I think the reason Sunshine drains so quickly, compared to Galaxy, is that it's fully emulating a GameCube while Galaxy's code is native and the graphics/sound are emulated

@@VIDEOGAMER20 He literally said he bought 4 switches lol Edit: Don't know if he did the same with the Lites, but considering he bought 4 copies of more expensive consoles I wouldn't doubt it if he did the same.
The reason why Galaxy lasts longer is because the Switch CPU is running the game directly (CPU code was ported to Switch with Galaxy), while Sunshine is emulating the Gamecube CPU, that is the difference IMO. Emulation is just harder to achieve, so it works more at it, and the higher clock of the Wii CPU is still less of a demand from the Switch CPU than emulating the Gamecube CPU.

The reason Galaxy has a better battery life than Sunshine does, is because for Sunshine, the *entire* game is emulated. With Galaxy, the code was recompiled for the CPU of the Switch, making it more efficient. The graphics and audio are still being emulated, but having the engine code running on bare metal makes the battery performance a lot better overall. Still quite impressed at the emulator efficiency of the collection, how it can run so smoothly and still get good battery life, when Dolphin on the Switch couldn't really handle the games at all. It makes sense though, Nintendo should know their consoles better than anyone, and they can make the emulation extremely accurate and optimized.
@TheDrewSaga For SM64, recompiling the source to run natively could be done, and yes they have the source code, but in order to recompile, they would most likely need to do a LOT of recoding, or find a machine old enough to compile/use a VM. Emulation in this case makes sense, and I suspect the same goes for Sunshine. Galaxy and up are still really recent, and most likely are able to be compiled on modern PCs and Windows without too many issues, and so it's an easier process to do so.
@TheDrewSaga Also, you are playing the PC version of the game which is *not* based on the leaked source code, but upon the community-driven decompilation project.
