Been jerryrigging this kind of setup for a while now on my other slider. Been a minute since I got some gear from iFootage, this is definitely on the wishlist! Thanks for sharing. :D
Thanks mate, I appreciate it! I think a „How I light my RUclips videos“ wouldn’t be very interesting in my case because it’s actually very simple. I use a keylight with 5600 Kelvin 45 degrees in front of my face. Then I have a tubelight just behind me that lights the grey closet a bit. And one more light with 3200 Kelvin that lights the right part of my head from the back.
rando sidenote: glad to have stumbled upon your channel here, just subbed; your content is a great combo of relevant & informative, without a lot of diabolical thumbnails/titles or editing. For those of us that consume a *lot of youtube on non-shoot days, it's channels like this that are a breath of fresh air - great seeing some bright & fun creativity along with some subtle & tasteful graphics, while delivering some insightful details. Looking forward to adding several of your vids to my playlist, keep up the good work!
I seriously want to love this new slider, but just wish there was longer track. ~40cm just limits so many shots. Otherwise, great seeing this new capability unlocked now that it has comms with Ronin. Thanks for the vid!!
In the beginning I thought as well that 40cm might be a bit short, actually I used it for interviews and some product shootings and it worked without any problem. I‘m quite happy with this portable length.
@@RonaldKasper it's good to hear some real-world viability, thanks for the input. I've been working my 1000mm Zeapon pretty hard the last couple years, and have grown accustomed to having a decent travel distance. For the right user, this ifootage probably be a real asset/upgrade. If I didn't rely on motion time lapses so much, I'd likely be more tempted to get this one, but perhaps there is a 'Pro' model around the corner that will increase the travel, while implementing this fantastic gimbal comm tech 🤞 iFootage if you're reading this: a ~$2000 30-40" slider would be wildly popular, and a very 'easy yes' from me and a lot of other filmmakers I know : ] Let me ask you this: is the footage usable when you get to the end points of slider? on mine, in certain situ, will see a little vibration/jitter once it's getting towards the end. it's not all the time, but it's a variable; if the ifootage is usable for 100% of the travel, I would say that's a pretty big win being able to consistantly utilize the entire distance. again, thanks for the info here, i absolutely love a good chat in the YT comments to not only learn more myself, but help those folks out there at 2am with 20 tabs open lol, who are researching and trying to decide where to put those hard-earned dollars 👌
@ Hi! I can definitely say that this slider does not jitter in the endpoints. That’s something I hated on several other sliders (I had a GVM that was horrible) and this one is buttery smooth at the ends when it loups between A and B position several times.
I asked iFootage about that topic: The answer is, it works: "When used with DJI RS2, RS2 Pro, RS3 Pro, RS4, and RS4 Pro, you can achieve precise and dynamic keyframe focus adjustments, enabling smoother transitions."
Hi! Yes of course! I just exported every frame of the video as an image and replaced the original sunglasses with different ones in photoshop. So quite a lot of work for 186 frames but the result looks cool I think.
I just don’t want to push the gimbal around, I feel I have more control with the joystick. Especially when I film myself, I would have to lean forward to the gimbal and destroy my framing.
Hi @@RonaldKasper, thank you for your response. Do you mean that Slider has actually focus menu presets that are eventually sent to the DJI Gimbal? What I am trying to achieve is kind simple: use the length of the Shark nano 2 + DJI Focus motor (setup as zoom function) to maximize the zoom traveling effect. The focus will be automatic from the camera itself.
@ hi! Yes exactly. So if you change the focus with the follow focus, the slider stores these values per position (similar to the other axis positions of the gimbal)
Hi Ronald, nice video ! Is there something in particular to do to get the Ronin connected to the Nano 2 ? I just got a RS4 Pro and a Nano 2, but I can't figure how to make things work. My push mode is activated, the firmwares are updated, I got the communication cable on.. but still nothing happens.. any chance you could help on this please ? thanks so much
Hi! That's strange, have you tried to move the gimbal with the app? Does that work? I do not have the push mode activated, maybe try to deactivate it as well.
@@RonaldKasper Hi Ronald, thanks for you quick answer, much appreciated. The gimbal doesn't move with the ifootage App. I tried to disconnect and connect again the communication cable, but it doesn't change anything. and I don't see the 4 blue pointers on the app, I don't have the tilt option.
Hm. Did you try to switch off the slider completely and leave your gimbal powered ON. Then restart the slider. Maybe it can only connect if there is already an active gimbal attached when it boots up (although I don't have this behaviour)
@@RonaldKasper No I haven't tried this yet ! I sent an email to ifootage, waiting for their answer now. But I think the issue comes from the nano 2, I tried to connect with an old RS2, and it doesnt work either.
I guess they shouldn’t call it „Nano“ anymore then 😂 But honestly i think this size is pretty good for most of the stuff. I was wondering if you would be able to answer a question about the batter grip as I can't see any information about it anywhere and ifootage customer support don't seem to answer any of my questions. They just keep sending me a link to your video, which is great but doesn't show what I needed to know. Here is what I write to them: The Godox ML100Bi has a normal barrel plug to plug the mains into a wall and also a usb c power socket but doesn't have a usb c cable included with it. What I would need to know though is would the ifootage battery grip supply my light to reach 100% power when using a usb c cable? The light is 120watt and the battery grip is 140watt, so I know the power is there but will it travel through a usb c cable for the light to work at full power if needed? Would I need to purchase a specific usb c cable?
That will depend a lot on how many Volts your light needs for powering it. My Amaran 200x needs 48 Volts but the battery grip can only provide a maximum pf 28 Volts at 5 Ampere. Check if this is enough for your light, I assume it’s not. The Wattage alone is not enough information.
