Thank you Cantor Azi Schwarz, This is so joyful and beautiful. It reminded me of some psalms, praise God with songs and dancing. I am not Jewish but I visited Israel, prayed at the Kotel and participated in the Sabbath there. What a great experience, renewed now as I watched this video. Shalom!
The beautiful smiles as everyone joins in just shows such beautiful joy and unity! It is a very beautiful tune even if I can't understand Hebrew shalom 💙⭐ 🤗
Cantor Schwartz's joyful L'Kha Dodi puts a smile on my face every morning. I can overlook the few pitch problems as I get lost in the gorgeous music of Ovinu Malkeinu, Jerusalem of Gold, and so many more familiar and unfamiliar melodies. An extra-special standout is Adon Olam, sung to George III's aria from the musical Hamilton. This collection of Jewish music is priceless and simply adds to my pride in my Jewish heritage. And no, I am not what one would consider "of the younger generation" (at least not age-wise - 84). Musically and emotionally I continue to grow with the music and hope never to reject anything as being for the younger crowd. The old quote applies:" I know what I like" , and age has nothing to do with it. Those who close their minds to the new and different may well be missing a special experience. Keep singing, Azi.
Rebbe Yoelish blessed my dad when they were in Bergen Belsen as survivors on Kastners train My dad is still alive at 89 and will see his granddaughter marry tomorrow

Hello everyone I love listing to Azi Schwartz he is bless with a wonderful voice. I have a question hopefully someone can answer me please. I notice during the service everyone turn around and face the back. Please tell me why they do it and what does it mean please?
it's an early Kabbalist song called L'cha Dodi (come my beloved). It is a welcoming song for the Shabbat bride. We turn to the rear of the sanctuary to welcome (the bride) metaphorically.
The melody is from the Broadway show, "Hamilton". The same person, Shalom Aleichem, attributed with being the genius who wrote both Lecha Dodi and Adon Olam, wrote both poems in such a rhythm that they can and are sung to any melody imaginable. Try it! It's fun!
Len Schwartz The melody is not from Hamilton... ( that was Adon Olam from other clip of Azi) This is an original composing for Lecha dodi by Oran Eldor. It is written in the description of the video. Read it.
It is a welcoming song for the Shabat, in song referred to as "kalah"-the bride. They turn to the rear of the synagogue to welcome Shabat, metaphorically the bride. Lechah dodi, likrat kalah - Come my beloved to welcome the bride (the Shabat) Penei shabat nekabelah - We will welcome the Shabat
they turn to face the rear in order to welcome the bride sabbath, who is entering the sanctuary..... instruments are not prohibited per se . but many, especially orthodox ,don't allow,so that if the instrument has malfunction such as broken string , there is no temptation to repair . repair is the problem ,not instrument....
Yet the Conservative approach is that the infusion of music with cantorial music enriched the experience. If it means there is a congregation this large coming together then the problem shouldn’t be whether they use instruments or not.
tell this to Maimonides ,Maran Shulchan Aruch,if you thinking that you don't make a sin by sitting next to the woman while you're praying, you're a fool.
KevinRCFree28 Oye vey! Fanaticism is what is destroying Judaism and faith in Ha Shem in general. I can't think of a better time to share with my Dodi then on shul. Ani l'dodi v'dodi li!
Because for some communities and lines of Judaism it is perfectly fine, and sometimes recommended, for men and women to sit together or however they feel more comfortable
ponyguy99 what could be more Shabbat-like than 2000 Jewish people joining together and welcoming The Kallah into their shul, their hearts, and their homes?
What's not "SHABBAT LIKE"? The part that everyone is rejoicing in Ha Shem's gift to ALL humans and animals of a day of rest? The joy of the congregation in celebrating the beauty of The Kallah? Or, perhaps that instead of being at home watching TV, with the kids at the mall, or whatever, families are together enjoying MISPACHAH and RUACH of being Jewish? Ya kinda got me on that "Shabbos like" thing! Halacha... OK you may have a point. But, what do you think HE wants more? Kids and parents together in Shul or in the malls or wherever on Shabbat? Shulchan Aruch needs to reconvene for the 21st century!
Hi there- not all Jews subscribe to the same hair rituals. Reform, Conservative and Modern Orthodox clergy often have their own agency in this department!
Thanks to RUclips I am able to view the insides of what appears to be a messianic Xtian church. I'm glad, though, that they did not pervert L'cha Dodi by also welcoming "jason" to their "sabbath" service.
Boi Khalah! ---- oh yes, one day Jews will recognize how Rome tried to push them away through incomplete translation of rav Shaul letters....and they will see EMMANU-EL:))
HaShem is not a man, that He could be humiliated by anything man does. Do you not even *read* your Tanakh?? HaShem is entirely unaffected by man's actions. To suggest otherwise is tantamount to blasphemy.
I am not Jewish but I love Cantor azi Schwartz and the music and I love the Jewish people
Mi too 🥰🇧🇷🇮🇱
Very good ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am dreaming of the time I will be in presence in our synagogue, seeing our beloved Cantor Azi, and the whole Staff of our PAS. Community
And pray to be in the PRESENCE OF HASHEM
Awesome... Shabat Shalom from Rio!

Just love the joy expressed. Welcome to the Shabbat should be joyful....it is the best time of the week! Shana tova
The beautiful smiles as everyone joins in just shows such beautiful joy and unity! It is a very beautiful tune even if I can't understand Hebrew shalom 💙⭐ 🤗
As a Cantor myself....Cantor Schwartz is incredible He brings music to liturgy and that makes all congregants tied to Judaism....

It is symbolic of welcoming the Sabbath Bride
It's become broadway!!
🥰🥰🥰
😍😍😍
Who wrote this melody? It's wonderful.

My bad! I was actually commenting on Adon Olam and must have entered it in the wrong window! My apologies, chuchum.
amazing-just what we need right now-be positive-its the jewish way-stay safe and well-arny gilberg
wow. different! i'm not so sure the older folks . . . .
Not so much 'older folks' - more of tunes with centuries of tradition behind them that matter...
Why did they turn around?
It is a welcoming song for the Shabat, in song referred to as "kalah"-the bride. They turn to the rear of the synagogue to welcome Shabat, metaphorically the bride.
Lechah dodi, likrat kalah - Come my beloved to welcome the bride (the Shabat)
Penei shabat nekabelah - We will welcome the Shabat
Why don't u read about the song and find out ...
they turn to face the rear in order to welcome the bride sabbath, who is entering the sanctuary.....
instruments are not prohibited per se . but many, especially orthodox ,don't allow,so that if the instrument has malfunction such as broken string , there is no temptation to repair . repair is the problem ,not instrument....
And such a prohibition maintains the full force of law as if the Torah itself banned it. So yes, instruments are prohibited.
Yet the Conservative approach is that the infusion of music with cantorial music enriched the experience. If it means there is a congregation this large coming together then the problem shouldn’t be whether they use instruments or not.
What tune is this?
😮
Why did the congregation stand up and face towards the back?
In the last verse, you stand to face the sanctuary doors to welcome in the Shabbat. :)
Hmmmm. Wow! Did I hear a tambourine???
Yup! And nothing in Halacha against it, either! The microphones and electic use, well, that's another story. I still think this is great, though!
looks like pre Covid attendance. I miss that.
Nothing is as fine as prizing Adonai
Why are men and woman sitting together in the Synagogue?
It depends of the comunity minchag. In my synagogue is the same.
because they live in the real world, not dark ages,!
tell this to Maimonides ,Maran Shulchan Aruch,if you thinking that you don't make a sin by sitting next to the woman while you're praying, you're a fool.

Kami sederhana tapi tuhan kami jidu
They don't know how to truly whorship. He's trying to lead them but they are bond.
It's like a revival......singing in schul is good, but the melodies don't seem Shabbos-like .
ponyguy99 what could be more Shabbat-like than 2000 Jewish people joining together and welcoming The Kallah into their shul, their hearts, and their homes?

Where they violate shabbat by using instruments and microphones
Times change believes stay, what you alter doesn't mean it becomes less
A little too theatrical for me......(he puts on a good show)
Not a show at all. Leading a congregation comes in many forms. I always enjoy services at PAS.
I agree with You
Shalom
Leva dôdi, hag Sameach 🇮🇱✡🇮🇱🕎🖖🖖
why did they cut their beards off?
Hi there- not all Jews subscribe to the same hair rituals. Reform, Conservative and Modern Orthodox clergy often have their own agency in this department!
Não se pode torcer o nariz para os "shows " dos cultos gospel ou negros...ou mesmos os evangélicos. Não é diferente no culto judaico...
well... i'm not sure...
You cant use a microphone on shabbat. Thats pretty ironic no?
It is still difficult being Jew. But it is also proudfull.
Thanks to RUclips I am able to view the insides of what appears to be a messianic Xtian church. I'm glad, though, that they did not pervert L'cha Dodi by also welcoming "jason" to their "sabbath" service.
This is so American :D
נו נו
תפסתי יותר ממך,לא ידעתי שאתה רפורמי
The Antisemitism makes that I cannot observe the Shabbat under Shalom.
Boi Khalah! ---- oh yes, one day Jews will recognize how Rome tried to push them away through incomplete translation of rav Shaul letters....and they will see EMMANU-EL:))
the singer cost a lot of money to keep it
No Kosher😮 This is a copy of Gospel church. Please stop
חילול השם...
HILLUL HASHEM
You are humiliating G-od ...
Please it is not to late to do the Teshuva...
HaShem is not a man, that He could be humiliated by anything man does.
