As an American living in Japan, I really appreciated this week's focus. I too was surprised Fukuzumi went to KCMG, but I assume Toyota didn't know where else to put him. I'm sure we'll see some more good runs from Iwasa, but as you know, Super Formula is a tough series to get established in. I'm with you on Nolan Siegel - he definitely has the talent. I wonder if he could learn more driving for Dale Coyne - McLaren seems like a toxic environment. I hope other teams are looking at Pourchaire I can't think where else he could go to further his single seater credentials. Thank you.
Also, I like your stance on Nolan Siegel, any racing driver in his position would go for that McLaren seat. Shame for Pouchaire, but a driver of his calibre will hopefully fall upwards
Missed this one! Better late than never I guess. I thought Tsuboi drove a blinder of a race, Oyu drove well as well, but Fukuzumi and KCMG. Well, it wasn't Fukuzumi's fault, he drove a great race, but KCMG with that pitstop, oh boy. Iwasa got bogged down in traffic and couldn't recover. I do think he can still get a win this season though. Kobayashi drove a decent race as well, getting a few points. I'm normally quite lukewarm on Fuji when it comes to Super Formula there, but this one was an absorbing race. Toronto, well, what is there to say about the crash? O'Ward's onboard is brutal, a hit from Ericsson, then three hits in quick succession from Fittipaldi, Ferrucci and Siegel in pretty much the same spot. Herta and Kirkwood controlled proceedings throughout though. Dixon and Palou just seem to spawn at the front out of nowhere in these sorts of races, the master and apprentice in consistency. McLaren's spider-man meme tweet with Siegel, Malukas, Pourchaire and I think a cardboard cut-out of Ilott was brilliant though! Sums up the #6 conumdrum really well! Siegel just needs to keep out of trouble in the races I think, which generally he has done, and he's benefitted from any chaos to get some ok midfield results as a result. The pace can be improved of course, but the team will know where he's at and what needs to be worked on.

I'd love to say I can't imagine nobody wants Pourchaire but then again Ilott doesn't have a seat either so I am sceptical.
