Derrick trucks, his wife Susan and warren Haynes are the best, new band in the last 16 years, I'm not kidding. All three have been making music for a long time and when they all play together, they are great.
That's an amazing sound coming together. Susan's vocals are fabulous but even better as part of the mix that goes down here with the horns, drums and all guitars. It all goes to different places yet all the band are on it and in harmony
will see these guys next week for jazz fest 201 6, looking forward to seeing one of most soulful slide guitarist of our time, rock on Tedeschi Trucks Band. we gonna party live some kick ass music, bon ton roule.
I love this band, such a good singer, a great band and the wonderful Gibson SG1 on slide guitar. Yeah, I am glad that we have these great Gibson gutars on this planet (I got one, ha..) and I know this is just sound. Best regards to USA, Uwe, guitar player, South Germany.
Andrew Steiner the allman brothers band in 1971 ...thats 44 years ago mind you...blew this band off the map....duane and dickie destroyed trucks and fat warren...no comparison...
Dean Martin you are comparing apples and oranges, why tear down this great band and good people, yeah I love the Allmans too. And Warren has lost weight too.
Dean Martin lol dude thats like sayin the dead were better with jerry than any furthur/phil & phriends/ rat dog lineups youll see these days. Obviously it was better back then, no shit genius. Its not like its not worth it to see any of them play these days though, they still melt faces just the same as gregg, buth, jai'moe, derek, warren etc. still do. They wouldnt be playing the music of their dearly missed without having a more than suitable replacement. I really dont uunderstand the point you are trying to make... what im getting out of your comment is "so and so band was better with lineup A when they were in their prime, than they are nowadays with lineup B"... i mean obviously they were better in their prime dumbass...
She grew up in Norwell, so where did she get all that grit, pain and soul in her voice? Got my tickets for August 5th at Red Rocks, can't wait to see them live!
beyondR Edemption So only Derek should solo? I agree he's one of the most talented slide guitarists on the planet, but I appreciate the rare moments when Susan cuts loose in a live performance.
Bob MacNeal Well that's just my opinion but yeah, only him should solo. I have a feeling that her style is just what you hear from everyday blues guitarrists such as myself (not saying i'm better) but i just think she is a "ok" guitar player. That's just my opinion, she's a bright singer and a very talented musician.
beyondR Edemption What a bold statement. I love DTrucks but his playing can be redundant... gotta have some Avg blues chops to split up those, sometimes whiney, guitar solos.
Susan needs to be pushed more. Her voice is rad, but gets drowned out often because of the loudness of the music. I get the feeling that she plays second fiddle to Derek (never knocking Derek)... but she is great in her own sense! Check her voice at the concert at the White House for President Obama. That was rockin! The genre needs to let her rise above and get to her full potential..she's got the grit in her voice to go further. I really enjoy her singing!
Best band. Already gone international. The absolute Pinnacle of musical performance. I have been to a few of their life shows and the last one I saw in New Orleans the entire crowd was mesmerised and just stood there in awe either with goosebumps or tears. And a good majority of the people just had their hands up in surrender
+Roger Lee Meyzindi Love Otiel, seen him a dozen times with ABB, the Peacemakers and various jam configurations and he's been great with Dead & Co. But as soon as Tim Lafave joined TTB - everything changed. It just clicked. Lafave holds the bottom and floats within the thundering rhythm section, leaving enough room for horns, keys, guitars, vocals, etc. Otiel needs more space to roam, than this band allows for.
Just for info, it's Tim Lefevbre, not Lafave; but yes, point taken. Oteil was great with DTB, and in the early days of this band, bt Tim fits swing better.IMHO.
I was lucky to be there and they were AMAZING!!!!
My very first time hearing this band. I was searching for Sly and the Family stone song and then I said to myself who is this group. They are GREAT!
My God!!! It doesn't get better than this!!!! They tore "I pity the fool" UPPPPP! Amazed at such raw talent!!!
THIS IS A FAMILY THING. WE ARE GOING .TO JAM OUT.DEREK AND SUSAN. KEEP DOING IT
I can enough of these artists.. I am a diet of exceptional music.. taken daily..
They feed my soul everyday,..
One of the best Live Bands touring right now.

When Derek launched into this solo at The Ryman in Nashville I almost had a moment--goosebumps.
I'd be getting ready for Red Rocks. I miss these guys so much. Thanks for posting tho!

busawulf Absolutely agree with you.
I love when Susan shreds her Stratocaster at about 15:00
Bob MacNeal yeah, it's always good to see her cut loose.
Bob MacNeal How different are people... I, for one, think she shouldn't solo at all on this band...

Susan should teach grade school. She has the ability to get the point across.
Immense and Intense ending 19:37
Is it me or is the audio super quiet.

Evan Pragliola yeah it's to quiet.
