Angra are great. I love your picks. I’ve seen them twice if I recall. Once with Edu and once with Fabio. I’ve seen Matos live but as a solo band. I love Temple Of Shadows a lot too. Their recent album Ømni is one of my faves. I used to really love the Matos era but I rarely reach for that stuff now. Great vid!
Sry to say .. but i didnt even know they existed.. all three albums on my phone now.. Maybe they will become my new Band for 2021 like UtA was for 2020.. thanks for introducing them to me.. Cheers (tc n be safe)
Adorei o top 3 e não poderia concordar mais. Eu conheci o Angra pelo Rebirth e foi paixão a primeira "escutada" Running Alone foi a canção arrebatadora. Temple of shadows é uma obra de arte e impressionante. Eu tive medo do Omni, medo do Angra acabar virando um cover dele mesmo algo que passou longe de acontecer. Belo vídeo. Ps : Chapéu maneirismo do Rafa xD.

I discovered Angra just after Fireworks was released. I was blown away by it and grabbed all their albums, found a couple of bootleg concerts, then heard that a third of the band left. Not a good sign when a band breaks like that. Rebirth comes out a year later and WOW,! Fantastic comeback! I finally got to see them at Progpower 3 in Atlanta, Georgia. and they did not disappoint. They really forged a unique sound of Brazilian, classical metal that stands out from the pack. Sorry to say but I can't pick a Top 3 because they are just that kind of band.
Surprised by your number one pick. My would be picks in from 3 to 1 order Angels Cry, Temple of Shadows and Holy Land. The latter being the first album I bought from them. I immediately bought Angels Cry which were their only two releases at the time. I was a massive Matos (RIP)fan. I even tracked down the two albums he did vocals on for his previous band Viper which weren’t easy to get in Canada at the time. As an aside they are really good power metal albums. I like all the era’s of Angra no matter who is in the band Angra sounds like Angra. One of my favourite power metal band of all time.
What a great comment. Yes, Angra just sounds like Angra, regardless of the era. That is largely due to Rafael's composing style and abilities, I would say, and Kiko's as well.
Temples of Shadows is my favorite from Angra. Waiting Silence always give me some of the hype and life from this sunlight that I think you're talking about 🙏 same as Land of Immortals from Rhapsody of Fyre. Like a first spring morning 🌞 The cover from Omni (still haven't heard it 👀) gives me Attack on Titan vibes! In any case, I am interested to go listen to Caveman as soon as I finish the video. Euu vou contando os dias, e já já não tenho medo. Eu lhe peço, eu lhe imploro, quando a minha hora chegar, meu descanso minha paz..... ❤️
Lista interessante. Pelo que vejo o Omni não é muito querido pelos fãs, mas legal alguém com uma opinião diferente. Também gosto muito da voz do Rafael, mas as músicas que ele faz voz principal não me agradam muito. Meu álbum favorito é Rebirth, o timbre que o Edu tinha na época, somado a todo o sentimento que foi colocado nas músicas (devido ao período que passaram) o eternizaram como uma obra prima.
