I came up with this idea last week and had to make it happen! Been wanting to do something with millipedes for awhile and thought this would be a perfect way to showcase them. What do you think?! Also I went back to my original recording voice... I can't believe how many of you thought I was sad last week. I simply decided to talk instead of narrate. I appreciate how many of you provided encouraging words though. SerpaSquad 🌿
Another reason, why you shouldn't use your normal mix is the coco fiber. The coco fiber will usually be lethal to millipedes. I think, the only reason, you still found a fee was, that it also includes other stuff. But if you want some millipedes in a vivarium, you should think of a better option for coco fiber.😄 Sorry, if it's written a bit weird, I'm still sick from the flu, so my head doesn't work well😂
This might be my favorite build yet. exquisite design! And you somehow never mentioned the gorgeously thematic dragon stone, dragon wood, and flame moss!
I love how this design turned out! I think for the future you should make something involving Red Claw crabs I can see making a beach themed habitat a unique and awesome scape
I do not delude myself that i will ever go to the trouble of attempting to make one of these beautiful creations, but i thoroughly enjoy watching you do so. Its very therapeutic, and i get a sense of achievement vicariously. This has all fascinated me since i was a child but as with most people life just gets in the way, so your videos are the next best thing.
I don't think I've ever seen a terrerium setup like this, but my favorite part is the "vine". I think it would be cool to make a huge setup specifically for millipedes, isopods, springtails, worms, and other cleanup crews. Edit : Punctuation error
TheRaptorsRampage AntCanada did something like this although he focused on functionality over aesthetics. He called it the “Nucleus” and it only houses worms, millipedes and others that you mentioned which he uses to cultivate a diverse substrate additive to his other enclosures. It would be really cool to see what Tanner could do with an idea like that but put his artistic touch on it.
I would absolutely love to see this actually. I recently tried my hand at ants and it didn't go well so I've decided to try bottom feeders. I have snails who recently had babies and the isopods seem happy to crawl around in with them and have bred on their own too. No plant survives that terrarium though, lmao.
Hey man in the future when you’re taping a round edge, rather than curving the tape and creating folds the epoxy can get under, try applying straight strips all the way around and cut it off along your line with a razor blade. It will leave less gaps and folds for the finish to seep under.
E H I think he just changed his mind about how he wanted it to look toward the end. Had he gone in wanting the whole base black, I’m sure he would have painted it earlier on
@Daniela Ferreira wanna build mine as well, its been months and im still procrastinating, leaving the whole thing for "later" , but i really want one xD
One of my favorites so far! The contrast between the stone, plants, and roots all give it a real life landscape look. Great work and thank you for the inspiration.
The "Dragon" stone is called Ohko in Japan and Taihu in China, both are revered in their countries of origin. Interestingly, they are most often used as you used them, placed at a right angle to how they are found in nature. This is a remarkably beautiful terrarium. You are an artist. I am even beginning to warm up to millipedes...If you are ever in Portland, Oregon, the Chinese Classical Garden recreates a typical scholar's home in Suzhuo, China, complete with literal tons of dragon rock from clay-filled caves outside of the city of Suzhou. Without dome: Wow, what a beautiful piece. It seems more like something you'd find in a fantasy story than a tiny terrarium. With dome under the lights: It's a silly ghost! =D OOOOooOOoOoo!
The lights give the glass dome eyes xD Also, Frickin awesome work my dude! When I saw "millipede" in the title I was wondering how a giant one would mix with your often very delicate environments, but yeah those guys will do!
Don’t normal comment or like or anything but for this channel I do because it inspired me and hope it can inspire millions of others like me so I guess I could.❤
at first i was worried about the millipedes not having enough substrate to burrow in , then you brought out those crazy small ones ! beautiful build and super unique !
After attempting to work with a design that includes roots I have realized how much talent it takes to do what you do...mine didn't come out anywhere as nice, but I realize it is because of the way you drape the roots over the stone...mine looked more like I stuck them in at weird angles! Great job working with the materials, Tanner!
Stunning vivarium, as always. My only concern is that the pedes wont be getting any organic nutrients via rotting wood or soil/compost, both of which are very important for them!
Yeah substrate is super important for millis. They need a good amount of it and it needs to have pretty specific components which were not included at all.
So beautiful. What a wonderful creation! I think it would be fun to see a touch of whimsy in a piece like this... like adding a small tiki statue or something hinting of an overgrown, forgotten temple. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world!

Absolutely love this build and design! You have a real knack, if not a gift for creating such beautiful environments. Very much looking forward to a future update on this millipede habitat!
This is amazing. I just started a colony of outside garden millipedes the other day, they are so cute and active. I love them and happy to see you use them here. They're like little dragons circling a mountain straight out of some Chinese fantasy.
Each time I think you've peaked in creativity and made the best, you go one better. The rocks and roots combination works so well, they look like they grown together. This is perfectly amazing and must be fun watching the millipedes run up and down.

I have no idea why the youtube algorithm suddenly decided I'd like terrariums, but it's scary how right it was.
That’s how I got into the hobby. Randomly got recommend a video of his.
