DIY Mini 3 World Zen Garden Terrarium

- I've been thinking lately that I wanted to make a new terrarium. So, I took a look through my containers and found the one I used in this video. As soon as I saw it, this idea came to me. I thought, how cool would it be to include a sand zen garden on the bottom?
As I started working through it, I really embraced the rustic artisan vibe. Overall I'm really pleased with how it turned out. From the handmade tools to the terrarium and even the stain choice, I think it shaped up to be a really unique piece. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!

It seems like ages since I last made a proper terrarium on the channel. So, I took the idea of a zen garden and combined it with a terrarium. What do you think of the result? I think it turned out awesome. I hope you all enjoyed the video and have a great weekend! PS - Sorry for the late upload. This one took AWHILE to edit.
I think it looks amazing!
Hello again 👋, you my friend do not need to apologise for being late in upload I would wait for time 🤗🤗 Helpful and caring for creating life. Have a great time this weekend.
Blessed Be 🤗😎
@@saqquire Sapphire I would like to say Hello 👋 and thanks and hope you remember to take pictures often so you can see the time laps to see what you have made and how Nature finds a way always.
Thanks for the communication and Blessed Be 🤗
B E A utiful!
Maaaaaaaaan, soooooo delicate, so detailed,so small and so beautiful. I love working with small detailed ideas,it is very time consuming but in the end its worth it. Kudos to you again you never cease to amaze me Tanner. I am so thankful and honored to be part of the Serpa squad . Keep it coming and keep up the incredible art of nature. Loving it!
something i love about artists is, that no matter the level or detail of craft, hotglue will always be a tool. its just so silly
If it don't need fixed then why fix it lol 😂 hot glue sounds like one of them lol
People hate on hot glue way too much. It has a specific use case and this is a perfect usage for it. No one is building houses with it, but for small crafts that aren’t moving much it’s perfect
It’s like NASA and duct tape!
I respect people that use hot glue, largely because it means they have the patience of a saint if they can deal with all of the glue strings getting all over the place.
They just drive me crazy, and are seemingly almost impossible to entirely remove, so I tend to avoid my hot glue gun like the plague.
Cool 😊
"They're kind of rough, but that's alright." - Look, I don't ĥave money for therapy, this is all I got, and I'll take it.
This channel is better than a lot of therapy, imo
Gosh is that ever a mood
BRO IF THIS AINT THE TRUEST STATEMENT💀‼️
came here to basically say this. I dont buid these... I watch Tanner build them haha
Excellent alternative
Did the spider in the Sphagnum Moss in the last bubble stay in the build? Love this idea! It looks amazing! :-)
16:10 for the curious
I was wondering the same thing
I wondered the same thing too.
I wonder if he could survive by eating springtails alone?
I came to ask that, too!
Oh dear, a candle holder becomes a terrarium.
I love it. Everything starts looking like aquariums, terrariums, ponds etc....
Vases, candle holders, fruit bowls, terracotta garden pot pond... I love it when items like that can be repurposed and reused.
Great work again....
Tanner, as always, you're kept things as cheap and DIY as possible while making a piece among envy from professionals! This was an amazing video, and something I could see myself doing (if i ever find the motivation since i know it wont be as stellar as yours).
Kinda shows you that as long as you just are a little creative you can make some fun stuff
Love the little spider friend in the mossy scape! Hope he makes a home there.
What sprider? He only added springtails!
I found your channel today after searching for terrarium ideas. I've watched several of your videos and can't believe how creative and talented you are. Everything you do is beautiful, functional... and basically perfect. You make things which I look for in stores, but never find. I just watched the mini-aquarium for snails, and was left speechless, but now, this zen garden triple terrarium.......no words!!
the tiny spider at 16:12 found his new home
Dude I was blown away when you placed the clear marbles! You’re so creative I really like watching your videos, they’re so calming to me. I wish I could shrink down to fairy size so I can explore cool terrariums like this. 🧚🏻♀️🏞
Good work dude! 🌱🐸👍🏻
Honestly they're all adorable🥰 What a unique gorgeous little piece!
The Bob Ross of terrariums. So relaxing 😴
My favorite is in the center as well, Does anyone else see the piece of wood that looks like an old woman with a big smile on her face and waving as if to say "HELLO". It's the far right piece of wood in the center globe. When i first saw it going in it looked like it she was saying "Yay, I got picked". I love these videos! Tanner, you do such beautiful work.
This might be my favourite video that I have seen on this channel. The vibe of the video, the easy to follow tutorial, the end result. This is the sort of content that can inspire people. I wish this sort of stuff would be promoted more, since it shows how just a bit of work can create an amazing result for yourself and others.
Very cute and very zen! A little Buddha for the sand garden would be adorable, too ☯️
“To make it look official” lol I love your sense of humor, not just your beautiful work!
I didn’t even notice this was a 20 minute video. This was awwesome!
The fact that you get such beautiful ideas by looking at ordinary things, is just amazing. Another class piece of work.
The way you didn’t react to hot glue on your fingers blew my mind. Dedication!
Lol I have chef hands 😂
@@SerpaDesign it looked beautiful in the end. Every aspect was organic looking and personalized as always. 👍
This guy drives me crazy with the level of hie creativity. I wanna meet him in person and compliment him for his dexterity and excellent aesthetic imagination
Yes, finally!!! A terrarium build - my favorite series! :D
Enjoy!
Your creativity never ceases to astound me. The terrariums are not only beautiful but they serve the same purpose as a full-scale zen garden - gazing for hours without boredom.
they simply stunning !!!! you have made ancestors proud !!!! :D
Very beautiful indeed! Serpa design inspired me to create a fishkeeping channel! 🐟🐠
I loved the whole piece no complaints it’s really good for someone who works in the office and needs a mental break i think it’s perfect
I just like the idea that someone gives this guy a gift or something for Christmas and he's staring at the container like. "Man....I can probably make a terrarium out of this." 😂
I like the one with the dragon wood the best! Your terrariums truly are the most mystical, wonderful, and serene ones out there. The way you explain the process of building it is also very calming and therapeutic. Thank you for this.
I like the last one, the moss one, best because of the little spider friend that managed to sneak its way inside there with the moss!
This is absolutely the best moss terrarium i have seen
I just said to myself earlier today that it's been a while since Tanner uploaded a terrarium build and here it is!! Thank you! :')
There is only one word to describe what this guy is and what he does is and that’s awesome
Never knew I wanted this as a hobby until just now.
What a precisely made terrarium
I can't decide what I love more... the piece as a whole, the little scapes, the zen sand, or the tiny tools. Thanks for another amazing build!
You need some little stones for the sand tray.
An update on how this one and others look after a while could be super cool.
Anyone one else want Tanner's voice on smart device's ? Man my driving would be so chilled 😎
Just when I thought the terrarium options were exhausted...this is amazing! Endlessly creative.
my favorite is the one to the left end. that quercifolia really sets it off with that contrast
OMG it's GORGEOUS! It's AWESOME. It's a MASTER PIECE. I love IT. It's ADORABLE. Your PASSION brings SMILE. Thank you so much.
Your creativity knows no bounds
You are a part of my Saturday morning routine. Thank you!!
Such a unique glass to start with
I really love the one on the far left. The whole piece is amazing tho.
Of course we have to watch all the way to the end! Gotta see the finished look!
I think this build is absolutely lovely. My favorite sphere is the left, because it looks like a tiny scene in a forest with miniature ivy! One of these days I will build my own terrarium, you inspire me so much Tanner!
Epic build man, been watching you grow as you and others inspired me to persue my passion, thank you for giving me something to be happy for.
Follow your dreams!
YOURE LITERALLY ONE OF THE O LY RUclipsRS I WATCH. Thank you for the videos your work amazes me every time ❤❤
without realizing, this has quickly become my favorite channel
i like the one on the left. and i watched the whole thing. keep up the awesome work!
I love it. the reflection in the clear marble is an awesome effect.
Definitely one of my favourites! And I'm so happy to see some springtails again! I miss the cleanup crew when it isn't part of a build
The left one is definitely my favourite, but I love them all!
the one on the left is my favorite personally and I do love this theme of design.
I used to have the exact container that I bought about 7 years ago with the intention to make terrariums, but I never did! Mine didn’t have a stand with it though. This video really fulfills my previous desire to turn it into a terrarium and I love it!!! Beautiful work, as always.
The stand he used was just a triple candle holder he bought separately.
Very cool! I like the center one, the best too!
By far my favorite terrarium yet! I think the first one is my favorite!
Thumbnail reminds me of the old movie total recall with Arnold. I’ll never forget that scene. The best scene ever in a movie.
I think this is one of my favourite terrariums since I started watching back in the Spring. I agree that the tray could be larger if it is to be used as a zen garden, but the footprint does look nice for the size of the terrariums. The marble on top was the perfect final touch.
Awesome build as always! I’m always so mesmerized by zen gardens and I’m super glad to see this implemented in your builds! Perhaps one day we could see a build on a bigger scale :D maybe with a bonsai maple or a levitating pot!
This would make a lovely gift.
The marbles are clever. All the terrariums look great
16:10 - 16:18
There’s a little spider on the spagnum moss 🕷
This is absolutely gorgeous!! So much talent and I love how it turned out. You’re a master of what you do!
Slays all day. My fav is also the middle one👍
Blown away as always by your art.
This is a super cool build; I love minimalist aesthetics! I think this and the stalactite are my favorites lol
You should totally do more projects like this
Hi Serpa! Another awesome vid! Funny thing is, I was just looking through your videos lately and did notice that it had been a while since you've done a terrarium build! Glad you're back at it.
Quick question:
You got me into terrariums this last year, and since then, I've been hooked. I followed your video on moss propagation for my first one. It's been great, and I've been able to find around ten different species to add. However, after a couple of months, mold started to appear. At first I just dunked the moss in a hydrogen peroxide + water mixture, which worked pretty well. It kept coming back though, so I added springtails. While I'm sure the springtails have been helpful, the mold remains. I can't use my old hydrogen peroxide mixture, because I read that it kills the springtails. I have the terrarium under this grow light for 10 hours a day. The moss is looking great, but the mold sort of ruins the aesthetic. Do you ever have similar problems with your setups? If so, what would you do about it in my case?
It can happen sometimes due to lack of airflow. If you can install a small fan on the side to keep the air moving, it should stop occurring. Something tiny like these should work. www.amzn.com/B08948MT6F/ EDIT get the 5V USB one.
@@SerpaDesign Thank you so much! I'll definitely have to try those out. Just want to let you know how much of an impact you're having! Rooting you on to 1mil subscribers!
Oh, and I'd say my favorite was the one on the right. I love the black lava rock look. 😄
@@parmerapps69 I found that too much light contributed to the problem as well.
Over a year later, no more mold or algea, after switching my moss to live under my Dr Walstad inspired rack w/ shop lights (timer is on at 8:30 am, off at 1 pm, back on at 5 pm, off at 10 pm)
Aquariums no longer grow algae, either.
Stunning! My 9 year old sister was transfixed by this video, and we are just in awe of your talent and gift! Thanks for sharing :)
Thats some oldschool Serpa styling. Love it.
Me too! It's very amazing! Serpa design inspired me to create a fishkeeping channel! 🐟🐠
the one with the wood on the end was my favorite one~ this is so beautiful!!!
My favorite is the simple moss garden with black lava rocks!
I think it’s beautiful. I love the end one opposite of the tools.
We need a public Serpa gallery. A serpa cafe. Someone give this man a museum to fill
Beautiful. Yes a bigger one would be cool too !
I almost forgot that you a the god of tiny terrariums!! Thank you so much Tanner
OH EM GEE, AMAZEBALLS! So much moss for last onE@!!!, great work serpa!
The one on the left, I love the scale of the leaves
That turned out great for sure! It makes a better zen garden than any candle holder. Quite clever!
Very peaceful and doable for a small living space. Enjoyed the video.
WOWZERS! Badge! like boyscouts! very cool, serpa!
I enjoyed the look of the hardscape from the one to the left!
Build a big big one! A few gallons! Cool concept!
i cant wait to explore this as a hobby
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen
I love the terrariums you present. I grow luffa and make organic skincare and now am branching off into terrariums
Love this. Curved branches one my favorite.
looks beautiful, i like the calm way you explain and show how you create your visions
I like all three for diff reasons, all gorgeous!!
Our fav is the left one 💚 good build mate, agree more sand would be good fun!!
Such a sweet simple terrarium yet its one of my favs
Agree! It's so awesome! Especially at the end! Serpa design inspired me to make a fishkeeping channel!
This has to be my favorite so far, I will forever have a miniature zen garden on my plant shelf because of my aunt
i like the last one with black lava rocks looks really nice
RUclips randomly recommended this channel, and I'm happy that the algorithm actually worked out positively for once.
I'd second that the center bulb was my favorite. I know Tanner was going for a forest look, but it really reminded me of how when you're approaching a beach, and the grass starts to give way to the sandy shoreline. Love it.
Also, a lot of people sleep on how useful a solid wire is as a tool. Back during one of my old jobs, I considered it one of my best tools.
Very nice! Three diverse but linked environments. Thank you! And Peace!
That tiny rake and plow is EVERYTHING to me
The finally piece wasn stunning. Good job man.
You have amazing talent and patience. Your work is incredible!
Spectacular !!! Its a most beautiful piece. I'm so happy you had a vision to use these for something other than a candle. Your design elevated the piece.
This is my favorite thing in the internet
I would have never thought of any of this and the clear marbles!!! That was genius!!!
Fabulous❤ Had a zen garden long ago.. now I desire a wooden box to make one with again. Thank you!
I have recently seen a bunch of your videos. I notice that you use quite a bit of expanding foam, so I have a challenge. Make a bioactive terrarium, but make the whole background out of expanding foam. Like this if you want him to see this!
