Thanks much ! Just screwed up my screen carrying it around. A stupid mistake , but it’s only a screen. Thanks man !!! I never thought about replacing a screen. But you made it so straight forward and easy. Best to you !!!
Great video. Ordered screen replacement directly from dell, watched this video, and completed the installation within 20 min. My plug had a little clip which is not in the video, but figured that out. Forgot to remove the film, so took the frame off again, but was easy. Saved $100+ doing my own install. Thank you!!
Thank you!! My display had been flickering and flashing worse and worse over the years and I finally got fed up and decided to replace my screen. If you hadn't made this video showing how easy it was to do, I would have spent $200 instead of $50 to fix the issue
Will I must say your a life saver. Your video gives good understanding and clear actions how to do everything. This is help ful to me as I bought broken one with bad screen. And now I know how to fix it.
That was so easy installing the new screen. However i noticed the new screen is not as good as the original oem. Oh well, it's an old laptop. Im satisfied with this guy's instruction
To answer the many questions, yes you can replace the regular screen with a FHD screen. If you want the Touch screen one you have to buy it with the bezel or panel too.
yes, i have that situation. The replacement screen is a FHD not a UHD. I Don't know what happened with the OEM screen. it still working but with a black and white shadows. but i saw the liquid of the screen on the left corner.
Thanks for the video, but you obviously ran through this procedure before shooting the video, and you under emphasized the difficulty of the first part (most difficult by far) of removing the front bezel on the screen. For those of you reading this, I am a licensed engineer with lots of experience repairing devices, and I will guide you through this tedious step. First grab a flat blade screw driver or plastic pry tool or even a pop sickle stick cut flat. Close the lid and from the back of the laptop, looking at the hinges, you should see a hard line. This is where the front bezel snaps into the rear cover. Now open the screen to about a 90 degree angle (cross sectional view), and from the back you should still see the line (barely). Use your tool and push in and downward gently and you should see the two pieces separate. Repeat with other side. Now slowly open the screen as far as it will go, and using your tool, lift the hinge cover upward, using a prying motion with your tool from the side of the hinge. Try both sides of the hinge if it doesnt' seem to want to release, because it's tight in there. Eventually, it should release for you. repeat other side, and voila..
Trent Robertson thanks for the tip. It wasn't difficult for me. Maybe mine was faulty, ive always had problems with the hinge on mine. but when I pried apart my bezel the bottom part came right off.
With a plastic pry tool from harbor freight it was very, very easy. I wouldn't recommend anything metal, that way you don't have to be too delicate about it.
Good video. I had the Dell 7559, great specs but I was really disappointed with the touchpad and the screen bleed! Also when I shut the lid the corners wouldn't close completely. Other than that, it was a good laptop.
no, just FHD, the UHD its expensive and de laptop no support that price. i realize that your comment was 3 year ago. :) and me looking information in 2024 about this PC.
Thank u for this video I have this laptop, I have a question about the charger for this and buying a replacement. I need just a plug that goes from the wall to the actual square piece... if u could direct me on how to purchase this I would greatly APPRICIATE it 😊😊😊
Hi thanks for sharing your info. I had a problem that the screen was cut off when moving it backwards and it was the cable, first I repaired it and then I changed it for a new one and that problem was solved. But now what pains me is that when I raise the brightness to more than 20% the screen flickers. When it blinks, it is not like before, the image is cut, only that the brightness does not rise and horizontal bands are formed, and when the brightness lowers the bands go away. But the brightness is so low that it is hard to see the screen. Have you heard something like this. Thanks
Bruh we have the same laptop and I'm also planning to replace my screen since it's broken. Btw is your old screen/original built-in screen a 4k UHD (3840×2160) touch screen? Tysm for your reply.
I know this question is so late but can I replace 768p panel with 1080p, I can get a 1080p panel from a broken Dell laptop. So sorry if this question stupid, I just genuinely want to learn. Thanks for reading.
i have the same problem. just a shadow in the left corner but still working. the issue is the OEM is 4k UHD (3840×2160) and the replacement is FHD. mine has touch , doesn't have the bezel..
How do you know the screen is compatible with your Dell laptop? I've read somewhere that Dell laptops require specific screens exclusively for their models. Is this true or can you find a replacement outside of its manufacturer?
Hi dude, Thanks for the video. I bought Dell Inspiron 7559 i5 few days ago. I am about to use it for graphic design & event photo editing. But I noticed it has very low colour accuracy & can't show many colours. It's very annoying & disappointing. I don't know the model of the monitor. I just want to replace it by another display with better colour accuracy & more colour coverage too. Can you please suggest me a display model which will be good for graphic design?
This laptop looks exactly like Inpiron 5577. How do you think, will that screen fit the Inspiron 5577? or just 7559?? I will be waiting for a response. Thank you!
I have the same exact laptop, would you happen to know if this would work to upgrade from a 1366x768 screen to the 1920x1080 screen included in the description?
hey, saw you video about the laptop screen on a Dell Inspiron 7559"... out of the blue (since last night) my screen is about 90% black, if I put a flashlight on it I can see things, so it's not all black out. Also it works just fine using the HDMI (wich is saving me right now)... Should I replace the cable ou change the whole screen?! I called a guy who works with this stuff and without looking he said it might be a problem in the mother boards, something about energy involving the screen... but he charged a lot just to repair without replacing anything, and again, he didn't even looked it. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advanced
I tried to change the screen in a Precision 3550 and the new/replacement one didn't come back up and so I put the old cracked one back in and that didn't work anymore either. I think Dell is putting something in the BIOS on these things to detect hardware changes and go into limp mode. it stopped posting after I did the swap. oh well.

Does the matte or glossy really count when buying the ips panel
can i replace 720p tn panel screen with 1080p ips. i have exactly the same screen type as shown in the video. please answer.
Will this work for the new dell g series laptops? The screen is HORRIBLE and I want a nice 120hz none matte screen for it.
Be aware that when you take the bezel off, the hinges will be loose and will creep slightly from the corners, pretty much for good.
This laptop looks exactly like Inpiron 5577. How do you think, will that screen fit the Inspiron 5577? or just 7559?? I will be waiting for a response. Thank you!
