I have watched hundreds of wood working vids... And this is by far my favorite so far. The work is amazing, the narration is strangely soothing, and has that high school shop class tutorial feel... So nostalgic... You are truly the Bob Ross of wood working... 👏👏👏
The thing I appreciated the most was your unique style of humour making a project fun! Mankind is often discouraged from doing things out of their comfort zone, like myself, and when I hear some different blends of funny bits I feel like trying the project. Thank you for making this video fun!
I use my woodworking as my "sanity sawdust". I have a full time job and it's projects like this in my woodshop that keeps me alive. Thanks for a great video!
Ha ha. “Annual visit to the gym...” Another great video! Both boards are just stunning! I love that subtle curve you cut in the end. Really nice touch!
I showed a pic of your board to my daughter-in-law. She said “YES!!!, I love it!!,” Hope mine will look as good as yours. Really enjoy your content and have learned a lot from you. Thanks!
You will try to make one? I admire even the will to try.. I could propably just make something that looked like a cheap copy with my fingerspitzgefühl....
The best thing about these videos is that you learn so many small but very useful tricks. How to plane a board that is uneven on both sides for example. Stick it on an even board! Never thought of that, genius! I was too busy watching your tools till I got to the end, and went, wow! How'd he do that? Spectacular artistry!!!
Thank you for showing the mistake clips at the end. As a beginning woodworker, it can be overwhelming seeing pros giving great advice and creating amazing pieces. It’s encouraging to see someone with experience making the same mistakes I do.
Awesome project!!! I got a lot of ideas. My particular favorite moments were when you took the clamps off and piled them on the bench in high speed. Good twist!!!
You have good way of putting in your sponsor in a natural and unobtrusive way. You're pretty funny and make a wonderful product. I'm gonna go check out your other videos
Your one of the most talented people at making something really cool by just "winging it" I'd hit the like button twice if it was possible. Amazing job bro 👍
If ever you feel you have had enough of woodworking. You could definitely have a career in narrating children’s books. Amazing soothing voice. The cutting board is out of this world too.
I don't do wookworking myself, but it's the comments like "Then i got really drunk, and i drew a perfectly straight line" that makes this content perfect. Thank you for making me laugh
Im from spain. I love your work! And your voice is so soft and well spoken i could perfectly undrstood all what u’ve said. Love ur work! Thank u so much for sharing it with the world
I was thinking that idea would work for a guitar myself. Even if you just made a simple cigar box guitar or if you decide to go all out and make a full sized electric guitar..
Hey man just wanted to tell you that you do amazing work and that board came out looking beautiful.. I subscribed and cant wait to watch more of your content. Plus the added bonus is the comedy show you put on as well, so it's almost like I'm getting a twofer, you know? Keep up the great work man, and I loved when you said you got drunk and drew a straight line. Amazing work and even better jokes. You cant fo wrong with that combination. Thanks man and take it easy!!!!!!
I'm still waiting for my homemade batch of granola lol Love the videos and the humor! One of my favorite RUclipsrs. Not just woodworking RUclipsrs. But RUclipsrs. Keep up the excellent work!
Awesome idea. The funny comments throughout the video were a great touch. I'll definitely be trying this technique soon. Thank you for taking the time to post.
What a great video. Learning how you made the Picasso-like curves appear woven into the board was a lot of fun to watch, and the commentary had me laughing quite a lot. It is VERY RARE that I will subscribe to a channel after only watching one video, but I'll be darned if I wasn't impressed enough to do it here. Looking forward to checking out the rest of your channel!
New subscriber here and I gotta say you are a craftsman and apparently an artist too I love the modern looking lines set into the walnuts natural shades, I'd love this look on a full countertop setup or even a large dining table.
What a fantastic idea! Those boards are gorgeous! One thing that made me tighten my sphincter: the routing. You really don't want to route off more than 1/8" at a time or you run the risk of getting some nasty tear-out and/or the board getting chucked across the room. :)
The only way to make a wide table like that is to pass the nearly finished glued up board through an open-sided thickness sander to get the surfaces even. I make smaller (8x12) "cheese" boards this way. Now I need to try this weaving technique.
I'm currently making one right now and after making my first curved cut I'm so excited by how it looks! One important detail you forgot to mention that I only realised at the last minute myself: When cutting thin strips to go into the curves, they need to be *longer* than the width of the board, because they'll get shorter as you force them into the curve! Very glad I realised this before I chopped an expensive piece of maple to the exact same width as the board to save on waste; I'll be sure to give myself another 40mm or so to work with!
Mike B G'day from Australia. How Clever! Now I need to add a bandsaw to my list of workshop tools, right after I have saved enough for a planer/thicknesser. If I didn't keep filling my cellar with wine, I could probably afford both in a fortnight, but I might then run out of wine... :( Aah... first-world problems
Not only was that masterfully done, it was frickin' hilarious! My favorite line: "My gut has a subtle curve, and my wife still likes me, so I figured she'd like this too."
I started weekend woodworking about a year ago thanks to Steve ramsey and I have to say, in the last year I've been trying to figure out how to fix warped wood and although there are thousands of videos on RUclips explaining just how to do it, watching your first steps to fixing your first board made it so clear to me after a year of trying to figure it out. Thank you so much!

Those bloopers weren't mistakes, they were happy little accidents.

@@craigshrimpton5765 Except for safety issues, woodworkers don't make mistakes, they just change the design. :-)
wayched 100s myself , its bout time i got stuck into making something , this one looks a lot les fuss than endgrain boards

Aah.. The 'sawdust snuff'...The problem is 'This' becomes full time and your present 'full time' will become a burden😂!
Ha ha. “Annual visit to the gym...” Another great video! Both boards are just stunning! I love that subtle curve you cut in the end. Really nice touch!

Nice looking boards! I really like the end bloopers that shows we all mess up sometimes!🤣😅😜
Yeah, everyone messes up sometimes.
"I got really drunk and drew a perfectly straight line" 😂🤣
That comment alone earned a Sub & Bell notification
Hehehe. That's exactly what I did too.
I agree. If only it wasn't followed with 'Then I headed over to the bandsaw.'
Mine was at the end when he said if you subscribe he might send a complimentary batch of homemade granola.

Wow, that is so cool about this method to make a unique style of myself, and this is so simple to me, that is no need too many step to design .
Glad it was helpful!

You sir explain just enough detail I can follow along but not so much I'm bored. Great teaching, I look forward to making one of these myself!
Thank you very much!
love your videos with your talk, unlike the crappy music filled others the other guys put out/ awesome work!
Thanks 👍
this was absolutely one of the most genius videos on wood craftsmanship I have watched - and I have watched a LOT of them!
Thank you for showing the mistake clips at the end. As a beginning woodworker, it can be overwhelming seeing pros giving great advice and creating amazing pieces. It’s encouraging to see someone with experience making the same mistakes I do.

Nice! Reminds me of Art Deco. Love the humour!
Thank you! Cheers!
I like what you've achieved so much (and I like your delivery style), that I have watched the whole thing, without skipping, more than once.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks

Nobody with a shop of any kind saw that flip and didn't go "Woaaaahhhh.... PLAY IT AGAIN!"
Absolutely gorgeous!
And you are so funny!
Don't know if I could ever cut anything on these, I'd rather hang them up and just admire them!
Thank you!
Thanks! :)
Awesome project!!! I got a lot of ideas. My particular favorite moments were when you took the clamps off and piled them on the bench in high speed. Good twist!!!

Good to see the outtake!! I’m new to woodworking and feel so defeated seeing only perfect works online as I make mistakes ALL THE TIME
You have good way of putting in your sponsor in a natural and unobtrusive way. You're pretty funny and make a wonderful product. I'm gonna go check out your other videos
Thank you so much!
I saw one of these on instagram and couldn't wrap my head around how the person did it, glad I stumbled across your video.
Glad I could help!
Love the use of the thin strips, they really make it look beautiful, excellent job....
Thanks for the Outtakes. Shows that even pros can make the same mistakes as I do :)
You bet. Glad you enjoyed it
These are absolutely gorgeous. I can see using this to make a really nice table and chairs set, would make an awesome dinning table.
These turned out really neat!!!
That is the prettiest cutting board I have ever seen, thanks for the video.
This would make a superb guitar top. I think I will give it a try one day.
Great idea! Would like to see how it turns out!
Very cool project, but what really caught my eye was that swiveling sanding station, pretty nifty!
Thank you, great master of wood work! Greetings from Sweden, Stockholm.
Came for the woodworking, subscribed for the commentary 😂 thank you 🙏🏼

That was great. I am about to make my daughter a "ladies writing desk" and I will make the top with this technique now. thanks for the share.
Love how you draw a pencil line and then don’t use it when sawing. Great vid
You have to remember that he was drunk while he drew that straight line so it's more like a guideline instead of strict rule anyway.
I'm not sure what's better... the finished product, our your voiceover! Nice work!

It's probable that some of his are too, but they would result in demonetisation and or de-sponsorship.. right Drew? lol
Gene, are you suggesting Mr. Fisher might be dubbing the audio for the out takes, in studio, after the fact? It makes perfect sense, if you are.
