    Would be interesting to see which tracks are more expensive, probably based on incident rates, closeness of walls, etc.

      I am curious of that too but thinking it’s more on the value of the car. My S2000 was the same price at both Sebring and Road Atlanta

    I got track insurance from Lockton for the HPDE events i went to at New Jersey motorsports and summit point raceway. I didn't have any issues at the track but I think it is good to have just in case.

      Thank you so much! I agree, I always make sure I have the track insurance just to make sure I can go out and have the most fun possible

    That was some great info. I personally go with the finger crossed insurance but you are very right and I always consider getting track insurance.

      Hahaha I did that once and it almost went bad so I made sure track insurance was a must

    Mustang @4:22 looks like he came into that left handed too hot. Easy mistake to make especially when you have that much power on tap. I’m really looking into a Miata or fiesta or something I won’t regret wrecking to start doing track days again. Have a couple of rare-ish sports cars that I would totally insure, but still be sad to crash. Used to do track days, but now, I think I’m more wary.

      I’m the same way. My special cars are so much fun to track but don’t let me drive all out because I don’t want to see one damaged. I’m looking at another track car too that keeps costs down and can build another if I wreck. Been looking into Civics with K-swaps as a fast and affordable track car

      That crash was at Mid Ohio. I was just there yesterday for a track event. If you search RUclips for “Porsche crash Mid Ohio” you will definitely see why you should have track insurance!

    In the event that the car is not totaled, and you combined your modification value into your car's total value, does that mean that the damaged aftermarket parts would not be covered?

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  4 года назад

      As far as I know it wouldn’t be covered. They have a spot for modifications and you have to list each part and the value of that part.

    Does a track insurance claim raise your regular auto insurance rates?

    • @TheAllAmericanDriver
      @TheAllAmericanDriver 4 года назад

      I don't think you can claim an accident on normal insurance

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  4 года назад +1

      No it is two separate entities. Track insurance covers you for the track for that weekend and you pay for your coverage for that event. Your car insurance that you have on your car will not cover your car on track if you stuff it

    • @THEDriverMod_
      @THEDriverMod_ 4 года назад

      @@TheAllAmericanDriver i know that but if you make a claim using your track insurance will your normal insurance go up for regular, non track use

    • @TheAllAmericanDriver
      @TheAllAmericanDriver 4 года назад

      @@THEDriverMod_ I am pretty sure they are separate. I got a few quotes before my last track day and it was so expensive. And they don't cover collision with another car. Only covered things like me hitting a wall.

    So, the real question is: Did the track insurance cover the guy's pants?

  • @Formaldehydex
    @Formaldehydex 2 года назад

    It depends on whether or not you are going to intentionally exceed your own ability level. Or if you are going to engage in patently stupid behavior like your Lime Rock clip. They were all way too close. As far as dropping oil is concerned, run with reputable DE organizations that require proper inspection by mechanics who are familiar with track inspections. As far as I am concerned, using it to pay for your ineptitude is really insurance fraud.

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  2 года назад

      The insurance is there mostly for other people in my opinion. I get it for the just in case. I’ve run with plenty reputable DE organizations and failures happen no matter how prepped a car is. Things happen all the time out of your control and I like to be protected for piece of mind.

    • @Formaldehydex
      @Formaldehydex 2 года назад

      @@BROCKgoFAST Your examples show how completely untrue those statements really are. How many DEs do you attend where the lug nuts are checked every single morning, much less require an inspection by a reputable mechanic who has been certified by the organization running the event? How many require extensive instructor training before you are finally signed off by the chief instructor after you have demonstrated complete knowledge of the track and ability to operate the car in a safe and courteous manner, while proving you are looking at flaggers by answering questions like “what color shirt was he wearing”. I have attended so-called “HPDEs” where they really don’t care. Not only are you far better off having insurance, you had better hope your medical insurance will pay the bills when you end up hospitalized for a month. PCA DEs are so well run that your insurance provider will typically pay for your first incident, but they usually attach a rider to your policy after that denying coverage at DEs.

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  2 года назад

      @@Formaldehydex yes that’s why I always get insurance. I run with PBOC, PCA, and NASA. All very well run organizations with on prem tech, signed off tech cards and mandatory instructors with testing. Is there crappy run organizations out there? Of course and why insurance is a good thing. You also never know when you exceed your limits when trying to push. Sometime life happens
