Bali Bey chases up the clue he has found. Suleiman who is proud of Mehmet's success gets devastated with the bad news received from Manisa. Suleiman who is on the brink of the abyss revives miraculously.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

From how little we see of Mihrimah actually ruling the harem, Gülfem whining of how similarly she's behaving to her mother feels all the more humorous as I can only imagine she's referring to how Mihrimah is shutting out those that were against Hürrem. Like, not for nothing, but that sounds a lot like reaping what you sow.

@@owusuapriscilla4933 she went with the tide of power.
When Valide was strong, she was close to her and Hatice, when Ibrahim was strong, she was closer to Hatice than Valide. When Suleiman backed her, she even went against Mahidevran.
When Fatma was there, she returned to being friend with Mahidevran. When only Hurrem was there and no one could protect her, she suddenly was Hurrem's admirer.

@@owusuapriscilla4933 I mean, given Gülfem's closeness to Hatice, I always assumed that, in large part, her problem with Hürrem was the same as Hatice's, but that really wasn't well written at all. Overall, Gülfem really just gets reduced to being used to prop up other character's narratives and it shows in how all over the place her writing is. Which, considering that she was one of Hürrem's closest friends in real life is always a little ironic to me.
