They lack windows games but they have nearly everything for doing real life business. Their efficiency don't come from not being able to run software. They run a lot of demanding software. M1 is just some amazingly efficient chip. All these comparisons need to note that this chip draws in like 1/5th of the power while putting similar amount of work.
Any benchmarks one battery? What's amazing about the M1 laptops is no performance hit on battery vs AC. Put the G14 on battery and you are either stuck with the Vega iGPU or pulling 30 W with the discrete GPU.
I’ve been using the M1 for video editing and some light gaming and my god it’s quiet. I have it on a raised tray and I’ve literally never heard the fan come on with hours of video rendering in final cut. Had some problems with dongles working though, so if you can suggest one that doesn’t bug out SD cards (had a reader that has actually corrupted photos) or external SSD’s I sure would appreciate it.
Just got a 2021 G14 about a week ago .....I also recently stopped looking for a gaming PC !!! Its amazing how many boxes this dam thing checks !!! Only complaint is gaming on battery alone sucks the battery dry QUICK!!!
I listened about some problems. 1. Most of the time fingerprint sensor not working in singel touch. 2. Keyboard lights are very poor. 3. Display brightness is very poor. 4. Due to mate body too much heating on keyboard. Is this problem are true?
Most of these problems can be fixed with some adjustments. The keyboard lights are horrible, there is no fix for it. You can fix the chassis getting too hot by editing your fan curves in armory crate (ASUS Software). I saw in a g15 review that the brightness is low on that particular panel, but I’ve never heard anyone complain that it was too low on the 14 inch models. I’ve also never seen anyone have any real issues with fingerprint scanners, although I could see it happening with someone who has worked all of their lives in a manual labor job. My fathers hands hardly work with some touch screens due to his fingerprints being rubbed off almost entirely on some fingers.
That's on the 2020 version of the G14. This is the 2021. Which based on my research they've fixed all of those (except for the body heat, I don't know about that).
Just got the G14 and its the best pc ive ever owned and at max settings for most games it crushes, i see fps numbers that i thought were impossible lol. I turn it on just to admire it lol

It depends on what software you use. If it’s anything made by apple (Final Cut, Logic, etc) I would say yes. I prefer my intel based 15” MacBook Pro from 2019 as it is more well-rounded overall and has a dedicated graphics card for rendering.
Just ordered a G14 myself. I think they get their battery life numbers by only using the integrated GPU on silent mode, which I should say is just fine for browsing and typing.

I just don't understand how anyone would buy a Macbook Pro over a G14. The latest Macbook Pro with M2 chip starts at $1,999 with 16 GB RAM 512 GB SSD. [ 1TB model is $2,500] The latest G14 starts at $1,299 with 16 GB RAM, 1 TB GB SSD, Ryzen 9, 12 GB RTX Nvidia 3060. Projects that would take 3+ hours to render in After Effects on my MBP only takes about 15 minutes on my 2020 G14.

I really love my Asus but I’m excited to dip my toes into the Mac world. (I have an iPhone and an iPad. So it’s not completely foreign). I really love your videos!!
Makes me wish Razer would go AMD, and that Asus would go with a 16:10 screen ratio. The ROG Flow X13 or Legion 5 Pro are the ones I'm leaning towards more due to that.
What is your suggestion on buying FHD 300Hz vs QHD 165Hz (asus rog strix scar 17 2021) as a Architecture student and also a good gaming lover which one should i go for?
I would go for QHD 165Hz. It will be hard to push 300 FPS on new games and will be very hot if you manage to do it somehow. Plus watching 2.7k youtube videos is way better than 1080p. Too bad it doesn't have UHD display I would buy it in a hard beat
yes like everyone previously stated just go for QHD 165HZ, 300Hz only matters for esports pros, QHD 165Hz is good for both gaming and PRODUCTIVITY which is not the case for FHD + you have to check (color accuracy "srgb" of both models and delay ms it is really important) 100% srgb >>>>>>>>>>>>65% srgb and delay ms matters too.
I think he's clearly focused on portability - G15 is great, but it's a pound heavier and bigger. This is all about loving ultrabook size computers. I tend to agree, once you go to 15.6", portability is reduced severely. I know many may disagree, but ultrabooks just rock because it's amazing the amount of power inside.
G15 (RTX 3070 model) is a beast. About 9,300 in TimeSpy for graphics. However, I returned mine and got the G14. I also like sitting around the house different places and typing away. And the keyboard on the G15 is not as good as the G14, and the portability is a huge difference (more than you'd think) between the G15 and G14.

You can do the one cable stunt with the G14 as well? I really don't know what " extra steps" are you talking about?
Any benchmarks one battery? What's amazing about the M1 laptops is no performance hit on battery vs AC. Put the G14 on battery and you are either stuck with the Vega iGPU or pulling 30 W with the discrete GPU.
so you really need to plug the charger to the g14 to get the maximum performance? like everywhere??
Time stamps would really help..
Recently pickup the Asus Zephyrus g14 a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. Great compact powerhouse.
Are there any negatives on your G14 yet?
Can I rum cinema 4d in zephrus 14
So I can't connect G14 with one usbc cable to my monitor with PD and use mouse+keyboard connected to monitor?
I’ve been using the M1 for video editing and some light gaming and my god it’s quiet. I have it on a raised tray and I’ve literally never heard the fan come on with hours of video rendering in final cut.
Had some problems with dongles working though, so if you can suggest one that doesn’t bug out SD cards (had a reader that has actually corrupted photos) or external SSD’s I sure would appreciate it.
What is the longevity of G14? MacBooks I know have a reputation of a long lifespan, is this the same with Asus G14?
@@logan62097 thanks bro
That's on the 2020 version of the G14. This is the 2021. Which based on my research they've fixed all of those (except for the body heat, I don't know about that).

I have a 10-year old HP EliteBook 8460p with 16GB RAM from 2011. I'm still using it today, and I only paid like $340 on CL for it.
Dell 7520 se from 2011 is still up and running for me.. can still do work stuff and occasionally play AAA games in low-medium settings even after 10 years
Got a ThinkPad back in 2011. Still running awesome.
Asus x550c from 2012, still running
Please do a G14 RAM performance comparison between 8+8GB dual memory vs 8+32GB memory
Yes, please. I just bought mine and i was wondering if this upgrade its worth it
Yes, this is the video k want to see. Loss of dual channel impact would be interesting during video editing or gaming
I would not buy a windows laptop with less than 16gb nowadays. Right now I have mail and microsoft edge open and its using 3.5 gb.
With 8+32GB in flex mode you would have 16GB in dual channel and 24GB in single channel. For gaming you shouldn't notice a difference because games still don't need more than 16GB
Thank you for making these comparisons.

But a funny thing is, I had to use my M1 Macbook Pro for work. I used a dongle(for external monitor) and all my work I did via Safari. Well the battery was empty in half time.... Don't know why... I am also selling my M1 mac now, because I just bought the Zephyrus
Great video. However, I think you overstate the advantages of Thunderbolt 3/4 in 2021. Four years ago, Thunderbolt was a big advantage. However, there are now great USB-C 3.2 docks and dongles available that match most of the advantages of Thunderbolt. Thank you!
As a gamer, That G14 is already a better gaming machine than any Mac I’ve touched. It doesn’t make sense to me, all that power but Macbooks game for sh!!t
You can actually getting a 20 hrs of battery life in macbook since you can't do gaming on that machine lmao

Where can I find the gray 2021 Zephyrus G14?
That's what I've been asking as well!!! Gray would be the best.
i just got mine at my best buy in IL.. The only one they had too 😱
I have both. I use the G14 for gaming and the M1 for editing. They are both amazing pieces of top shelf engineering.
is the m1 more good for editing?
It depends on what software you use. If it’s anything made by apple (Final Cut, Logic, etc) I would say yes. I prefer my intel based 15” MacBook Pro from 2019 as it is more well-rounded overall and has a dedicated graphics card for rendering.
Just ordered a G14 myself. I think they get their battery life numbers by only using the integrated GPU on silent mode, which I should say is just fine for browsing and typing.
This video is great because I have the MacBook Pro and was considering buying the Asus G14 as well, in order to have a gaming machine. lol. It's just funny seeing a video with the exact 2 computers I am considering in my life.

I just don't understand how anyone would buy a Macbook Pro over a G14.
The latest Macbook Pro with M2 chip starts at $1,999 with 16 GB RAM 512 GB SSD. [ 1TB model is $2,500]
The latest G14 starts at $1,299 with 16 GB RAM, 1 TB GB SSD, Ryzen 9, 12 GB RTX Nvidia 3060. Projects that would take 3+ hours to render in After Effects on my MBP only takes about 15 minutes on my 2020 G14.
Because everyone praise the battery life, if macbook have a better GPU at least like RTX, its 100% perfect
I have the G14 Ryzen 9 4900 series and just got a MacBook Pro because I want to dabble in the Mac OS world after basically using PCs since I was 6 years old. I really love my Asus but I’m excited to dip my toes into the Mac world. (I have an iPhone and an iPad. So it’s not completely foreign). I really love your videos!!
Makes me wish Razer would go AMD, and that Asus would go with a 16:10 screen ratio. The ROG Flow X13 or Legion 5 Pro are the ones I'm leaning towards more due to that.
legion 5 pro keyboard and mousepad placemend sucks tho
Zephyrus M16 has 16:10 but no amd

What is your suggestion on buying FHD 300Hz vs QHD 165Hz (asus rog strix scar 17 2021) as a Architecture student and also a good gaming lover which one should i go for?
I would go for QHD 165Hz. It will be hard to push 300 FPS on new games and will be very hot if you manage to do it somehow. Plus watching 2.7k youtube videos is way better than 1080p. Too bad it doesn't have UHD display I would buy it in a hard beat
144hz+ is only super competitive gamers,
QHD display other hand can notice everyone
yes like everyone previously stated just go for QHD 165HZ, 300Hz only matters for esports pros, QHD 165Hz is good for both gaming and PRODUCTIVITY which is not the case for FHD + you have to check (color accuracy "srgb" of both models and delay ms it is really important) 100% srgb >>>>>>>>>>>>65% srgb and delay ms matters too.
im a electronics engineering student what should i choose
Why did you get the G14 over the G15?
I think he's clearly focused on portability - G15 is great, but it's a pound heavier and bigger. This is all about loving ultrabook size computers. I tend to agree, once you go to 15.6", portability is reduced severely. I know many may disagree, but ultrabooks just rock because it's amazing the amount of power inside.
Cheaper, Smaller, more portable and pretty much it delivers the same performance
@@usafballer79 That makes sense, but is it any good for gaming on or anything?
@@OmegaWaffle1235 The G14? Yes, it definitely is good for gaming, especially at its size and price

I think MacBook will best suit your needs. The portability, efficiency, and longevity of the laptop should be more than enough. If you were to game, just build your own pc as gaming laptops don’t typically last half a decade and performs worse due to stress load on the battery/chip. Just my opinion
