I along with my wife and 10 friends are going to Kailas Manasasarovar yathre on 11 th June 17, in Shankar Treks. I am 60 years old with fairly fit. Twice our trip was c cancelled. First time in 2014 China govt. did not give Visa as there wAS A TIBETIAN FESTIVAL SAGA DAVA which comes once in 12 years. Our trip got cancelled and Anand gave us full refund. In 2015 there was earthquake in Nepal. Hence the tour was again cancelled. This time with Lord Shivas blessings and your blessings we hope to make a successful yathra. Hello Madam - 19,800 for horse for 3 days and porter is a good rate. You please agree to it. Calculation is 600 yuan per day per horse for 3 days and probably balance 100 yuan is for porter. To me it’s okay.

Jeeva Palanisamy - Normally it’s cheaper to apply China / Tibet permit thru a Tour operator like ShankarTreks.com else it would be costly, time consuming and effort hungry work. Video can be made easily sir.. first keep taking video or photo of all interesting things on the tour.. keep listening to the stories and read all notice boards, watch several RUclips videos and listen to elders.. Gather all the data and present it as you like orally.. record it first.. Then bring the supporting videos to back your commentary. If no video, use photos. But try to be authentic.. Be yourself and tell your story.. Use some simple editing software like PowerDirector to make videos.. That is all 🙏
My detailed suggestions / clarifications for most frequently raised question by Yatris, repeated for every one's benefit. Let me try to share my views on the most frequently asked by yatris. I may be wrong and please apply your mind well and do not just follow my view.. Okay? On that basis, let me share my views: 1. Now in 2017, only route to Kailash is via flight from NepalGunj to Simikot and Helicopter from Simikot to Hilsa and reach Taltakot at TIbet. It usuallly costs about 1.75 lacs with Shankartreks.com, the operator I went with. This is on Kathmandu to Kathmandu basis including all travel, hotel stay and Food. Air ticket from any where in India to Kathmandu is extra. This would be roughly 20,000 or if you book in advance may be 15000. All other costs like shopping, tips, mobile phone recharges, some small snacks etc. will be another 10,000. If due to bad weather, if the tour gets extended by one or two days, tour operators will charge about 3000 rupees extra per day per person and you should be prepared to pay that. 2. The payment for Horse is about 27000 Rupees extra and Rs. 9000 for the Porter extra. Horse man will not do the job of porter and will not allow any one to carry bag when they sit on the horse. But if some is super fit, they can walk by themselves and carry their luggage. But usually, 90% of people will hire horse and porter, especially people who are older than 55 years. The challenge is not NORMAL WALKING ABILITY IN YOUR HOMETOWN. The BIG challenge we usually would face is BREATHLESSNESS DUE TO HIGH ALTITUDE at Himalayas. I recommend, if you are planning to go to Kailash, please go as soon as possible, when you are young. For people who are 70 or above, getting China VISA is very difficult and not allowed officially. 3. Officially one can hire horse and porter only for 3 full day basis and it is not available for one day separately. If some one managed to get only for a day or two, then it is their luck and there is no guarantee we will also be lucky.. Even people requiring horse and porter for ALL 3 days, should make reservation by paying 100% money to the tour operator at least 2 days before the Parikrama. This was the requirement of www.shankartreks.com, the operator we went with. 4. Tour operator will not be able to assist on photo or video. you have to manage all by yourself. 5.Food will be very very basic food and no diet food will be provided. When we went with www.Shankartreks.com they provided freshly prepared food in time at all places. Food was no problem at all. But different operator, may be different standard may apply. 6. Credit card is of NO USE and you need to carry USD only.. that also, in China, you need to change to Chinese money or you can pay in dollars itself. 7. Basis my experience, people need original medical certificate and for your own safety. Even if the Chinese authorities give visa for people older than 60 to go to Kailash, they will not allow you to do the parikrama even by horse.. During June 2016, six people died and due to that they stopped all yatris who were older than 60 years from doing parikrama suddenly.. Such things will happen. In fact, many people older than in our group, lost a lot of money paid for the horse and the porter in advance ! Even if you get visa, you may be able only see Kailash and may not be able to do the Parikrama. You should be prepared for this. Finally, we all can ask a lot questions.. But the actual answer is only with Lord Shiva.. No one can answer anything with surety.. Be confident and be positive and Pray, Pray and Pray.. That is all. when he invites you, he will arrange everything. Now, that I have given all detailed feedback, i do not think there is any need for a phone call. All the best. Dear Mr. Sanjeev Tanwar, If all goes as planned, Simikot to Kailash and back to Simikot will take about 6 or 7 days ONLY... Actually, Simikot to Kailash Journey is a big bottle neck due to poor weather and 99% of the times, flights would be delayed. So, you must take atleast two days extra, means be ready to spend for 8 days instead of 6 days..If God willing, when you come back in 6 days, you will be happy and if it takes 8 days, you would not fret and fume. Finally, philosophically speaking, In Kailash Journey - Planning will NOT work. you must leave every thing to God and be single minded.. Prayers, Prayers and Prayers alone can MAKE IT HAPPEN, leave alone making it happen as per YOUR PLAN.. That should not be your aim at all. One must pray for Good Dharshan, very basic facilities, not falling sick and returning safely. That is all. Karthick - the reason I uploaded my experience in RUclips is to create more awareness and give people the virtual experience of going to Kailash. For achieving that objective, I realized that it is NOT enough if I simply upload my video and leave it. That is why I did a voice over spending one whole week of my busy schedule. Hello Madam - 19,800 for horse for 3 days and porter is a good rate. You please agree to it. Calculation is 600 yuan per day per horse for 3 days and probably balance 100 yuan is for porter. To me it’s okay.

How to apply permit tell me a detailed process to make a another video
Jeeva Palanisamy - Normally it’s cheaper to apply China / Tibet permit thru a Tour operator like ShankarTreks.com else it would be costly, time consuming and effort hungry work.
Video can be made easily sir.. first keep taking video or photo of all interesting things on the tour.. keep listening to the stories and read all notice boards, watch several RUclips videos and listen to elders..
Gather all the data and present it as you like orally.. record it first..
Then bring the supporting videos to back your commentary. If no video, use photos. But try to be authentic..
Be yourself and tell your story..
Use some simple editing software like PowerDirector to make videos.. That is all 🙏

My detailed suggestions / clarifications for most frequently raised question by Yatris, repeated for every one's benefit.
Let me try to share my views on the most frequently asked by yatris. I may be wrong and please apply your mind well and do not just follow my view.. Okay? On that basis, let me share my views:
1. Now in 2017, only route to Kailash is via flight from NepalGunj to Simikot and Helicopter from Simikot to Hilsa and reach Taltakot at TIbet. It usuallly costs about 1.75 lacs with Shankartreks.com, the operator I went with. This is on Kathmandu to Kathmandu basis including all travel, hotel stay and Food. Air ticket from any where in India to Kathmandu is extra. This would be roughly 20,000 or if you book in advance may be 15000. All other costs like shopping, tips, mobile phone recharges, some small snacks etc. will be another 10,000. If due to bad weather, if the tour gets extended by one or two days, tour operators will charge about 3000 rupees extra per day per person and you should be prepared to pay that.
2. The payment for Horse is about 27000 Rupees extra and Rs. 9000 for the Porter extra. Horse man will not do the job of porter and will not allow any one to carry bag when they sit on the horse. But if some is super fit, they can walk by themselves and carry their luggage. But usually, 90% of people will hire horse and porter, especially people who are older than 55 years. The challenge is not NORMAL WALKING ABILITY IN YOUR HOMETOWN. The BIG challenge we usually would face is BREATHLESSNESS DUE TO HIGH ALTITUDE at Himalayas.
I recommend, if you are planning to go to Kailash, please go as soon as possible, when you are young. For people who are 70 or above, getting China VISA is very difficult and not allowed officially.
3. Officially one can hire horse and porter only for 3 full day basis and it is not available for one day separately. If some one managed to get only for a day or two, then it is their luck and there is no guarantee we will also be lucky.. Even people requiring horse and porter for ALL 3 days, should make reservation by paying 100% money to the tour operator at least 2 days before the Parikrama. This was the requirement of www.shankartreks.com, the operator we went with.
4. Tour operator will not be able to assist on photo or video. you have to manage all by yourself.
5.Food will be very very basic food and no diet food will be provided. When we went with www.Shankartreks.com they provided freshly prepared food in time at all places. Food was no problem at all. But different operator, may be different standard may apply.
6. Credit card is of NO USE and you need to carry USD only.. that also, in China, you need to change to Chinese money or you can pay in dollars itself.
7. Basis my experience, people need original medical certificate and for your own safety. Even if the Chinese authorities give visa for people older than 60 to go to Kailash, they will not allow you to do the parikrama even by horse.. During June 2016, six people died and due to that they stopped all yatris who were older than 60 years from doing parikrama suddenly.. Such things will happen.
In fact, many people older than in our group, lost a lot of money paid for the horse and the porter in advance ! Even if you get visa, you may be able only see Kailash and may not be able to do the Parikrama. You should be prepared for this.
Finally, we all can ask a lot questions.. But the actual answer is only with Lord Shiva.. No one can answer anything with surety.. Be confident and be positive and Pray, Pray and Pray.. That is all. when he invites you, he will arrange everything.
Now, that I have given all detailed feedback, i do not think there is any need for a phone call. All the best.

If all goes as planned, Simikot to Kailash and back to Simikot will take about 6 or 7 days ONLY...
Actually, Simikot to Kailash Journey is a big bottle neck due to poor weather and 99% of the times, flights would be delayed.
So, you must take atleast two days extra, means be ready to spend for 8 days instead of 6 days..If God willing, when you come back in 6 days, you will be happy and if it takes 8 days, you would not fret and fume.
Finally, philosophically speaking, In Kailash Journey - Planning will NOT work. you must leave every thing to God and be single minded.. Prayers, Prayers and Prayers alone can MAKE IT HAPPEN, leave alone making it happen as per YOUR PLAN.. That should not be your aim at all.
One must pray for Good Dharshan, very basic facilities, not falling sick and returning safely. That is all.
I am sure you will appreciate my point of view, once you return after your first visit.

Karthick - the reason I uploaded my experience in RUclips is to create more awareness and give people the virtual experience of going to Kailash.
For achieving that objective, I realized that it is NOT enough if I simply upload my video and leave it. That is why I did a voice over spending one whole week of my busy schedule.
