worth the upgrade imo.
Right now, I have both the Galaxy S 22 ultra and the Galaxy S 20 ultra. And the picture quality of the galaxy S 22 ultra cannot match the picture quality of the Galaxy S 20 ultra! That may be due to the higher resolution of the Galaxy S 20 ultra! I just received the galaxy S 22 ultra, and I compared picture quality side-by-side with 4K video from RUclips named paradise island! The older galaxy S 20 blew the Galaxy S 22 out of the water for picture quality! They should have never reduced the resolution On the S 22 ultra! Also, the color is off on the S 22 ultra! The S 22 ultra may be brighter, but the older S 20 ultra has better Color accuracy, and the realism is more evident over the newer Galaxy S 22 ultraI I also noticed when watching a 4K video on RUclips called Paradise Island, the color of snow was pure white, accurate, and more detailed on the S 20 ultra compared to a dingy white and off colors on the S 22 ultra! Also, check out the 4K video on RUclips called Costa Rica! If you have both phones the S 20 ultra and the S 22 ultra, do a side-by-side comparison! And you’ll see the S 20 ultra comes out on top every time! I am in the mist of trading my old Galaxy S 20 ultra in for A $1000 credit towards the purchase of this new Galaxy S 22 ultra! But now, I don’t know! I can only hope that they come out with an update to correct these problems in the Galaxy S 22 Ultra for color accuracy and an increase in screen resolution back up to 3200x 1440, compared to the 3088x1440 it has now! To me, it makes a really big difference in watching movies, TV programs, and shows!
Except for the Spen (which we rarely use), I am very much satisfied with the S20 Ultra Why would I pay such a lot of money for a processor upgrade that I want notice any difference when using it
I'm only paying $300 to upgrade on Tmobile to the 512 GB version of the S22 Ultra. You think it's only a processor upgrade? 120hz + quad HD, haptics are better, screen gets a lot brighter (very useful in sunlight), battery is same size but better optimized = better battery life, social media apps will now take full advantage of the camera hardware, Samsung is also pledging Android updates till Android 16. The phone is also the first to use the new Gorilla Glass Victus, on the front and back. The S22 Ultra takes substantially better pics and videos than the S20U also.
The screen of the S20 ultra are more beautiful than S22 and the brightness in real life use are not an issue, Samsung please include the S20ultra in the 4 years Androids firmware upgrade not only the security update
No the display is not almost the same. You can clearly see the s20 ultra has a better screen resolution and color than the s22 ultra..so a downgrade. Why would Samsung do this?
I've decided to upgrade just because the deal is pretty good, although I don't really need to. Without the deal I would not have upgraded. I'm extremely happy with my s20. I will just give it to my mom now since she's using my old Note 8.
@@sgill4833 yeah service carriers aren't really that great of a deal I'm buying through Samsung and going to pay off I can't believe s20Ultra trade in value is only $500
I'm curious to know will the S22 Ultra have the option to use 1440p 120hz in power saving mode 🤔 or will it have to be in 1080p 60hz/120hz in power saving mode?
No lie I had the 16 ram 512gig on the s21 ultra. And it was badass...I loved the s21 ultra over my s22 ultra now , but I prefer the s20 ultra over the note 20 ultra..
I upgraded my Note 10+ for the S22 Ultra with 1TB, and T-mobile is giving me $1000 for it. That’s the deal for me seeing that I already have the Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds Pro 2 (which came with my Watch 4). Looking forward to getting my new phone. Thanks for the reviews.
I have a question about the video stabilization. At the S22U does it work on Full HD only or does it now work at 4k 60fps as well 🤔?? I am using myself a S21U and there I am interested to get to know what the differences are between these two devices. Hoping to hear your thoughts about it....thanks 😁
My s20 ultra is still going strong and I'm not sure whether it's worth it to pick up one of the newer cheaper models or not, don't think I can justify the new s22 ultra
Was about to pre-order and then I said, let me see what Saki says - sure enough - the video I needed to see/hear. No upgrade for me even though it's newer/better the S20 Ultra is SO CLOSE and if I REALLY wanted the S-Pen I would probably need to consider the Z-Fold over this. I will wait for the next - Big deal killer for me is the lack of external storage. I'm still old school
S 20 ultra is still bist, very good phone, very good camera, battery life, real life use no difference, camera on s22 ultra is better, but, if you have s20 ultra, don’t upgrade
I was looking into possibly get S21 or S22 but since they did away with expandable memory I won't get it. I will probably get the S20 ultra since it has expandable memory.
Nah,, loosing the SD card slot is a no no...4K video eats through storage .I have it set to the SD card slot as default for video storage and swap them out when full. The rest of the upgrades are nice to haves, but no biggie in light of the upgrade cost..add to that , they shrunk the screen a bit and the resolution.Think i'll wait for the S26 Ultra or S27 Ultra.
hi what do you say that 20 ultra support only 512gb sd cart? i have this phone and use 1tb sd cart with out problem. and cpu is not snap dragon like for china version.but exynos.
Dude I noticed that too and was going to type it but I wanted to scroll and see if anyone wrote it. 512TB would be insane lmao 🤣 I'm guessing that's a 2030 tech tho no doubt.
I'm wondering is the 22 as big a jump from the 20, as the 20 was from the 10 ??....... I only just got 4.0 on my S20+.... ..it'll be a long while before I move to the 22 series. It does look pretty nice though 😉👍
New technology is always fun to have but the reality is the jump isn't for everyone, it really depends how you use your phone and how much you value certain improvements. My opinion would be that if you're happy with your current phone and it isn't having any issues, keep running with it. Yes, the S22 is a bit better across the board. But nothing I would consider game-changing.
ive got the s20+ as well in 512gb. had it for 2 years and its still a damn good phone. snappy as ever. best phone ive ever bought. that being said. i still preordered the 22 ultra. but ONLY because verizon is giving me 1000 dollars for it so i only paid 399 for the 512gb ultra. at 400 you simply cannot beat this phone for the price.

I agree with you about the S10+. I love mine also, but the offer of $1000 trade-in from my carrier was one that I couldn’t refuse, so I ordered my S22 Ultra with 1TB of memory. Getting the 5G technology is what I’ve been waiting for since my S10+ didn’t have it. Looking forward to getting it on the 25th.

They still have the offer until February 28. I'm happy cause I'll be upgrading to a new high end smartphone for about 350.00. Is just a good deal to good to pass. My concern is when Google/Samsung releases 903 mb worth of updates/ security updates also applications updates as well these new phones are going to run out of space really fast. Also taking high definition photos and 8k/4k videos space will be limited due to the lack MicroSD. Reason why I will stay with my Note 20 Ultra with my 512 gb MicroSD. If they release one with a MicroSD then I'll jump on the bandwagon.
Is a great video, however you talk like the S22U is better or worth the upgrade from S20U. I say no. Conclusion S20U in quality /price, memory expansion beats the S22U.

S20 ultra has up to 512tb of storage? That's alot of space for a little device. Haha But seriously, thank you for your comparison videos. Like the format. I'm upgrading from a s20+ to the s22 ultra, so this was the closest comparison video I could find. Definitely seems like a suitable upgrade. I usually upgrade every year, but I skipped the 21. Honestly, the lack of micro sd was a big turn off, and still is. But the longer I wait, I realize that it's most likely not coming back. That was definitely harder to swallow than losing a headphone jack or no charger in the box. But I got a great deal thru Samsung directly, so bit the bullet and jumped on the upgrade. If you can, can you do a video comparing s20+ to the s22 ultra? I know it's a bigger leap than the 20 ultra, but would be interested to see your take. Keep the good videos coming!

Right? The S20u was truly the last actual flagship phone from Samsung. The 21 and 22 have been step back or sideways, still can't compete with the sheer power of the 20.
@Telugu Travel World I don't take that many photos. And never use the quick camera button. It doesn't focus as well
@Telugu Travel World same here have the s20u and I hate the focus issues I can get great pics but close shots with many objects make it confused.
U might as well call it a note 22, thats how the notes are, no sd card slots
S20 Ultra is still the best phone at the end of all this . I can explain all the reasons but that would be a huge review and I'm honestly too lazy to do that rightnow. Lol What do you guys personally think ? If you have never owned the S20 Ultra then I can see why you might also decide to go with the S22 Ultra rather than the S20 Ultra ...
I have the S20+ (5g and 12gb of RAM model)
Do you think it's worth it upgrading it to the s22 ultra?
The s20 ultra has a better screen are you guys blind
It's like upgrading a every year is like buying the same phone twice with minor upgrades
My screen had been cracked for going on a year. Unfortunately that did away with the water resistance and I have to go shopping today
plus you still have Samsung pay. the newer models don't.

What's most important to me is the night time video and photo quality. The rest of the specs were a waste of time.
Fact that buddy has a promo for the S22 at the beginning makes me think this video has some bias
I only got the s22 ultra because I dropped my s20 u at work. I'm disappointed with the lack of an SD card, had 1tb in my s20u. Outside of that, they're pretty much the same phone in my practical everyday use. Not really worth the upgrade imo.
I got s20 ultra 16gb ram 512gb I love it
I have one of these 512 GB, nothing to envy any cell phone
Haha same here
Yes, I'm sure S22 Ultra worth the upgrade over S20 Ultra because S20 ultra has auto focus defects and have no free s pen to write.
Not a big deal. Only matters if you need that perfect picture in a flash no redo.
@@sgill4833 the autofocus defects are rlly bad tho, it is very frustrating
@@savierlittlejohn7657 ya if you take the pictures fast, takes time to get a good shot
You are the best on RUclips thanks for the video
Except for the Spen (which we rarely use), I am very much satisfied with the S20 Ultra
Why would I pay such a lot of money for a processor upgrade that I want notice any difference when using it
Just design hahahaha as practicality tool more than enough
I'm only paying $300 to upgrade on Tmobile to the 512 GB version of the S22 Ultra. You think it's only a processor upgrade? 120hz + quad HD, haptics are better, screen gets a lot brighter (very useful in sunlight), battery is same size but better optimized = better battery life, social media apps will now take full advantage of the camera hardware, Samsung is also pledging Android updates till Android 16. The phone is also the first to use the new Gorilla Glass Victus, on the front and back. The S22 Ultra takes substantially better pics and videos than the S20U also.
@@stuffandthangs3953 how exactly does it suck ?

For anyone watching, you can get the S20 Ultra for 399 in used but mint condition on ebay. Truly incredible phone for the money.
Hope you can do a comparison vs the Note 20 Ultra...since that would be latest Note to Note comparison.
Same chip as s20u, only has added spen and laser focus but smaller battery and less ram, than s20u.
I'm curious to know will the S22 Ultra have the option to use 1440p 120hz in power saving mode 🤔 or will it have to be in 1080p 60hz/120hz in power saving mode?
I extremely appreciate this video. The only video which has a very clear comparison starting from the similarities and then to differences.

The S 20 ultra came out at the wrong time, so people kind of forgot about it. Also it had focus issues with the camera. And it was way too overpriced. That’s why Samsung released the S 21 ultra so early in the year so they can recover.
