That looks like literally the perfect zone. I gotta move closer to the mountains.

So glad you are testing out this board. Saw this board on line a few weeks ago and there is little information I can find on it, so stoked your on one. Speaking of boards with no info on them, do you know if your will get to test the new Head split coming out next year? Seen pics of them but know nothing else about them….

I will send an email to Head now, wow that's great news. The mega is going to offer super light core, high end carbon and such. It will be pricy, but worth the investment.

Looks epic. I was wondering which boots are you using. Thanks!

Hi Mike, thanks for review. When you could pick only one splitboard for all-around riding / alps slopes and freeride, which one it will be? Capita Mega Split + Union Charger, Jones Stratos + Spark R&D Arc ST Pro or Jones Solution + Karakoram Nomad? Thank you very much in advance and cheers.

Can I meet in the middle and say Jones Soluation with Sparks, thats a hard combo to beat. #2 would be stratos with Sparks,

    Hi Mike
    Cool test, nice turns :-)
I have a question about the flex and the associated uphill performance. 6.5 is closer to the lower limit. How does board fare in much worse conditions. How does the overall performance compare to the Stranda Fjäderlätt which has a flex of 9?
    I would appreciate an answer.
    Cheers Tom

      Hey Tom,
The Stranda will handle rougher snow easier when compared to the Capita. I liked the board it was just a bit on the light side if you end up in nasty snow or terrain.

I know it’s only your first lap/ tour on the Mega Split but how would you say it compares to the Neo Slasher?
I know the Mega is based off the Mercury / Mega Merc and that’s my normal resort board so would actually be rad to have that familiar ride as I venture into splitboarding as well.

I really like it. I also rode the neoslahser in this area in the past. I felt the Mega toured better and was ooh so responsive. Would make for a great splitboard

Sick turns bro. What size were you riding? How was the stiffness? Cheers.

Hey Chris, thanks for the comment. I was on a smaller sized board than normal. 159. Little on the softer side, not noodly but also not really a big mountain charger. More fun fun, freestyle and well fun!

@@MountainWeeklyNews Hey Mike, do you mind if I ask your weight? I love the solid in a 59 and I’m wondering if the 59 will be big enough for me in a split as well. I’m around 200.
