ORDINANCES Paul was an old testament scholar from boyhood and would have been well familiar with the below passages and the "ordinances" which were attached to them, all of which regard all the things Paul said not to accept Judgment for.. The NKJV translates "grain" instead of "meat" in all of these Old Testament offerings, and from here on we will refer to it as a grain offering rather than a meat offering. Colossians 2:14-17 is used by some to say that when Jesus died on the cross he nailed the ordinances, such as keeping the Sabbath day, to the cross, so that we do not have to keep it any more. The key verse in this scripture is verse 16, where 5 things are mentioned: meat, drink, a feast, a new moon, and a Sabbath. Whenever we get things mentioned together like these, and we wish to know what Paul is talking about, it is wise to consider where he gets them from. Remember that the bible for the early church was the Old Testament scriptures, so this is the obvious place to look. (Nehemiah 10:32-33) "Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God; For the showbread, and for the continual grain offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the Sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God." (1 Chronicles 23:31) "And to offer all burnt sacrifices to Yahweh in the Sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded to them, continually before Yahweh." (2 Chronicles 2:4) "Behold, I build an house to the name of Yahweh my God, ... for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of Yahweh our God." (2 Chronicles 31:3) "He appointed also ... the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of Yahweh." (Nehemiah 10:33) "For the showbread, and for the continual grain offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the Sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy things, and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God." (Ezekiel 46:4-6) "And the burnt offering that the prince shall offer to Yahweh in the Sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish. And the grain offering shall be an ephah for a ram, and the grain offering for the lambs as he shall be able to give, and a hin of oil to an ephah. And in the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish." Paul was referring to these Old Testament daily sacrifices in Colossians 2:16, but as is common in New Testament Greek there is a word missing (See: Find the Missing Words) in this quotation. It should read like this. (Colossians 2:16) "Therefore, do not let anyone judge you in grain or drink offerings," Just as the words "grain" and "drink" were referring to sacrifice offerings made on certain days, even so, looking at the above scriptures, it becomes obvious that the words "feast", "new moon", and "Sabbath" always come together when referring to offerings made on those days. Paul knew these scriptures, and he was referring to these offerings in Colossians 2:16, but as is habitual with New Testament Greek, he missed out a word: "offerings". This would not confuse the readers in those days, because the Old Testament was their bible, and they would know to look there to see what Paul was writing about, but it has allowed many to misinterpret what Paul was saying here. So what "handwriting of ordinances" did Jesus blot out, "nailing it to his cross;" (Colossians 2:14)? We might argue that it couldn't refer to the ten commandments, because they were initially written by "the finger of God" (Exodus 31:18), not mans hand, and therefore they endure for ever (Psalm 89:34; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 24:35; 1 Peter 1:25). The "law of commandments" referred to here is called a "law of carnal commandment" (Hebrews 7:16), and the "ordinances" referred to are called "carnal ordinances": They are the ordinances to do with these sacrifices, some of which were man made. God bless you all!
Col 2:16 is a direct quotation from Ezequiel about the “ordinances” that were supposed to “make reconciliation” for the sinner. The Sabbath was given to man, prior to the fall of man, at the Creation (Gen. 2:1-3), and it was given for, and not against, the man. “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made *for man,* and not man for the sabbath:” Mark 2:27 Therefore, the Sabbath (singular) has nothing to do with “restoration from sin”, but with communion with and participation in the God’s rest. While the sabbaths (plural) or sabbath days, are cerimonials and part of the ordinances established after the fall of Adan and Eve for “reconciliation of sin”; those ordinances pointed to the more effective and efficient sacrifice of Christ when all sacrifices were to be fulfilled or stopped or ceased. (Dan 9:27) “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall *cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,* and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Daniel 9:27 At Calvary when Christ died the temple veil was torn top to bottom voiding all sacrifices from there on. “And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.” Mark 15:37-38 So, again, Paul, as a scholar in the Old Testament was familiar with all of this and in Colossians 2:16 made a reference to the exact sequence of the ordinances used “to make reconciliation” in Eze. 45:17. “And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and *meat offerings,* and *drink offerings,* in the *feasts* [or, holidays], and in the *new moons,* and in *the sabbaths* [plural], in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, *to make reconciliation* for the house of Israel.” Ezekiel 45:17 Now, see Colossians 2:14,16: “blotting out the handwriting of *ordinances* that was *against us,* which was *contrary to us,* and *took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;* Let no man therefore judge you in *meat,* or in *drink,* or in respect of an *holyday,* or of the *new moon,* or of the *sabbath days* [plural]:” Colossians 2:14, 16 In Colossians Paul is teaching the wonderful good news (gospel) of Christ’s work at the cross in “blotting out the handwriting of *ordinances* that was *against us,* which was *contrary to us* these sacrifices and its whole cerimonial system became obsolete in Christ. Paul was not talking about the wonderful experience of being in relationships with and enjoying God’s weekly rest on the Sabbath day (singular). It’s truly a singular experience! “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.” Hebrews 4:9

Hey, I have problem. Im 19 yr old man. I dont know it is God telling me, the enemy or myself. I first felt fear about plucking eyebrows in the middle about a year ago. I didnt know it was God or the enemy. I felt fear it is a sin, but I didn’t believe it was a sin. Then I let it go or promised I wouldn’t do it again, not sure. Then I felt peace for about a week. Then same happened with shaving my beard, trimming nails, etc. That all is confusing me. It happens also when I am on instagram and whatever bible verse there is it says let it go, it is sin, then other thoughts become positive saying you have been lied to it was a sin, devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. Sometimes positive sometimes negative. It is all confusing to me. Even thoughts of blaspheming the Holy Spirit came in mind, that if I believe it is not a sin that I will go to hell. Like… I really dont want to blaspheme God or the Holy Spirit. Can I do all these things? Is God telling me not to do something or is he allowing me or it is the enemy or myself. Forgot to mention, when I read article about collosians 2:20-23 I think, I felt immediate peace and joy, even started laughing of peace. Can it be God is saying to me I can do all these things and those are not a sin?

"Exegesis of Subtle satan: Deception of the Apostate Church." This expository writing is to help restore the sabbath truth which has been "blatantly" and "fallaciously" "displaced" and "altered" by man. (Exodus 31:16-17). Now before we begin for the "naysayers" that say the sabbath is only for the jews and not for them read (Romans 11:17) and (Galatians 3:29): You've been grafted in and you are Abraham's seed, if Christ's Spirit indeed dwells in you. Now that means, same God of the children of israel, same laws of the God of the children of israel, and same promises of the God of the children of israel, oh, and haven't you heard, there is no jew or gentile. Now that we've established we serve the same God, let's get to the falsehood and root it out. Now the "deceived" and "incognizant" will tell you (Colossians 2:16) says the sabbath has been abolished, blotted out, and nailed to the cross, but that is not a veracious interpretation-that is the exegesis of "subtle" satan. Let's read in context and perceive what is really being apprised here. Notice the grammar, (Colossians 2:14) "blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us," do we have to guess what these ordinances are, should we let man-fabricated doctrine tell us what they are, or should we let the set-apart Spirit and God most high's Word tell us-let's go with the latter. Now notice the correlation as we read further in context, (Colossians 2:20-22): do you see the interconnection, these are the commandments of men-not God most high. You see how context conveys contexture; the Word is saying not to follow man's contrary ways but to follow Christ. So when it says "Let no man therefore judge you," (Colossians 2:16) it means don't regard man's commandments that contradict what Christ said because as it is written, "but the body is of Christ," which means you are alive in Christ and you follow Christ-not the precepts of men. Also notice the grammar, (Colossians 2:17): it doesn't say were a shadow, it says "are a shadow of things to come," which means they're a representation of a deeper-truer reality to come. Now if you still think torah commandments were never given to new-believer gentiles that's a falsehood. Notice, (Acts 15:19-20): now you might be wondering why they were only given those commandments-because they knew that was what the pagans were mostly involved in that transgressed torah; also they didn't want to burden (all torah at once equals heavy burden) these new-believer-gentile converts to Christ. Also notice the context, (Acts 15:21): they not only knew these new-believer-gentile converts to Christ would be observing the sabbath, but they knew they would be learning torah. Notice, (Mark 2:27-28): Jesus Christ said, "The sabbath was made for man [not against but to avail], and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." Also notice, (Exodus 31:17): the Father rested and was refreshed on the seventh day which is what He wants for you; "There remains therefore a rest ..." (Hebrews 4:9-11). Do you really believe a day of rest is against you (rhetorical)? It's time you take back what "subtle" satan has stolen from you, and be steadfast in the law of God most high. (Exodus 20:8-11): In summation (for simplification), all the Father requires of you on the sabbath day is to remember it, to keep it holy, and to do no work, and yes you can cook on it (Exodus 12:8,10,16) as well as ignite a fire-let no man therefore judge you. God bless y'all, and enjoy the sabbath day that Yo sanctified (not man) and made for you.

Nonsense. Salvation is by belief and faith in Yeshua, because we have faith, we obey God’s law. It stated on nearly every page of your bible. Faith without works is dead.
A lot of human wisdom. But nothing about what the text says. These are signs of things to come. Not things that were to come. In fact this chapter is about fiests that ARE STILL VALID TODAY, WHICH POINT TO THE SECOND COMI.G. People were judging each other on details.
Hey Patricia notice some other stuff thats changed when religions don’t believe their kjv bible and start using bible perversions. Col 2:16 is changed from holydays to religious festivals. Like you said sabbath days to sabbath day. New moon is changed to new moon celebration. Here’s a huge intentional problem in Col 2:17 the truth is these items are a shadow of things to come. These new perversion’s make all these things past tense. Col 2:10-17 tells where we are today and when the Kingdom of Heaven starts after the tribulation the sabbath and other laws will be back in effect because our apostle Paul wrote these things are to come. Theres a total lack of bible understanding today. When people get away from the word this is the result.
Many times when you read Sabbath's.its talking about the festivals .which are high Sabbath..then you have the 7th day Sabbath..Christ said if you love me..keep them all..the festivals have now become memorials .there is no longer at this time any animals sacfices .altho many think they will return..but not sure about that but in any case Christ will be with us at that time..not sure if many understand he died on the passover .my question is why would you not keep that day..???? All the feast are about Christ please study with the Holy Spirit and stop follow men😮
Thank you for explaining these verses so well.

Paul was an old testament scholar from boyhood and would have been well familiar with the below passages and the "ordinances" which were attached to them, all of which regard all the things Paul said not to accept Judgment for..
The NKJV translates "grain" instead of "meat" in all of these Old Testament offerings, and from here on we will refer to it as a grain offering rather than a meat offering. (Ezekiel 46:4-6) "And the burnt offering that the prince shall offer to Yahweh in the Sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish.

Paul was referring to these Old Testament daily sacrifices in Colossians 2:16, but as is common in New Testament Greek there is a word missing (See: Find the Missing Words) in this quotation. It should read like this.

So great to hear!
Col 2:16 is a direct quotation from Ezequiel about the “ordinances” that were supposed to “make reconciliation” for the sinner. The Sabbath was given to man, prior to the fall of man, at the Creation (Gen. 2:1-3), and it was given for, and not against, the man.
“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made *for man,* and not man for the sabbath:” Mark 2:27
Therefore, the Sabbath (singular) has nothing to do with “restoration from sin”, but with communion with and participation in the God’s rest. (Dan 9:27)
“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall *cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,* and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Daniel 9:27
At Calvary when Christ died the temple veil was torn top to bottom voiding all sacrifices from there on.
“And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.” Mark 15:37-38
So, again, Paul, as a scholar in the Old Testament was familiar with all of this and in Colossians 2:16 made a reference to the exact sequence of the ordinances used “to make reconciliation” in Eze. 45:17.
“And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and *meat offerings,* and *drink offerings,* in the *feasts* [or, holidays], and in the *new moons,* and in *the sabbaths* [plural], in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, *to make reconciliation* for the house of Israel.” Ezekiel 45:17
Now, see Colossians 2:14,16:
“blotting out the handwriting of *ordinances* that was *against us,* which was *contrary to us,* and *took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;* Let no man therefore judge you in *meat,* or in *drink,* or in respect of an *holyday,* or of the *new moon,* or of the *sabbath days* [plural]:” Colossians 2:14, 16
In Colossians Paul is teaching the wonderful good news (gospel) of Christ’s work at the cross in “blotting out the handwriting of *ordinances* that was *against us,* which was *contrary to us* these sacrifices and its whole cerimonial system became obsolete in Christ.
Paul was not talking about the wonderful experience of being in relationships with and enjoying God’s weekly rest on the Sabbath day (singular). It’s truly a singular experience!

I don’t want to be alone but I also want to follow God in the way that I feel led. All I ever wanted was a wife and kids but being saved by God was the only thing that fixed my depression and hurt. Im scared I’ll fall back into a depression if I don’t physically have my wife and kids in my life everyday.
@@codyalexander3290 (Romans 15:13) I'll pray for God's will to be done in your life, and that you will not be bound to depression, but abound in hope through the holy Spirit (Romans 12:12).
Well said
My bible says Sabbath days not Sabbath days kjv is the best because both bible says different things be careful with those modern versions.
I really wish I had those old school bibles 😢
I do not trust the King James version, but I do trust the bynv all praise to the messiah Yahusha
