      Why did pharaoh harden his own heart? The scripture says God & Pharaoh harden the Pharaoh’s heart. And it says the Pharaoh’s heart was hardened but doesn’t say who did it. The Pharaoh was an evil man who hated God. I think the Pharaoh didn’t want to admit that there was a higher authority than himself. Certain people hearts get harden against God because of that reason.
      Also God hardens Pharaoh’s heart as an act of judgment because of the pharaoh’s rebellion against Him.
      But that doesn’t mean that the Pharaoh didn’t have free will or was doomed to go that road. He chose that path and God is responding to the Pharaoh’s evil deeds. There are consequences to evil actions
