I have to say Nick that your maintenance videos are a strong point of the channel. Very calm and precise delivery of what to do and look out for.
I didn't expect a small dog in the tool kit🐶 @1:16🤗
I appreciate that!
My Monkey will be picked up at dealership next week. This video gonna help with the initial setup. Hear nothing but good things about this bike. Thanks for the tutorial.
Enjoy, good times ahead ! Thanks for watching and commenting
These are good videos to show us more about the detail, quality and ownership of the Monkey.
Yeah not many youtubers do this, i personally like seeing tool kits and under the seat of various motorcycles,
SUPER helpful!
Great video. Just got mine
Awesome. Enjoy bud!
I love this Bike and this VDO Clip.
I love this comment
Great video Nick. Making the bike fit you is a must for all riders, and everyone can do it.
Any plans for customisation of the bike in regards of parts, other of those already done?
I would like to get an exhaust system for it, but waiting for the first service to be done (that im of course going to film lol)
Hi Nick - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I've done 11,000 miles on my 2020 4 speed model. Its a fantastic machine and a real workhorse. Modifications I've done have been carrier, handlebar clock, cush puppy handlebar grips and front mudguard extension. I had a small topbox fitted but it cracked the carrier so I now have an Oxford canvas bag, which is ideal. Negatives are ridiculously soft rear shocks and wooden feeling brakes. I have recently fitted EBC sintered pads and the difference in performance and feedback is extraordinary. Replacement shocks will be ordered when in stock. I bought a second chain and swap them over every 1000 miles, cleaning them then boiling them in appropriate grease. I've found it vital to maintain correct chain tension, which at 35mm slack appeared too loose at first. I also change the oil every 1000 miles and inspect the magnetic sump plug I fitted. I've averaged 153mpg from new although the speedometer is 4mph optimistic at 50 so the odometer is therefore inaccurate also.
Thank you so much for such a great comment, this help lots of others including me! Cheers !
Great video! What is the luggage rack that you have fitted?
EBay special. Does the job !
great video, thank you. looks very easy to make adjustments. Question for you or to any of your viewers, how much has servicing cost on a yearly basis? any unreliability issues at all with the bike?
Hi, this model year is the best one to own, with improvements from the older models, so its a lot more reliable (not that the previous version wasn't) service cost is cheap, about £110 main dealer, or do it yourself for a fraction of that, i will be posting a detailed video of the service being done in the near future
@@nicksepisode thanks nick, i look forward to that video.
I’ve owned my 2022 Monkey for 10 months with 5000 km on the clock. I love it! No issues at all! First service coming up. All I’ve done is change oil and tightened chain twice. I’ve added a rack, back box to store helmet and gloves for when I go into shops, a foot stand plate for parking on mud and a handle bar clock. I would recommend a new better quality chain. Enjoy!
@@StagvanHeuten cheers buddy
This video is a metaphor.
Hi Nick, where do you have the gearlever from if I may ask. Thnx
Buy it here www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405009105618?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_QCxPrBSSWS&sssrc=2051273&ssuid=_QCxPrBSSWS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Also recommend 6 point socket over just any old socket.
Great tip
6point is way to go buy right buy once.
1:15 Dog not included? Friggen Honda making us buy extras..lol
lol!
Have you any tips for altering the suspension? I’m thinking of adjusting mine to try it a bit more stiffer.
Non of the suspension is adjustable
@@nicksepisode Ah ok, was unaware of that, thanks
What good is the fuse puller if you have no fuses?
There are fuses under the lid
@@nicksepisode ahhh ok. I have a chance to buy a 2021 with 833mi for 4000, do you think it's to much? It is in perfect shape. Thank you. Great video..
You forgot to mention the little dog that came in the tool kit!
My doggies are part of the health and safety team
Get a Tutoro chain oiler as the stock chains are not the best 😌👍🏻
Good shout, thanks
I've put one on my 24 plate Grom and 22 plate Xadv 750 👍🏻
If the Battery Screws are loose your Mechanic was drunk in the first place. The Dealer has to install the Battery Cable on a new Bike they are off during Transport for safety. And cuddle the Safety Inspector from us
Lots of cuddles !
The chain doesn't seem too loose, about 3-4 cm, maybe my perception is wrong.
Hard to tell on a video
Love a monkey 👌
So much fun!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is it easy to get in the house 😂
Yes have a look at one of out previous video where I ride it out the house !
Cheers only asking as insurance is a bugger but said it would be in the house still high though
@brianmooney7070 yeah insurance is high, bike sure was the best for us
